If you speak to the summoner trainer you will learn that the Allagan first encountered Primals on another Continent out side of Eorzea which confirms the existence of Primals in other Continents. Also, the current 2.2 story has given me some possibilities that the Garlean Emperor may have the Echo and can transfer his soul and take over other people's bodies like that Sahagin. If not then he either controlling things from behind the scene after he faked his death or he really did die of old age since he is old after all. 2.0 story already mentioned the high tension happening in the Garlean Empire due to the Emperor's old age and lack of a successor.

This is what I'm guessing. The Emperor “died” and used the Echo to jump to a new body. The war of succession broke out at this time due to confusion but was quickly put down when the Emperor revealed that he was “still alive” The Empire then used this as an opportunity to smoke out rebellion. It just makes sense considering that this aspect of the Echo was revealed in 2.2 along with the news of the war. Also this is fairly standard plot for a Final Fantasy game, just use the unsent in X as an example of the series doing a similar plot. Also remember that the Empire was very keen on researching the Echo, also the fact that primals can destroy “Echo souls” or whatever you want to call them can be a big explanation for why the empire is so obsessed with destroying primals.

The next primal will have the element of life to him, then a huge battle will take place Titan, Ifrit, Garuda, Leviathan and the new primal will combine their powers and create an all new primal that will destroy Garlamond and their polluting ways. He will also have green hair and a mullet.

Square Enix likes to "reincarnate" their super villains for some reason. Given that he introduced magitec my theory is that he's going to become some sort of magical cyborg doomsday device. He has no lack of motivation considering he's sick and dying and wants the power to defeat the primals, becoming his own doomsday machine seems like a "two birds with one stone" scenario.

I'll need to research it some but I can't help but think I heard that Cid was supposed to be next in line. With him leaving, that would explain why who's next in line would be in such chaos.

Remember that we have Sting look-alike, Nero tol Scaeva, running around still :) He is very vengeful, wanting to still best Cid and prove his worth. After seeing him snoop around the Crystal Tower, I wouldn't be surprised if that leads onto something that ties-in with what has happened in 2.2.

Or it could mean that there is a war of succession, but that doesn't mean the empire isn't still capable of crushing a small uprising. Even that could be wrong, one thing that is certain is that it isn't DEFINITELY that it was either a ruse to draw out dissenters or that someone else took power.

I like how this story seems to be panning out. It is very reminiscent of, oh I don't know, Final Fantasy X! The idea of keeping Spira going by maintaining Maester Mika and Yevon sounds all too familiar in ARR. It would make for a great unfolding of the story in my opinion, but I'm sure we can all speculate many twists until the writers and devs put it in-game.

I think it will have to do with echo scene with levithan how the priest was killed and soul transferred to another and took shape and mind. I think the ascians (sorry about spelling) taught him to use this. So he might have died and a succession war started but his soul transferred and basically took control again. But just my two cents.

Justin Baker Having the Emperor get transformed into Chaos from Final Fantasy One would make for a pretty cool boss fight. Since you know, that Happened to Garland in that game. They seem pretty keen on putting a fresh spin on stuff from their older games so why not.

I believe it may be to play on the people who wish to rebel against the Garlean Empire but not by the Emperor himself. I believe he probably is actually sick but the person who is succeeding him has already done so, we are just being made to believe that succession is in turmoil. Whoever succeed the Emperor is trying to weed out any seeds of Rebellion that might be in the Empire to strength the Garlean Empire itself.

Thank you for this vid xD i skipped through the stories and some rushed. HW was the only story i watched through but wasnt that important as ARR and Stormblood xD i wanted to get to the good parts of the game so i rushed not understanding in depth the story of F14 which i later on regret coz it became interesting. Im hoping one day though i know time consuming and a lot of effort make an all in one in depth story til stormblood finishes. Its difficult to resist not rushing to the game coz you have to catch up but the downside is not fully appreciating it. I know patches take awhile and it took years but all the walking and talking just pressed me to see how great the game is which i only saw later at stormblood, sacrificing the lore

I think the concept art is kinda cool but we'll never meet the guy unless we travel to the past Eorzea. It's funny, we can't always predict what SE is planning with this game but the idea you mention can also be a possibility- "it was to lore out" and he could still be alive. Dead or alive, the story must go on!

Here's some food for thoughts. Most of it is probably refutable, but I'm throwing I think that there must be a good reason for the empire to try to take over Eorzea so hard that they'd go and blow it up with Bahamut. Let's remember that the empire does not seek to eradicate Eorzea, but to control it, as seen in the level 46 story quest. Whenever I hear Garlean empire, I remember the Baron empire in FF4. There's gonna be a big plot twist, and one of the Garlean empire's greatest men will go rogue. We've seen something like that already with Cid Garlond. Does his name feel too similar to Garland? Also, the whole Primals thing will eventually not be a problem anymore for Eorzea. Let's see what usually happens in Final Fantasy games. You have a problem, a bigger problem solves your first problem, an enemy becomes an ally, a higher force that was your ally(or your character's leader/king/god or whatever) becomes an enemy and turns out to be one of the biggest issues of all, because that's when you feel like all might be lost. Those are the MAIN things that happen in most final fantasy games that I played, as far as I can remember. I can see the Garlean empire knowing a bigger threat is looming, and they're trying to protect themselves with the Ultima weapon, which requires fuel in the form of the Primals. Everything I just wrote might be stupid, and I won't be angry at anyone who says it is.

My speculation. He became a god king similar to the emporer in warhammer 40k. Tho not the mostly dead part were it not for 1m phykick users that are sacraficed a day... Or something. I think he somehow mimiced the power we saw with laviathan. After all. White armor bitch face wanted to harness echo and technicly can be bistowed at any point. Non the less harnessed and transferrd intoba new body. Or used magitec to make a new body. And the war is succession...band caused him to go mad and people wont take it any longer.

you know its funny, since the primal threat in Eorzea was caused by the fight between the Invincible and Midgardsmor, the Garleans are half to blame for the primals...though i guess without them the Garleans would just stomp us :/

NothingsAssassin PLOT TWIST! We defeat Cloud of Darkness as the Final boss in CT storyline and after her defeat we see Omega Weapon. The Nero appears on Omega and blows up the top part of CT and escapes with Omega to set the stage for Omega as the final boss of 1st expansion storyline! :p

Tecinly eozea is not united and they arent safe from the gaerlans, the north of eozea is still in their domain. and lol After ultima, taking back the lost places of ezoea is so big deal compared to that?? xd
