As a truck driver with several years of experience now i can tell you nothing under 2k a week is good money, i personal knowing what i know now would not do it for less. 2500 a week is great money, you gotta think if your working 70 hours a week, 2k a week is only like 20 bucks a hour when you break it down. you either deal with crap pay or demand more, granted im not a felon a d have a clean record all the way around, so that helps getting good jobs but still.

@kellyhoneyfeloncdljourney2 жыл бұрын
The main reason I decided to not go lease when I first started is because I did not know nothing about trucking, I did not even know the price of diesel, to be honest I couldn't have even given an accurate price on gas, because I was fresh out, I did not know how many miles I could drive a day, I did not know how it feels after driving 11 hours a day, back to back for multiple days, I knew that there was a lot that I did not know so I decided to first get behind the wheel and just learn how to run the truck, learn how to adjust to living in a truck and I wanted to learn all that stuff without all that extra stuff to worry about, I embraced the opportunity as a learning experience, and it has been a very good learning experience. One of the main things I learned is that Transam knows exactly what they are doing, they are slick, just keeping it real but you know what, I believe that they ain't no different from these other companies, yes, for real, I am so thankful to Transam for putting me in the truck when these other companies couldn't look past my background, so for that, I will forever be grateful to Transam for the chance, shoot and for the money because once again I will say that I have never made this kinda money prior to working for them. Transam is a very good place to start and learn how trucking goes and to make a pretty good paycheck too. For real.

I probably should have started my trucking career with Trans Am. I have no record and my driver’s license is pretty clean. I only went with them because they didn’t put you in a truck for weeks with a trainer. Things were ok until they messed up on my paycheck. The way treated me pissed me off. My refrigerator was empty and they refused to pay me what I was owed. I finished my jobs, cleaned out the truck and returned it to Missouri I hope to get back out there soon. TransAm needs good drivers desperately, so they aren't going to fire you over something like that. Good drivers can get away with quite a bit compared to workers in most other positions at companies. If you screw up something like accidents, late for appointments, violations, etc. then you are subject to dismissal. Taking a break for a day...nah, they are not going to sweat a good driver about that.

They told me they allow riders at $18 month. I would like to have my daughter to ride with me sometimes. My husband as well. I have good mvr and background. I was more nervous about a ridealong trainer. Yes be nice to have a trainer but I enjoy being alone. Nervous but easier
@honeyexpressservices79332 жыл бұрын
They do have a ride policy, for sure they do, the rider has to be atleast 10 years old though. Lots of people say they wouldn't mind a trainer, that's a good mindset because it shows that your willing to learn, it also says that you believe you have more to learn, that's good, hold onto that type of attitude. With that being said, if you can safely drive the truck, you can start running loads, just take it easy and remember to be safe, pay attention, stay aware of the condition of your equipment, get your rest and if you feel you are driving and you feeling sleepy, pull over and set your alarm clock and let yourself take an hour or two nap, just do whatever you gotta do to be safe. If you can drive the truck you can run the loads, as something new comes up, you'll figure it out and before long you will be fully in the swing of things. If you can master the training range, you can run those loads. Peace to you and your family. :)

Is the job very physical? I’m not cut out to load/unload goods all day long, and so I was hoping the job consisted of mostly drop and hook.
@kellyhoneyfeloncdljourney2 жыл бұрын
@@nobull772 i think that maybe you have the wrong idea about what is not a drop and hook, if your load is not a drop and hook, usually it is what is called a live load/unload, what that means is that the shipper or reciever actually loads/unloads the trailer and after that is done you leave with the same trailer A drop and hook means that you arrive at the shipper/reciever and switch trailers and go, in other words no waiting for a trailer to be loaded/unloaded Now, I think what you are concerned about is you as the driver having to load/unloaded the trailer, this is called touch frieght, Transam drivers do not load/unloaded the trailers, this is called no touch freight Shoot most of the time the warehouses they do not even allow the drivers inside the warehouse. Transam is a reefer company and most of the customers are warhouses that have freezers So no, you are not expected to unload the trailers, not woth Transam Also, lots of warehouses have what is called lumpers, lumpers are people who unload the trailer.

