+Darla Bond hi, I don't use a box mix if thats what you mean, I bake from scratch. The recipe is linked to in the description box, but you could use an all butter pound cake recipe too. Hope that helps.

This is gorgeous and I can't wait to try it out! What is the purpose of the simple syrup? Does it help reduce the amount of crumbs? Would it change the flavor of the cake/icing?

+Alexandra Keanini glad you like it! The syrup helps keep a denser cake recipe like this one tender and moist inside. If you use fruit syrup like I did it does add a little flavour too 👍🌹

Is the “scoring” then cutting the cake absolutely necessary? Because my cakes aren’t thick enough to cut because of my cake tins

antaylor2007 I have actually used the spray- many times- made by Wilton- and it always worked great for me!!! I only used it on chocolate cakes though bc they have a tendency to accumulate more crumbs and tear. :-)

+Chelsea Philgreen thanks! No I don't freeze, just chill in the fridge so the cake is cold but not frozen. Frozen cake would give you problems when it thaws!

Set power to 50% and timer to 5 seconds. I cant help you any more if you still don't understand, you need to look at your microwave user guide 🌺

Hi! I discovered your KZbin channel and website last night when i was researching how to make naked cakes! I'm just wondering, with the recipe you share for naked cakes, could I use gluten free all purpose flour instead? Thanks so much, Jade

+Jade Crawford hi, welcome! I haven't tried this recipe with gluten free flour, you could give it a go, but you may need to add a bit more liquid if that's what your brand of gf flour says on the packet (Doves Farm flour for example requires something like an extra tbsp of milk/water for every 50g flour used). Gf cakes tend to be more delicate so you may need to be more careful. Good luck & let me know how it goes! 🌸👍

Great video! Can I just ask with the cream cheese style buttercream can you use regular Greek yogurt or does it have to be fat free? Many thanks.

+Carrie Baxter hi, fat free is needed to maintain the fat to water ratio in the emulsion. If you wanted to use full fat you'd need to reduce the butter accordingly 🌸

+Michelle Nguyen hi, really depends on the number of servings you need. I would suggest 2" difference between successive tier sizes, you can always stack your cake pans together to see what that looks like. Good luck! 🌼🌼

+Rosanna Lancaster 5" and 7" round cakes. There's no one answer to how many people that feeds, it depends how big you want your serving sizes to be and how you cut the cake 🌼

Great assembly video, but DO NOT use 6" pans for the cake recipe provided! Or at least don't use all of the batter unless you want a burnt overflowing mess in your oven.

+Carrie Paul you must be using very shallow pans my dear, or have made a mistake in the quantities, because of all the hundreds of times I and other people have made this cake nobody else has complained of this. I use proper cake tins, 2 or 3" deep each, and have had no problems!
