Dear Festo, I just want to express to you, how much of an inspiration you are to me. I find your approach and your designs fresh, invigorating, and extremely efficient. One day, I would love to tour your facilities and talk to some of your designers about philosophies and approaches you've used. Now, I'm off to work on my own robotic tail.

It is amazing what you've created with the inspiration from nature, and yeahh, I also thought about Dr. Octopus, but maybe his robotics arms were not as real as this ones. I've followed the Bionic Tripod for a relatively long time, and the level of development you have reached is fantastic. Congratulations, and hope to hear about more research in biomechatronics from you Festo!!!

It's amazing to see in reality things that in your childhood were pure science-fiction.

It is obviously an elephants trunk. It doesn't look and work anything like an octopus' tentacle. It would have to be stretchy and even more agile.

It was a reference to something you are clearly not getting. Search KZbin for "Doctor Octopus" or "Spider-man 2", and you'll get the joke.

"Inspired by an elephant's trunk" my ass. They don't want to admit "inspired by Doctor Octopus"

@skraddypoo YOu know in like 10 years people will see Spider-man 2 and think 'heh, it's not that special, I've seen many people with those arms.' Scary.

Oh, I get it now. I didn't associate it with this. When I read "Spider man 2" it was obvious.

@ronpack ronpack Your hate and ignorance is worse than the evils you see in science. #1 It's all about love, kindness, respect and gratitude. Whatever we humans do to build has to serve the purpose of #1. Science is just a form of truth that has helped us live more comfortable lives. It has freed us from the many enslavement's that mother earth has wrought. However, don't be led into the culture that Science has the answer for everything. It is ultimately just a technology that serves mankind.

Wait until they get inspired by humans. Will they make a machine with free will as human is? And all the power and rights :P
