Seems like she's completely lacking political insight. If she thinks people were voting against their interests, she doesn't understand what their interests actually are. It's similar with the gun debate here in the states. The needs and wants of people in the big cities are often the polar opposite of the needs and wants of everyone else. It takes some serious solipsism to not recognize that other people have different interests than you do. Edit: PS: She isn't punching up at all, she's punching down. Personally I don't find punching up or down virtuous or not virtuous, but it's the mark of a GOOD comedian to be able to make fun of everybody instead of only who it's politically correct to attack according to self righteous snobs with a superiority complex.