When you have a bad just just remind yourself YOU DONE MUCH MORE FOR MUCH LESS MONEY AND MUCH MORE RISK. I tell myself that every time I wanna burn my truck down 🤪 Don’t let sht get to u. Put your head down and roll out. Keep the door closed and that truck in gear. There is a learning curve. Your not gonna get at that bag right away. I been trucking since 2003. It’s not easy. But there is a lot of money in this business if you do it right. When I’m working otr I can hit 20-28k a month before expenses. I’m a owner op who runs under my own authority and haul reefer when on The road. I own my equipment. I have a heavy tow truck I run when I’m home. Almost a hobby 😂 to keep me busy. There is money there. Be patient. Learn. Most of all you need to be a mechanic. You need to pick a book up and learn about these trucks. It will pay 10 fold down the road. Keep the door closed and truck in gear. The rest will come to you with time. But most of all learn about trucks as much as you can.

My last felony conviction was in 20 I started with Transam in 21 Different companies have different policies Some companies don't have any policy, if you have a Class-A is the only thing some companies care about It will be harder with felonies but you already know that. Bro, if you get your CDL you will get a job. Transam, Western Express and Jett Trucking are three companies that hire recent felons

Hay bud. I've been a driver for over 30 yrs. I love it still but my friend if you aren't putting over 1000 in your pocket after taxes ect then you are being ripped off. Many companies do this to there drivers and it truly sucks. Not putting trans am down by any means but I drove for them for a few wks and quit. If you can't make 60cpm to 70 cpm then you need to look around. Just advice from one driver to another.

It is a urine test bro, atleast it was last year in May, make sure, double sure you are clean before you go to orientation because you do not want them reporting you to the clearinghouse. For real, for real, lots of guys piss dirty and there aint no reason for that, it's just a urine test, you don't want go through the return-to-work process with the FMCSA and the SAP program, just wait and get clean. I am currently waiting in their hotel in Tampa. I got done orientation Sunday. It's weds morning (barely) still no word on my truck. I'm making either 80 bucks a day or 105 a day I honestly can't tell lol. I came here because they told me 50 cents per mile when I got here they told me I'm making 32 cents. I haven't worked in 7.5 weeks. I NEED this bitch ass company to just start getting paychecks again. I'm only staying for 3 months then I'm bouncing. ANY company that will lie to recruit you then switch it up on you when you arrive is not for me. I appreciate your honesty and your videos. Thank you. I hope you are still doing good bro, for real. Thanks again. To the newbies watching this video, reading the comments (like my dumb ass) stay the fuck from ScamsAM they lie and only want you to lease. That's MY experience with fucktards anyway.

I hate to hear that they lied to you. I would feel the same as you if I was lied to like that. Bro, I know felons who have left Transam and who have gotten other jobs, just get the experience. @@kellyhoneyfeloncdljourney OK. I didn't figure you(or anyone for that matter) could make that kind of money @ Transam based on what they pay,and how slow their trucks are. Dang bro, for real man, you can't operate like that in society, you are not in prison anymore, if you keep doing stuff like that it will not end well, you know how easy it is to catch a case, for real, you need to chill out. You will find a job though, no doubt about that since you got your CDL but for a felon, Transam is a good place to be, it really is but I guess it don't do no good telling you that now. Anyhow, Western Express will take you, K&B will take you if you got 5 months experience, there are many other opportunities out there too, you will find a job, it may not be with a mega-carrier but you will find a job. Keep looking, keep calling, keep submitting applications. Oh yeah, hey, look up Kold Transportation too, they are willing to work with recent felons too. But do you see and understand now a little better exactly why some companies have policies about felons? They don't want situations occurring on their dime like the one you described. Anyhow, keep looking, your gonna find a job
