I'm learning so much from you. Did you learn to ferment as a child, or when you were grown? My childhood self didn't even know about home fermenting. My husband's grandmother made crockpot pickles and sometimes, sauerkraut. But alas, that was before I knew her. When I took a fermenting course at the Folk Center in Mt. View, Arkansas, most people thought I was taking a course in beer making for crying out loud. I have learned now that about anything can be fermented for eating. I will definitely be making this recipe. Looks like a very useful and even necessary thing to keep. Thanks!!
