A mother shares the story of losing her 18-year-old daughter to fentanyl poisoning.
Naloxone, the active ingredient in 4mg Narcan and higher dose 8mg Kloxxado, along with many generic versions, can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available for free. Google it.

I felt a really cold feeling from her mom she said that her daughter was asking why doesn’t her stepdad love me why doesn’t her dad love me and she tells her daughter to calm down… and 3 days and they let her go idk she didn’t even talk about how she was as a person besides the issues she had. SAD sometimes all kids want is to feel loved unconditionally

I agree. This mom gives me the Vibes of a mom that spent a lot of time worried about what her partner was about and not worried about her daughter. I'm not saying she doesn't love her daughter. But often you look at someone like her daughter who was pretty self-sufficient and you figure they can take care of themselves and you're too busy over here trying to make sure your partner is happy and satisfied excetera. I mean the fact that she was a close to her stepdad I wouldn't have more kids with someone that's not close to my kid. That's my child. You don't love and spend time and love my child like their your own I'm not having kids with you. Sorry

@@williamwilson6499the amount of fentanyl in the counterfeit pills is enough to unalive even the most seasoned of addicts. People don't know what they're buying. This substance isn't being added to everything under the sun in order to get people addicted. It's being added in amounts that k1ll. It's a systemic poisoning effort that goes much deeper than your local d0pe dealer. It's easy to say "addicts are the problem" and walk away. But we still treat people with lung cancer after they've smoked for 20 years. We still treat alcoholics with liver and stomach damage. We treat kidney patients who ignored diabetes for 30 years. Addicts need help and our resources suck. I was alone at home at age 12 when our house was robbed by people who my hero1n addict sister owed money. They probably would have redrumed me if they found me. So I'm not one of these bleeding heart simps who just says empty sh1t. But the problem, the REAL problem is way bigger than the end consumer.

Like my 22 was in an unhealthy relationship and it took a while before all of the truth came out grateful it did and I was able to get her out of it. I have no cure cancer and alot of times they think they are helping by not telling me stuff when I am in the hospital so they wait. Narcan is what brings the heart back, lady. It's used when "You're already gone" as long as the person hasn't been dead for a long time.
@TexasPictures
@TexasPictures 7 ай бұрын
The drug in Narcan (naloxone) isn't always effective for reversing an overdose. It MAY bring the heart back, but it may not. It is also important to note that naloxone can wear off before the opioid that caused the overdose wears off, resulting in a second overdose. Immediate medical care is vital after someone is revived with naloxone. Naloxone is the active ingredient in Narcan and is also available in many generics as a nasal spray. In fact, the brand name Kloxxado delivers a higher dose of naloxone than Narcan (Kloxxado-8mg per dose, Narcan-4mg per dose). Naloxone can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available in the brand name Narcan or generic versions available for free. It is important to recognize that Naloxone is the drug, Narcan is just a brand name. Whenever someone uses the word "Narcan" in place of "naloxone", they're devaluing all the other equally effective brand options and promoting a specific pharmaceutical company.
@toxic_city
@toxic_city 17 күн бұрын
You're wrong. Naloxone (Narcan) does NOT restart the heart. It binds to the opioid receptors & displaces the opioids off the receptors & reverses the respiratory depression that the opioids are causing. That's how it blocks the effects of opioids. In a patient who has become so hypoxic from their opioid overdose that they have suffered a cardiac arrest, the treatment they need is active oxygenation/ventilation with an iGel or ETT. Narcan alone will not be enough to reverse this person's hypoxia and cardiac arrest, but active airway management will. Early defibrillation & quality chest compressions are important.

Second, I just want to encourage parents everywhere to keep your children close. Show up for them emotionally and physically, at every stage of their development, so that they feel safe and secure. Advocate for their needs in the school and in their community so that everyone knows they don’t walk alone that they are surrounded by loved ones who see them for who they are and not just another statistic. And as they grow up they will feel confident and empowered to make good life decisions that will keep them healthy and safe and moving in a positive direction.🦋

Because Americans who are on drugs or pot are easier to control and don't ask questions about what their government is doing. Also, most in power are controlled by the WEF and they want to reduce the population. This way Americans are culling themselves. It's part of the plan.....

The way she speaks, I think she knows in her heart that Deli would have had a better chance of surviving if they had accepted the Narcan prescription. She rationalizes her daughter's death was destined to happen to aleve her overwhelming guilt of not having the Narcan and not checking on her sooner. The what ifs are crushing. I hope one day she can find peace knowing that none of this was in any way her fault.

