It was supposed to be Maserati Coupe/Spyder replacement, but the car cost so much to develop, that they put Ferrari badge on it to justify the price tag. It actually kind of look like the Maserati Gran Turismo from the front, and the overall shape is the reminiscent of the Maserati Coupe (or the Spyder).

My dad just bought a 2012 california and it is perfect. Everybody saying its shit or ulgy your either blind or jelous, it is fun to drive and amazing looks wise. Its not ment to be a track car its ment to be a fun to drive car that you can put golf clubs in the back or go on a road trip. And its definetly not a girl cars its just that girls will feal more cofortable driving it. I've driven in many exotics and the california is one of my favorites. That is all

Good review. The California is made for the American (United States that is). They do and will be dressing like that. Well probably fatter and not as well dressed so, it will never get over 80mph or corner near race track conditions. Well done Ferrari!

why not just get an aston martin then a ferrari california, all aston martin models will do the same as a ferrari california, get a normal ferrari and an aston martin dbs if you want the california feel lmao thats why Ferrari makes ferraris and aston martin makes aston martins its like saying a camero is making a lexus or something it doesn't make sense.

Who on earth thinks that a car made by Ferrari isn't a Ferrari??? I would say you obviously don't know anything about Ferrari's history because this car pushes the limits for a GT car and thats the very essence of Ferrari! Its not supposed to be the typical bred for the track supercar. If you don't remember or know Ferrari started by making GT type cars! Bit of film history to, just watch Ferris Buelor's Day Off and tell me that Ferrari is a mid engine track monster.
