Great video. My S40 switches off every night, when I test it in the morning says battery is dead but when I do the reset you showed in the video here it works perfect for the rest of the day again and battery full. Same thing happens every night. Very strange.

You might just have a bad battery that's not holding a charge because there's a bad cell or something in the battery. What I would do if fully charge up the battery and try everything over again. If it goes to working and keeps running overnight for a few days in row, then hopefully you're good to go. If it still does it, you might just need a new battery. You could also test the solar panel and make sure it's good or bad. You'll need a digital multimeter to test it.

My s40 will blink red on wildlife, green on battery test and cattle setting. Any ideas? When I started using it a few days ago, I had to charge the battery. It worked right for a few days, then this red error on wildlife started. I did your reset and same thing. You can disconnect the leads and the wildlife setting with flash green. I am thinking the battery does not have enough output to keep up with the extra load on wildlife setting.

Does it do this with everything disconnected from it, no fence and no ground connected, with everything connected up like normal, or both? Do you happen to have a digital fence tester you could test the unit or fence when it's flashing green or red? Usually the red light flashing while it's connected to the fence and ground means your have something dragging it down on fence, but I'm not 100% sure that's the issue at the moment.

I found the problem. We had a bad storm the other day and one of my strap lines had rolled behind the insulator and had it touching the post. Once corrected then the wildlife setting also flashes green. As always, thanks for your help.

Question...i have s40 when its fully charged it blinks green but when i connect ground to a metal rod and possitive to the electric wire it blinks red!...is that how it works???

Not exactly. Only if you have a bad short in the fence dragging the unit down should it show a red light with everything connected. Once things you could try and see if the unit has an internal short is hook up only the ground rod pocket and no fence, then turn the unit back on. If the unit itself is ok, then the unit should flash green still, if there's an internal short with the unit, then it'll show red flash with the ground only connected. Try that and let me know what you find.
