It’s a marketing strategy. It will be something else next year.

Now THIS is Surf Green! Great looking axe! BTW: Fenders seem to LOVE a good compressor that is well adjusted! BTW#2: This guitar also has an adjustable neck heel.

Don't blame you for selling. My first build was a roasted ash and maple tele with 62 pickups. A really nice solid build with copper shielding and custom twist wires, solid brass bridge, orange drop capacitor, stainless steel frets, CTS pots, locking tuners, Plek'd, fender hardware, etc etc. It is a awesome electric guitar. The roasted wood's tonal frequency response range feels compressed to me. Like a petrified piece of wood. Not my cup of tea. Some people love it. The regular wood just sounds fuller and resonates with my whole vintage vibe better. Couldn't sell it because it was a parts caster so I gave it to someone who would love it. The last roasted part I ever buy. Though some companies do partial roasted wood. Which would be more interesting to me. Like just dry it out a little bit. But not until the cellular structure of the wood solidifies into something completely different. Personally I don't think s guitar ever really dries out completely. Not in 50% humidity, it will just stay the same forever. Roasted would be good if someone lives in an extremely dry or damp environment.

Hmm that’s an interesting perspective. I ended up keeping this one but my two main gripes are that it is a bit too modern for my taste and I am not a fan of the pickups. WAY too bright, although because of that it does have a pretty nice 2 and 4 position sound. The neck middle and bridge are pretty harsh though.

Funny, I would have thought this one would have sold quickly, but alas, I still have it. I’ll probably just end up keeping it I suppose

I would love this thing. Wow. I've been looking to sell a few and get just one nice strat US.

Good call. The American made strats hold their value quite a bit better than the imported ones too. The guitar in this vid is a great all around strat. A bit modern for my personal taste, but a great guitar nonetheless

@@thegoodguy44 Looks ugly and doesn’t suit a Strat. Fender started using this in 1987 and they also added a 22nd fret on an overhang to update the Strat. I just don’t like the 2 point on a Strat or a 6 saddle bridge on a Tele! I guess I’m old fashioned!

I have the EXACT same looking 2013 american standard strat with the same body and fretboard color. It came with custom shop Fat '50s Single-Coils.

@@NickHandleyCreativegood call. The specs from the factory are too cool. I enjoy the jumbo frets and the feel of the neck. Roasted maple with that dark rosewood board looks killer.

I just have it up on craigslist for now. I haven’t been all that motivated to sell it so I haven’t been pushing it that hard.

If we were in that movie Men in Black, this would be the moment I’d give you the memory zapper 😉😆 Ended up deciding to keep it. That said, imo, sometimes guitars have their moment that lasts forever and sometimes it’s fleeting. Doesn’t mean it’s not a nice instrument.