The most terrifying thing that can happen to a father or a mother is to find his or her child dead. I really can’t imagine what immediate pain sets in and if I could something really good I wish I could prevent those situations. Why do many (too many) „kids“ or younger adults turn into taking pills and calling them by „funny“ names? I am 44 years old, and I had a normal childhood with a very loving mother and a very „hard“ and dominant father. When I was about 17 I started smoking weed, because „we all“ did and it was funny. The day my father found out about that he was literally furious, because when I came home he, and that is no understatement, literally beat me up… Over 15 minutes. Sadly my mother wasn’t there at the time but I guess even she wouldn’t have him stop beating the crap out of me. Many years later I asked him why he did that and his explanation was „I didn’t know what to do and I was very very angry that you started smoking weed“… One thing is for sure, even if one of my two sons will start smoking weed, I will NEVER EVER act like my father did. But, I never was interested in taking other things because I was scared to not know what I take or get, how it would influence me, and so on. The „good thing“ about this situation is, when I was 17 we had the year 1995, and at that time pills like Xanax or Oxy or whatever pill nowadays are available weren’t available at that period of time. Closing my thoughts: I do wish Delli‘s mother all the best and that she will conquer the tough times and the guilt she sometimes has. It’s so sad to hear that a young talented and skilled future artist was killed by one pill. Why are those pills around? Why do kids/young adults take a pill without knowing exactly what’s in there? Please don‘t take any pill which doesn’t come from a prescription bottle which has his/her name on it, PLEASE. Thanks @Texas Pictures Documentaries for another tragic and very sad but powerful episode. With very very sad regards from the other side „of the pond“, Philipp

So many terrible stories like this. I'm very sorry for your loss. My 19 yr old son Christopher was killed in Afghanistan in the marine corps so I know what it's like to lose a child. This was an accident. No matter what she may have been going thru I don't think she did this on purpose. It does get easier to talk about over time and the more you actually talk about it and her. Before you know it 10 years will pass without her. You have to be thankful for the time you did have her. Your memories will start to fade, the details and all that, but you'll always remember her. Good luck

As someone who has dealt with anxiety/depression since adolescence, I agree that we need to reduce the stigma around mental health conversations and teach others to be sympathetic and more understanding about our personal battles. We want to be better, but sometimes that desire takes us down dark paths from which it's very difficult to return from. My best pieces of advice: 1. Find someone you trust to talk to about your difficulties, whether it be mental health or addiction. Social support is super important. 2. Figure out a self care plan, for both good and bad days. 3. Remember that progress is never linear. Setbacks do happen, even to the best of us. Just wait out the storm, and the sun will return. I promise, it does. 4. Love yourself, and remember that your illness/addiction does not define who you are. You are you.

I'm going to say it again it was not the marijuana that started this. This young woman had deeper issues one of them being she really did not feel loved. She was looking for self medication to not feel that kind of pain inside her. This is the case of complex post-traumatic stress disorder. And I think that her mother may have been ignorant to that because a lot of people don't understand what complex post-traumatic stress disorder is and how it affects children. They don't realize that the drug is about numbing the pain rather than feeling good. And I will save while I feel awful for this grieving mother, I hope that for her other children she validates their emotions instead of telling them to calm down. Because validation is crucial in moments like this.
@TexasPictures
@TexasPictures 10 ай бұрын
There just isn't enough information in this short story for your conclusions to be from an informed perspective. Yes, of course validation is crucial, but there's also a vague and blurry line that separates validation from enabling. When my son was five his goldfish died. He cried, and we comforted him. A day or two later he asked to do something that we said "no" to. He replied, "but I'm still sad about my goldfish." We stuck with our "no" answer. Would saying "yes" have been validating or enabling, or just humoring?

@@TexasPictures With all due respect, I don't think it's right to dismiss the post in the way that you did. This video series is incredibly powerful. And that power resides in its ability to tap into the viewer's emotions and experiences. I agree with that post. I don't know this woman, but I know cPTSD. People are reacting strongly to this video as opposed to others because we know what it's like to be a kid who is hurting so badly, and to not be seen. It can take a lifetime to heal that pain, if ever. You cannot compare that to the death of a goldfish. I really hope you're paying attention, because this is the kind of pain that people self-medicate. People can learn from posts like the one you responded to.
@TexasPictures
@TexasPictures 9 ай бұрын
@@basbleupeaunoire the goldfish story wasn’t about the goldfish, but about how people learn to manipulate, even at a young age. In fact, manipulating adults is the first thing babies learn. It wasn’t my intention to dismiss the post. I felt it was substantial enough not to delete it, and to respond to it. I also felt there was substantial projection in the post. Appreciate your comments about our series.

I don’t even have anyone with a drug addiction/issue or young children and I know about fentanyl and narcan. I even ordered some free narcan for my son to have in his home for my grandchildren that have no drug issues. you just never know today. It amazes me this mother was so out of touch especially with a child that had YEARS of substance issues. I can identify with the step father syndrome this poor girl was living with. I commend this mother for making this video to help others. hopefully she will be more well informed now for her other children if they have issues with drugs.
