@Richard ASMR true, though when one is given a choice to invade those countries in the name of “territorial sovereignty” rather than staying put in the states.. it makes u wonder the many wonderful and endless alternatives in ways this all could’ve been avoided. Broken families & traumatised children to sleepless/paranoid troops. But lets be honest here, we all know their deployment was for that oil grab lol. So many of you all thank these troops as if they went through the trenches of hell and back when really you americans glorify that whole facade neglecting the fact that what the OPPOSING forces had to go through, with little to nothing to defend themselves, is by far one of the most tonedeaf, cringe & empty form of appreciation you all give about to these people in uniform. Also, it’s dumb when knowing half the population in the US actually believe the middle east as being this heated, barbaric piece of land that till this day is not worthy of much respect. It’s a clear indication to the ignorance and dumbness of the Americans who get their news source from CBS and/or possibly snapchat. With that, all i’m trying to really say is, while fefe was rocking out thru those headphones directly touching your heart. Families in those broken countries needed aid, shelter, their wealth and health back & you allllll made that extra hard for them to attain.

We would dance to the music video in the living room as a family, I’ll never forget those moments, the laughing, and joy. The healing that this was in all of our lives. If you’re a musician, just know that even if you don’t think you “made” it, your words can touch people, and help them. In ways you can never imagine.

I remember the MTV special they did on Fefe to promote this song. Although they interviewed and focused on her mom more, who was white, Fefe spoke about being “black”, making “rock music” and how it was hard to find supporters or fans because the group she wanted to make music for wasn’t into rock music. I’ve been a fan since! I’ve never heard anything more honest from someone who was so young!

Watch a video on her career. She was one of the only black punk rock artists and she was dropped from some labels because she wanted to stay true to what she wanted to do and not be pop like Rihanna. But they picked other mixed artists (Jordan Sparks/Rihanna) instead of her. I applaud her. In my punk rock era as an African American girl, she was IT.

She went on to make songs for Selina Gomez and Miley Cirus, had a hit with "stutterin" and is dating Yella Wolf who she also did a song with. Oh and Jorden Sparks covered her single "don't let it go to your head"

I can't believe how much I remember this song. The name "Fefe Dobson" got mentioned in something I was watching, and it rang such an oddly familiar bell that I had to google it. Honestly, this shit deserved better than it got, she's got a good voice and the music (while somewhat par for the course) was perfect for the early 2000's.

I remember this coming on MTV back when I was in high school. I always remember not knowing who she was at first and never catching the video when it first came on to see who it was until (after weeks of trying) I finally caught her name. Still love this song to this day.

So....I was super into this type of music back in the 00's, and I'm just wondering how I missed this. 😒🤔 I was all about black women in rock and metal. Because it's so rare to see someone who looked like me, and when I found someone who was into the same music as I was, it was like.....the heavens had parted.
