A mother shares her story of losing her 15-year-old son to fentanyl poisoning in this documentary about the dangers of illicit drugs. To use this presentation at high schools or other educational applications, contact Texas Pictures through our website at www.texas-pictures.com.
Naloxone, the active ingredient in 4mg Narcan and higher dose 8mg Kloxxado, along with many generic versions, can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available for free. Google it.

My son OD the day after thanksgiving at 3 a.m through the grace of God my daughter found him on the kitchen floor and the paramedics were able to save him. Like many of these parents I had no clue what this drug was. It’s a national crisis. Parents please talk to your children about the dangers of drugs but most importantly never cease praying for your children. I truly believe that God spared him on that day because he had heard my lament and supplication night after night. The battle we are facing is beyond the physical. It’s a spiritual war and prayer is our weapon. May God bring comfort and healing to this sorrowful mother. Thank you for sharing your story and spreading this invaluable message.

It's really sad (and sick) to see such venom in videos like these. I don't care how good a parent someone is, every child and teen still has the ability to use their freewill and make mistakes, mistakes that could sadly sometimes even become fatal (for a many number of reasons, not just what we see on this channel). My heart literally aches for you. I understand in so many ways what this poison does. I was prescribed it for many years for pain. My doctor would have kept prescribing it, which is disgusting. I decided on my own to stop. My only son is 28 and has been buying it off the street for years. I’m constantly anxious worrying about him. I have tried everything, but it’s not working. This horrible stuff is killing our future and our families. Sending love from Iowa

Maybe he's using drugs to cover up some sort of pain. Seems to be a commonality between users. The answers you get might not be what you want to hear, but if you listen, maybe he will open up. Pain is deep, and usually when we start opening up the first things we say aren't even what's truly bothering us deep down. Layers and layers of pain, emotional or physical, could be the reason for using.

She knew her underage son was using marijuana. She should have locked him down there and then. If you don’t act firmly and fast weed leads to more dangerous drugs. In her story there are quite a few red flags that he was using more than weed. How awful for these families, but if a person is old enough to lie and deceive and choose to do drugs they are also old enough to appreciate the risks. It is no one’s fault but the person who chooses to use illicit substances

Did you ask if he has interest in doing drugs, if he does drugs. Or would you get mad and punish him for admitting to want to use/ uses drugs.. that’s the real difference maker, being able to provide a substance like cannabis or brew while educating them that that is as far as their drug use should go and that it’s not cool, but if you’re gonna do drugs these are the acceptable ones.. most young humans have an innate nature to want to alter their state of mind.. music, tv, social media and the internet make it possible for your child to learn things, and it’s better to just tell them what you know and communicate about substance use effectively then to just tell them “NO!”

I belong to a few addiction/recovery groups on Reddit and have dropped your YT channel name and links a few times, especially when I’ve read the unfortunate news of someone’s loved one passing. I truly hope it has helped someone who wasn’t aware of your genuinely caring and informative channel. Addiction is not discrimatory by any means but what is most diabolical is when those (esp children) whom have only tried it once or twice (for whatever reason) are dying left and right. Something has to give. Education and knowledge (particularly for parents) is a great place to start but we are far from ending this murderous epidemic. Thank you for continuously providing real life experiences no matter how heart breaking and difficult to hear/see. ♥️ ETA: Brody was truly a beautiful boy. Inside and out. I just cannot _fathom_ losing my child. I only have one, a son, and I pray for his health and safety daily. Thankfully he is very cautious and hesitant to even take a prescribed perc, thanks to my own past, but that doesn’t mean he’s in the clear 100%. You just never ever know.
