This is so sad. I was a part of USA Gymnastics for a long time - my whole childhood, and competed at a high level. It sickens me that this was happening all along. And that girls I idolized, like Jamie Dantzscher, were going through such an awful trauma, while I was over here convinced that their lives were perfect because they were world and Olympic class. This is awful! I did gymnastics, but mainly grew up doing pre professional ballet by a couple, Victor and Tatiana, and they were so mentally and verbally controlling and abusive. And sometimes the husband would touch the young girls and rub their bellies up and down, and at the same time he would make fun of the girl and say "so how many cheeseburgers did you eat before practice?"... The wife, Tatiana, was more passive aggressive, and she would yell at you for a portion of the class, but once her patience wore thin and you were still messing up, she would just ignore you for the remainder of class. And then one day a Russian girl joined our classes, and since they were Russian, they not only favorited her, as they had with other girls, but they would talk shit on the rest of us in Russian, and the girl would translate to us later, and the way they spoke about us was so hurtful and awful. And we were anywhere from 7-13 years old in varying levels, but it was not unusual to see girls crying in the hallways. They picked their favorites and ignored the rest, but their favorites could change on the dime, so tensions were always high because one week they loved you, and then the next they hated you. There was an 18 year old, that was in the highest level of the program, but once she hit 18, they wanted to kick her out, but she loved training with them, and then said that she had to either lose 25 pounds or she was out. They really were so cruel, and so many of the students and their parents would try to kiss up to them and by them gifts and such, but they still treated kids really terrible. And it's sad when parents were paying their hard earned money, and having their kids literally crying before practice because they were afraid to be yelled at and made fun of and embarrassed in front of others.

There seems to be WAY to much pressure put upon young girls in sports like Gymnastics & Ballet these days, but by the way you describing these people, it sounds like they were just plain abusive. It's not at all healthily to treat young impressionable kids like that - trying to pit them against each other and encouraging them to loose weight making them insecure about their body image. I thought places like that are meant to help the kids build up their confidence and abilities in the sport (I get when it comes to the professional level there's more likely to be a certain amount of more pressure to succeed and for the kids to try their best. For their couches to encourage them to reach their goals & help them to be the best they can be, to push them to a limit they know the child can cope with and help them flourish in their abilities) but surely it's also about having fun too? And that the girls mental health is just as important as their physical. But what do I know lol x

Hannah Almond Thanks for your reply... Yeah, it truly was a mindfuck... While they produced great dancers, they turned many away from it... So many girls would take a few classes and then quit because of how harshly we were treated... And a lot of the multiple classes we had to take during the day lasted between 3:30, after we got out of school, til about 10pm... So girls would bring "cup of noodle ramen soups" and make them in the microwave that was at the studio... And I knew of multiple girls who would eat, and immediately go into the bathroom to vomit up the soup... Looking back on it, while I learned really great classical dance technique, the treatment we had was so fucked up... I also took piano lessons from a polish teacher, and I have to say, I really didn't like playing piano... It was something that I enjoyed as a little kid with a basic keyboard, just kind of toying around with different tunes or learning to play songs from the radio... My parents thought that I was serious about it and ended up buying me a really expensive piano, and set me up with lessons with this hardcore polish teacher... At that time, I wasn't that into playing because I was so busy with dance lessons every day plus going to a catholic school in all honors classes... So I was busy, and practicing piano was my least favorite thing to do... Anyway, the teacher would literally smack my hands with a ruler anytime I would mess up... It was so stressful and made me just hate piano even more. I don't know how the fuck my mom managed to find these Russian and Polish strict ass teachers but damn... They were some crazy ass people. It really pisses me off because at one point, my parents got a divorce, and my mom was working hard to pay for my private school, my dance lessons, piano, and I also did horseback riding (which was my favorite), and various other activities.... But she was working her ass off to afford classes that I literally dreaded going to for fear of being yelled at or spoken behind my back and mocked in another language to another student... Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love to dance... While I did study ballet with strict Russians, I found my calling with Jazz and Lyrical and more athletic and sporty styles of dance... I find them much more expressive than the strict confines and technical structure of ballet... But learning ballet is an important, fundamental component when learning any style of dance... So while I did get a good education in technique that helped me in other styles, I will say the teaching approach was so wrong and really offensive.

Taking strict in the wrong way to being cruel would any instructor disrespect: they need to learn- treat one another the way you treated! disrespect someone get you disrespect in return, unkind to someone they're disapprove of it, and being unfair people will disapprove of it! The crazy part about this ranch is how secretive it is rarely videos are allowed. Gymnasts are even watched by coaches during meals so many go without eating. These gymnasts are away from their parents and few parents are informed on these details. Gymnasts think of these people as gods and are willing to follow their every command as it puts them that much closer to their dreams. Many coaches here are very abusive but they are from countries such as Russia and Romania where the way they are treating these girls is kind compared to their own treatment. It's interesting and I suggest many read up on these coaches especially the Karolyis (They are far from innocent)

What I would like to know is what health conditions beyond the obvious would warrant a physician to perform vaginal penetration in this way. And what physicians might be allowed to do them.
