Yeah, you know - it's what happens with no budget. But we had fun making it, and a lot of people enjoyed playing it to! It was all for love and nostalgia. If we had the money to go and polish it, I would!

I remember being quite impressed with this remake. Reminded me of the remake of the first game. I guess that is why so many want a VGA remake of 3 which never saw VGA.

wow! my sincere compliments about this! just started a space quest binge and finished watching sq1 vga (which i played many years ago) and i was pleasantly surprised seeing a sq2 vga remake in the youtube list :-) i didnt even know there was one! and watching now for about 15 minutes i am very pleasantly surprised again, very good job sirs and ladies!

The sound, music and graphics are spot on and could pass for an official Sierra remake 90% of the time here, a pretty fine achievement for a no-budget fan game! Gameplay is a lot of fun too, even gags like skipping the tentacle vine monster by blowing it up! The voice acting isn't my cup of tea, though (Roger sound almost Larry Laffer like, and the narrator sounds like their voice was run through a voice changer rather than finding a closer match to Gary Owens. I guess I've got the official Roger and Narrator voices too ingrained in my head for these to work, especially as they're not even close soundalikes. That said, I grew up without voices in my adventure games most of the time, though, so happy to play this with speech turned off.

That is a great remake of a classic game and yes fuck that tenticel puzzle. If only you could do that in the OG game. It's too bad the Space quest 3 remake didn't happen but I know games aren't free to make and they take a ton of time. I love the space quest series and I loved this. makes me want to play the old games again. Space quest 3 is still fantastic on it's own. the music is amazing especially if you have the MT-32 music. great work guys.

The company that made this did not remaster SQ3 - not yet, at any rate. They would later make "Quest for Infamy" - an anti-hero take on Quest for Glory - and last I heard it got a console release. No idea what they're currently working on, but I'm assuming they're more likely to do a sequel to their own commercial IP than continue making freemakes off old Sierra titles.

Geez, Mark - sorry you didn't like it! - Family Values - Space Quest was always one series that pushed the boundaries. Let's not even bring up games like Phantasmagoria. Or even earlier titles, like the Manhunter series which had gore. Any gore in this game was pushed for humours sake, in the vein of Monty Python. - Crash/Splat - yeah, I realized that later. We made a minor change. Sorry. - Boy, sorry it wasn't funny. We had a good time making it and paying homage to one of our favorites.

I've played the first two Space Quests and I never noticed anything like this remakes's obsession with blood in the original games. A similar thing for the King's Quest 3 Reamke happens where in the original getting a spell wrong would make your ears grow. In The Infamous Adevntures remake your head also explodes.

don't care about the voice...this game was amazing for how it was loyal to the original but improved the appearance of almost everything and made several moments better or slightly easier (such as the tentacle maze or crawling through the mine)

I prefer the text, honestly. For example, taking a breath in the swamp wasn't automatic. One had to think it out first, instead of clicking on the character to get the answer.

Huh. The voice actor for Roger seems a tad bit off. He sounds a bit more whiny and young than Jeff Bender or William Hall. And that was the worst Gary Owens impression I've ever heard... It's almost like someone used an automated voice generator for the narration. I absolutely cannot complain about the graphics, music, and most importantly, the gameplay though. This looks like a really solid remake of a Sierra classic!

And on another note, it works for me. This is space quest two, just Roger's second crack at this adventuring thing. Besides, it's before those two guys from Andramoda could build any tech to handle Wilco's theatrical internal monologue, much less lack luster vocal portrayal of his supposed ingenuity, bravery and... Cleverness.

maybe biased cause i am a big monkey island fan as well, but i find roger a 'brother to guybrush' visually, and the voice of vohaul reminds me of earl boen voicing lechuck (if these things were intentional (or not hehe), my compliments :-)) edit: even the jungle music starting at 15:40 would be perfectly fitting in a monkey island game :-)

final message I swear, whenever I play this I find that I can't finish it cause the DAMN alien keeps appearing when u try and get into the escape pod, he's running around the hallways loose everywhere and makes it impossible to get onboard. i always wish in the improved version of this game the red guards outside vohaul's chamber (the ones you fry with electronics) had more of a part...like maybe after the acid pit scene one of them tries to walk toward you and so you have to hurry with the sprinkler bit.

agree. It lacked refinement. It is an obvious improvement to the AGI version BUT the final results is not on the par of space quest 4 level. A great deal of backgrounds looked messy without detail, and some music tunes played for the greatest part of the game are not so catchy.

i agree. Besides, the final result is a very good game and very likeable. What could be changed? the soundtrack i think is the weakest part. Graphics could be upgraded with a smaller priority. It has the potential to be excellent if proper tweaks take place in later versions.

Bad voice acting, mediocre music and okay graphics. Also, way too many red-herrings later on in the game. Also, the speed control is very finnicky. And I don't care whether or not this is a fan-made game made with no budget. It's still mediocre at best. :-( The only real positive is the more modern interface.
