Thank you for the great video!! I joined WoW fairly late, in the middle of Legion, and I've been maining feral druid since then. I was terrible at it for all of Legion (I, uh, honestly didn't know how combo points worked until AFTER I hit lvl 100 lol. I genuinely just spammed buttons before then and it took boosting a 2nd feral and going through the forced tutorial to understand how it worked). There's been times I've gotten pretty good at it though, like around the height of BFA raiding where I was able to contend with some of the big damage dealers in my guild, but I was really struggling during Dragonflight, and haven't been happy with my DPS so far in TWW. So I appreciate a well-informed video breaking down the rotations and talents in an easy to understand way. Dragonflight feral in particular really stressed me out because of how fast paced it had to be. I LOVED that I was stronger on single target fights because that is my strong suit (I have sensory processing issues that make it difficult for me to maintain damage on multiple enemies), but the speed I had to press buttons to maintain decent DPS was unmanageable for me. I have tourettic OCD and my hands are pretty stiff and damaged from my hand tics and years of drawing, writing, and playing games. I was getting fucking TERRIBLE cramps during my Dragonflight raids because of how fast paced feral became in that expansion. I respect folks wanting a faster playstyle for feral, but I really appreciate that it's slowed down for this expac. It feels so much more manageable already for my hands

So, you are definitely in the right direction from what I've tested. Downloaded RaidSim and ran about 100 different build variations. In the end, I think I only changed two talents from your M+ build. I test with buffs turned off to simulate a more realistic M+ environment at 5 dungeon target dummies. I really wanted Tiger's Fury and pooling energy for bites to work, but no. The 10% haste from talent is super helpful, and Tiger's Tenacity just win at my 2nd stats anyway. Either way, I knew the WowHead M+ build was complete trash after trying it once in Heroic. I genuinely like the direction of the WW changes. I would much rather a slower, yet harder hitting pace of combat rotation where our choice matters. Rather than spamming through a fast rotation that wipes away mistakes. Though I do miss that extra melee range. I also love the overlap they've expanded across the Druid Specs with our hero talents. It's expanded the class fantasy and utility of the nature based shape-shifter. I also adore the off healing they've expanded our access too while in DPS. For example I don't have to build into astral main talent choices to get say innervate for party members. I can prioritize keeping my selfish off-healing abilities, and still reach critical party talents like innervate. All while maintaining it's competitive DPS. I also still love the new talent tree introduced in DF. Mostly I love there are multiple viable DPS builds. I never really enjoyed the old blood talons build. But I adore skills like feral frenzy and brutal slash. Keeping convoke and swarm also open up our viability and rotation choices. Having the ability to make meaningful choices in combat talents matters, and I appreciate having that ability back which was lacking for so many expansions. As for hero talents, well. I like the defensive potential and the: Apex Predator, Ferocious Bite, Ravage synergy in Druid of the Claw. I like that it doesn't add more complication to an already complicated rotation; or at least one that has the weight of choices. But, I don't have any excitement over hero talents for Druid. I appreciate the utility. For context, I've mained resto/feral since cata... And I'm happy so long as I'm welcome in M+ & Raids as Feral. For so long, I wasn't welcome as a Feral. And the new place Feral has garnered in PVE content (since Dragon Flight) is what I find most valuable. We've always been strong in PVP. But in a raid setting, it was go Resto or Boomkin, or go home. Now I can at least have a place in the raid. That has been my favorite change over the recent past.

RIP now is applied from 2 different source which have 2 different duration, is there like "gold" value under which doesnt matter if RIP was place from PW or RIP itself to utilize pandemic?

Primal wrath is for cleave and AOE, rip is for single target. You should be trying to reapply rips in their pandemic windows - less than 30% their full duration

Hey Psybear, I appreciate your vid. I would love to theorycraft a bit though about implant in the wildstalker build. I think implant is 100% mandatory for wildstalker and I highly recommend running it. It takes the RNG out of bloodseeker vines and gives you 2 guarantee vines which works fantastic with our burst. The rotation I generally run would be rake -> thrash -> brutal slash until 5 CB and to get bloodtalons, Tiger's fury -> rip -> (choice) if you have a seeker procc'd than immediately convoke if no seeker than shred -> build 5CB asap and FB with your free vine. than Convoke. After convoke your TF most likely fell off giving you another seeker and this seeker you pop berserk and repeat. Its great for both aoe and single target because of Bursting Growth. No need to tab target and find a vine when you can guarantee 2 during any pull. With Implant you can chain vines super easy with using TF in between proccs

@@Cappa-WoW in theory you'd want to be low energy but it's more important to get your cool downs going at an intelligent time in the fight. No point waiting to be out of energy and then mobs are too low for CDs to be worth etc

I rewatched a few times so I was making sure I didn't miss it, but when, if ever. do you throw in, Feral Frenzy, Maim and Mighty Bash? I'm a balance main trying out feral for the first time.

Feral frenzy will be taken in various situations depending on the sims, it's generally a nice tool for extra burst (mainly in ST but does technically have some AOE component), bash/maim can be taken whenever you feel you want more ST stun power. I generally don't take them but I should more so in m+. They're great in pvp/m+ but less so in raid generally. There's no set right or wrong answer just depends on when you might want more stun power 👍

I know you're the "feral druid" guy but from your experience what class would you say would feel great to play at max level for someone who doesnt' really do MMOs (outside of FF)? Would melee be more approachable and fun?

