I bought the player 2 hh in coral red. Upgraded from the bent steel saddles to block saddles, locking tuners, and the round string tree instead of the ugly cheap looking one. The model has a comfort cut, and a player plus neck. The neck is fantastic. I’m very pleased with the guitar. The pickups are classic humbuckers, not hot, which surprised me that I like them. With upgrades, I would recommend the player 2

Great review Jaime. Thank you. For me, I'm still rocking my "Jaimecaster". I think I'll be passing on this one for the time being.

you are such an expert! question: doubting between this and the HH version. What are benefits of the HH? less noise?
@guitarcollectorguy2 ай бұрын
Different sounding pickups and less noise. The single coil model is very quiet.

Just got a good deal on a Gen 1 Player Telecaster Body(In Tidepool) that I plan to build a project guitar with. It looks to be routed the same as the Player II. I have very specific preferences on a lot of aspects of a guitar, so I’m thinking the Player series will be a great mod platform.

I use player parts in a lot of my builds.

@@guitarcollectorguy, so far I’ve modified an Epi Les Paul Classic Worn(which needs repairs due to a faulty replacement harness) and a Squier Sonic Strat HSS(I moved it to a SSS with a rail stacked humbucker and two noiseless singles). This will be my first build effectively from scratch. I was thinking about a Humbucker-P90-Humbucker(Nashville on Steroids), but after this video, there may be other variations worth a look. Didn’t expect the option for a P90 at the neck.

Thanks for the great overview. At the moment I can't decide between the Player 2 and the Harley Benton 25TE. What would you recommend. Is the Player 2 worth 3 times the price?

I would look at the Squier 60s Telecaster Custom line. There are a lot of color available and it is middle ground to the two choices you pose. www.fender.com/en-US/squier-electric-guitars/telecaster/classic-vibe-60s-custom-telecaster/0374040500.html

I just picked up this same guitar. I swapped out the pickguard for a tortoise shell. I love how it looks.

Fender needs get on it with letting guitars go without a half way inspection , Have you looked at AIO (all in one) guitars ever?

I have not looked at them.

Hi mate, just to confirm sorry, so the neck pocket fits a P90? from the video I couldn't tell, always imagined for a Humbucker as in the 1st Player series. Cheers
@guitarcollectorguy3 ай бұрын
Yes, the neck pickup will take the following pickups - Telecaster Single Coil, Standard Single Coil, Humbucker, and P90.
@guitarcollectorguy3 ай бұрын
You will need another pickguard for whatever pickup size.

whats the neck relief and action height you used for it,
@guitarcollectorguy2 ай бұрын
For string height I like medium low so I go with 1.50mm for the low strings and around 1.25mm for the high strings. I measure top of fret to bottom of the string. Both at the 12th fret.
@guitarcollectorguy2 ай бұрын
For neck relief I use a .20mm feeler gauge for the low E and A strings. Some go with a .25 for a 9.5 inch radius neck

3,676 KG is way to heavy for a Tele ! Hopefully the chambered will be much lighter and around 3 KG !

Is there any drop-in classic 3-saddle bridge for these?
@Dragon_rls3 ай бұрын
If not, I'm sure there will be soon.

This bridge had been around for a long time. I am not aware of a drop in vintage 3 saddle bridge.

If AllParts doesn't have one, they don't make it. I have however found some success on Etsy. Bespoke bridges galore.

When you change brands of strings or string gauges you normally need to reintonate the guitar. Truss rod adjustment too.

Least expensive guitar in my collection. It gets a misappropriate amount of play time.

A crappy set up guitar is a very disappointing experience for all players. I had to just teach myself how to basically build a guitar for there is nobody in my area that could set up my guitars as a buy them .if manufacturers would spend a little more time on setup and qc would do therd job excellent instruments could be enjoyable right out of the box,
