Some of it depends I guess how good you are. Some of these ridiculous players can pick up crap guitars and execute. For me and small hands and my ability I can pull off a lot tough playing but the minute the neck isnt right or the action gets a just a little high I sound pretty sloppy at high speed playing alternate picking.

Not impossible. I think its not the playablity but the tone preference. you must admit that Metal on a PRS Mark Tremonti sounds whole lotta better than strats as strats are not generally thick djent sounding which metal music generally requires. But why buy strat if one wants to play metal. I bought a fender because I don't play metal.

I bought a Player plus top aged cherry HSS a few months ago. It is my first Fender and I love it. They are being compared favorably with the Fender American Standard series that was made between 2008 and 2016 in the USA.

Fender should just have you on their website. Anyone who doubts about razor tight tone in a strat will become as quiet as a Les Paul pricing meeting at Gibson. I just got my first strat after years of washburns les Paul's and getch. My honest opinion its the player. I was unsure about the change. I'm heading downstairs for my first experience recording and rehearsal with a strat and you, my good man , have silenced those "strats can't do this" or "are only good for..." voices permanently. Thanks for sharing your language with us. I hear it loud and perfectly clear.

I have a Hagstrom D2H that I upgraded with Seymour Duncan pearly gates pickups, new locking tuners, bone nut. Did this all to play metal and punk on….and then I got my MIM fender strat with the S1 pull nob. All SSS, not a fat strat. Let me tell you, it sounds better, it’s got a flatter neck and lower action, easier to anchor my hand for faster playing. Sounds incredible with heavy distortion thanks to the noiseless pickups. People who say strats can’t play metal are crazy.

Great Strat rock tone! Reminds me of my own beat up (in a good way) Strat that I got about a week ago. My other Strat's didn't do this. It has sizzle that reminds me of some good old PAF pickups, but with the bite and clarity of single coils. Really 'quacks'. Don't know what pickups are in it, but I guess Alnico 5. Awesome Strat.

fender stratocaster you can play any style you have tremolo bridge a great shape , good wood (alder , ash , poplar ) great sustain , and if somebody wanna install a hotrail (mini humbucker ) add floyd rose ,etc. and on Gibson you have to drill for floyd rose cavity and the Jackson , Ibanez they have all installed (some models have floyd , fixed bridge , standard tremolo like strat ) but Fender Stratocaster is the best guitar ever !

I have to ask what you did to keep yours in such great tuning despite the bends, diving and hardcore playing? a family member has been through 2 fender player strats now and both have horrible tuning stability issues, they have done everything from lubing the nut, hard tailing it, even changing the saddles on the bridge. yours seems spot on, and great playing btw! i think you just convinced me what my next stimulus is going to!

Hey Morgan, how are you? I hope well! it is a pity that this is happening ... I never had any problems with the tuning on this guitar, it has locking heads, I think it is good to invest in this as the main option ... after some time with this guitar, I changed the stock nut for brass, but I believe that this does not influence much, unless the nut of your friend’s guitar is badly damaged, it certainly ruins the tuning! one thing I always do is apply a lubricant, mix petroleum jelly with powdered graphite, help for squeals... another thing is to know the limitations of the guitar, you can't be the Kerry King with a Vintage Fender, you will end up out of tune. ..I hope it helps in something

It's honestly really good with some mods as an yngwie strat. I have one and had the neck scalloped out on a brass nut and swapped the pickups. 1000 bucks cheaper and it doesn't have the weird string spacing issue on the high e that causes slippage on the official YJM strat