@@Blagno4 hey! That's a hard question to answer 🤔 I'd suggest finding something similar to what you enjoy on FF. For example, paladin, warrior, monk etc exist in both games. Generally, melee has a bit more responsibility in m+ than ranged does, but range often has more responsibility in the raid environment. Hopefully that helps! Wait, scratch all that! Just play feral 🫣

I always forget you can pre-cast Tiger's Fury when running convoke since you're just going to cap on energy anyway during its channel. I'm still confused on how Adaptive swarm actually works, so I just use it on CD. FB feels really bad outside of Tiger's Fury right now but seems to do more dmg than intended inside of it, so I'm wondering if Saber Jaws will be the way to go. I wonder if more haste is better for a dot based build where you just run with 100 energy freeing up that node. If fighting 2 high HP mobs (seems like there are quite a few of these), ripping at 2-3 CPs seems like more dmg than Primal Wrath (Priory 1st boss). As always, really insightful video.

The thing I don’t like about ravage is when u get a proc and u have no comvo points u then have to build up 5 , and the ravage buff wears off too fast. And when it procs and u have no combo points it’s like almost a knee jerk reaction to press it, which wastes it - im sure that’ll go away with playing more

Nope! That would be dynamic. You need to apply your tigers fury and blood talons BEFORE you rip.

@@antonnilsson6822 hey good question. So it will do a set amount of resto abilities, balance abilities and feral abilities. It will mostly do feral abilities. It can cast ferocious bites (at max power), rake, thrash, feral frenzy and shred. It cannot cast brutal slash or swipe.

I am confused on the pandemic window portion. When you refreshed your rip it was at 19 seconds and then extended to 31 seconds. I thought rip had to be under 8 seconds for it to be reapplied and to extend its duration. Is that not true?

It's that the MAXIMUM value it can pandemic is 30%. It's the same as if rip only had 4 seconds left and I used a new rip, it'd go up to 28 seconds not 32

Swipe is replaced by brutal slash in talents, the reason is that, brutal slash is better if you have single target.

Thrash scale with mastery and haste and isn't affected by armor. I believe unless you have very low mastery, shred deals less damage than thrash

Biggest wish for feral would be for them to remove snapshotting already, also easier for them to balance, and not so punishing for us who think its hard to calculate on the go, even with weakauras doing the math to you, you've to apply that to the gameplay, and with considering the energy, combo, placement, the mini-game on who to bite, I find it a pain in the ass to joggle with.

First, I want to say I have not played WoW since Legion. I quit after killing Kil'jaedan in heroic. I want to come back playing Feral. I like fun but I also have a very competitive personality so I like playing with numbers. For the past 3 weeks, I have been observing and reading what the Feral community say about the status of Ferals. The sources include warcraftlogs, wowhead, and KZbin, and sometimes I just google it if those sources don not answer my question. So far, I have learned players just have different standards when it comes to Ferals. I am more interested in the numbers part because It is harder to put metrics on emotions. Now my question. This is about after 11.0.2 pre-patch so before then is irrelevant to my question. My questions is about the spec talent tree of Ferals. To me, most of the players showing it on videos and logs are spending talent points on abilities that does less DPS output. My example is choosing Rip&Tear/Apex over Carnivorous Instinct. After doing some math of a log of an ilevel 528 Feral on a mythic boss and keeping over 90% uptime on rake, rip, and thrash on a 150 second encounter, Carnivorous Instincts would contribute 8.7 million damage and Rip&Tear 1.4 million(15% damage of less than 150 seconds of rip) and Apex 1.39 million (triggers only 2 times in 150 second fight). Has anyone done avalid and accurate SIM on this? Why is no player using Carnivour Instinct? There are other cases but I want to keep the question simple.

Both buffs all abilities and TF bonuses have longer uptime than FF meaning CI will affect all damages more often than SF because FF has 45 second cooldown. I may be wrong but with a 20 second TF duration, doesn't that give TF only 10 seconds to activate again for another 20 seconds? Compare that to the set with FF at 45 second cd and SF only lasting 8 seconds. In other words CI is better than the set or very close. I just feel confused. Is my math wrong or assuming anything? Like I have asked already, has anyone SIM this?

@@domoneeko6723 cool to see you getting so invested! That'll serve you well in future. To answer your question, I'd say only 2 apex procs in 150 seconds sounds incredibly low. Did you compare with other logs? Apex should amount to more than that generally. Without knowing the exact fight, rest of the build etc it can be hard to answer exactly why but generally apex is a good choice to have. There is for sure build variance in feral so I'd have to have more information to answer accurately. Great question though, let's see how builds look in 11.0!

Just use warcraftlogs and filter smartly. I recommend logs after 8/13, ilevel 528+, damage, feral, pre-patch, and mythic. I compared the top ferals with bleed uptimes over 90%. Take your pick.

I detest snap-shotting. This mechanic is one of the worst in WoW. I wish Blizzard would remove this. Having to worry about your energy, combo points, and snapshotting, while doing mechanics is just ridiculous. It would be good if managing all that rewarded you with insanely high damage, but all you can say is that it.. good. It's good damage. Not great. Not bad. Just good.
