For a few years he was the best player in the world . The Wings played Los Angeles and Federov was put against the Gretsky line and Federov scored 4 goals in that game. The coach for Los Angeles Berry Melrose called Federov the best player in the world and he was Gretsky s coach

His english got so much better by the end of his career. Besides his great talent part of what made Sergie Federov such a great player was his intelligence.
