Also there is a deluxe version with some other songs and she did an AMAZING cover of Lady Gaga's 'Dance in the Dark' that I highly recommend.

You know what’s really interesting about some of your comments? They are exactly what Rina said about some of the songs in the album. Like when you said during Who’s Gonna Save You Now, on the behind the scenes of the album she stated that the point was to feel like you were in a stadium full of people, she wanted to make the song BIG. You’re so on point on noticing things ❤️

Can't wait to see what you think (good or bad!) This was my top album of last year. Also this is unrelated but I've noticed reaction culture is kinda toxic. Not the reactors themselves, but the people who comment and demand reactions. It's kind of odd to me, like people will comment on a reaction video and not say anything about the reaction. Instead they just request/demand more reactions. As someone who loves watching reactions because I don't have a lot of friends with similar music tastes, I enjoy these because I feel like I get to experience the music with another person almost like a friend.. and maybe that's how some other people feel too, but for some people it feels like they just want to see the reaction just to see it. Like did they even take it in or are they just trying to promote people they stan lol idk idk. Long-winded but just a thought that was on my mind because I know you've talked about all the requests you get, so I just wanted to say that I appreciate your reactions and all the time you spend reacting and editing and putting this stuff on KZbin for free - despite all the hurdles with copyright claims and people being over demanding. Yeah xD thanks ~
@joogies3 жыл бұрын
Oh and if someone is here who is a person who usually only comments telling creators to react- I'd love to hear from your point of view. I'm not saying *everyone* who does this is toxic or a bad person, just that it can create an uncomfortable environment for some creators in this medium.

@@joogies I wrote a reply and it went all strange and got cut up haha !! I will try again !
@FernStone3 жыл бұрын
So yes, I said what a profound, fair and empathetic comment , including your bit in the reply section ! At first when I saw people comment requests like this so bluntly I would be happy because It meant people wanted to see more from me. Which was great when I was first starting ! Now it can feel a bit robotic . like I am the robot or the "dancing monkey" for a lack of a better term. It's hard to gage what people think about the video through just another song request 😂😂 However , on videos like this , before it has started I will get a few comments requesting music but I believe they do that so when the video gets started their comment will be seen by me and others first so they can possibly be voted up so I do it quicker if it becomes a popular request. If that makes sense ! For other reasons , I try to take many things into consideration... age, language, personality type, culture, disability.... all of which might or might not apply. I have to try not jump into the negative and just be happy people want to see more ... I think haha !! but the comments where people express their thoughts and love make me so happy ! I love connecting with you all and hearing why you love the music .... also what you liked about my reaction too !! always nice to get good feedback on your work haha ! Feel like I could go on and on !! but that is my main opinion ! Hope you enjoy the reaction and thank you for this awesome comment that shows great observation and care

The album was a masterpiece, this is what I had got from listening to some of the songs. Dynasty is about family and generational trauma, XS is about capitalism and materialism. STFU! was about microaggressions (it's easier to understand this once get watch the music video.) I believe Comme de carsons was to do with breaking gender stereotypes. Akasaka Sad was to do with generational trauma but also how she kinda feels disconnected to Japan since Rina did grow up in Europe. Bad Friend is obviously about how she feels like she is a bad friend but one take that I heard from a friend is that when you listen to the song you kind of get the sense that something is missing in the song which is possibly how Rina may feel in some friendships. Snakeskin was sort of Rina's way of giving the world the pain through the song and the album. Overall I absolutely loved the album, thanks for the reaction!

I love Rinas album smmm AHHHHHHHHH. The reason why xs had a mix of generes was because the R+B Style is meant to mirror the joys of living an excessive life, and the rock guitar riffs are representative of the dark underbelly of an excessive lifestyle, that rina talks about in the bridge “oh me oh my, where did it go awry? When all this time, heaven was in our eyes, so say goodnight, forget about it till the end of time”
@HaienTwitch2 жыл бұрын
The record label did not want STFU to be on the record, but it was the song that got me into Rina Sawayama. I come from Norway (the homeland of black metal) and I would have never gotten into her as an artist if it had not been for that song and music video. I have a group of friends were we show each other a different artist every week and she has been one of my favorites to show other people. It's so fun to watch people react to her.

I tell you, I never liked this kind of music until I heard this album, and it’s a very good entry point to get used to it. Also, if you’re not comfortable with the subject of abuse and anything in that kind of subject, be very careful or don’t even listen to this album, because she talks about her experience with it in very harsh and sad ways.
