Fender Deluxe Reverb vs Twin Reverb: The Tone Battle You Need to Hear!

In this video, we dive into a detailed tone comparison between the Fender Deluxe Reverb and the Fender Twin Reverb, two iconic amplifiers known for their legendary clean tones. For this test, we used a *Fender Stratocaster Landau* to bring out the unique character of each amp.
The audio chain was carefully set up to capture every nuance:
Microphones:Royer 121 & SM57
Preamp: API
Converters: Universal Audio
Speakers: Jensen C12-K

The twin sounded like it had a blanket over the grill cloth compared to the deluxe, but you'd probably have to turn the twin way up in volume to get it to start blooming. Still, very surprising. Thanks!

That’s for sure! The twin always sounds best when it’s just about cutting you in half!😂 The KZbin compression really doesn’t do either amp justice but there was some really interesting nuance in the comparison around 2:05 which was probably far more pronounced in reality? Cool video nonetheless!👍

Excellent video! Is the bright switch turned off on the Twin? I didn’t expect the Deluxe to sound brighter than the Twin.

I agree. I expect more bass, but not so much less HF.

thanks for the comment. It's difficult to capture the sound and then play it online in a compressed format. However the twin is also a great amplifier.

the twin sounds warmer and boomier than the deluxe,, the deluxe kinda reminds me of a JC-120 but slightly less crisp, its definitely more for blues whereas the twin has versatility

Put a Warehouse Vet 30 in the Deluxe Reverb and remove the bright cap, and your off to the races with a great amp that is also easy to carry into gigs.
