You are so right. I've had many, many (Forever Rescues) cats, dogs, etc, that I've loved deeply, but there are those who have stolen our hearts forever. My first soulmate Chester, a dog, i lost on 8/22/79. Within seconds of thinking about him, the pain i feel is as deep as the day i lost him. 💔. I have a number of cats who have also left me especially devastated, especially my Tianna Groodles. A cat, to everyone else just looked like a regular gray/white cat, but to me was so beautiful, as i would tell her, "My eyes couldn't take in all of her beauty at the same time." They are truly our soulmates.
