Did you all remember that at the Azim Steppe for The Great Hunt Rathalos quest, when you are searching for rathalos, a NPC talks to you and says there is a dragon at the Steppe, on top of the mountain Snowpierce, but it does not go by the name of rathalos. So maybe Vrhta is hiding on the himalayas? lol

Who's hyped for Vrtra appearing in the endwalker trailer?
@erickortschak38048 жыл бұрын
Great video! I enjoyed the collaboration with Ethys, and hope to see you guys come together on more stuff. Quick note, though - based on the Encyclopedia, it seems that Dalmasca is in Ilsabard, not Othard (although Rabanastre has been confirmed by Koji to be an Othard nation). I know the little blurb on Othard makes it a bit vague, but both the 6th Astral timeline and the section on Garlemald place Dalmasca in the dividing mountain range of Ilsabard, which makes me think that the Othard paragraph conflated them based on the necessity to conquer them by airship, not their geographic location.

I seem to recall it being mentioned in game by one of the Domans (I think it was Yugiri) that there actually are dragons in Othard. So... theory confirmed?
@Azdaja138 жыл бұрын
I just replayed that section of the story on my alt and it was Higiri who said that. Not only does she point towards which continent Vrtra might on, but also she did say there were dragons near her homeland. So we can eliminate Yanxia, leaving Dalmasca and the Azim Steppe (and other unknown regions of Othard) as possibilities. Personally I think the latter, sounds like a decent wilderness for Vrtra to hide in, but can't be sure. :D

SKnight8046 A brood of Dragons aren't going to be doing much hiding in a steppe, since it's mostly open grassland.
@Azdaja138 жыл бұрын
Darth Sanguine True, I guess that does just leave the mountains in northern Othard. I'm hoping for some Au Ra - Vrtra connection, still possible I guess.
@DarthSanguine8 жыл бұрын
SKnight8046 The lore book hints at a connection between the Au Ra and Bahamut & Tiamat. The Au Ra were created by the Dawn Father & Dusk Mother, and Bahmut & Tiamat were known as the Dawn Wyrm & Dusk Wyrm respectively. The rumored third clan could be Vrtra's though.

From what we've learned since the upload of this video, it looks like Vrtra was living in Thavnair, both due to it showing up there in the Endwalker trailer and the culture of Thavnair looking very Indian-inspired.

It's interesting how back then based on mythology the best guesses was that Vrtra would be antagonistic, but he is by far the most altruistic and philanthropic of all the dragons, even Hraesvelgr with his love of Shiva was skeptical of being chill with humans and had to really be convinced to collaborate while Vrtra actively loves humans.
@maelys1997 жыл бұрын
Interesting how the two remaining children may potentially be in the two locations we get to visit in Stormblood. In the interview Mr. Happy did with Yoshi-P, Yoshida did mention that Dravanian involvement in Stormblood is "in the cards" but may be later than sooner. Maybe Hraesvelgr knows where his siblings are, and sees merit in helping Eorzea liberate their homelands from the nation trying to, or maybe already is, imprisoning them?
@IceAokiji3038 жыл бұрын
A note about assigning these two names to the two remaining dragons in the "family portrait": Wouldn't the names fit better the other way around? Ethys' video on Azdaja had a picture looking an awful lot like the top right one. Unless, of course, it has officially been confirmed that it's your way around.

How come Mr happy stoped doing the overviews after 2.5 honest I am trying to get to max but pay as much attention as possible but having the Story overviews was a massive help to me anyway being able to rush and still have an understanding of the story was brilliant hopefully some time he might get back into making them. Fingers crossed

What about that tower that looks allagan in the ruby sea? What are the chances it connects to something similar as Azylis la (sorry for spelling) and that's where the dragon is at? Just speculating

I'm actually kinda upset that Shinryu isn't one of Midgarsormr's children, unless Shinryu (the true Shinryu, aka, the Dissidia one) is equal to that of FFXIV's Midgarsormr.

I thought about another Azys Lla as well. If at some point we go under water you can surely expect an allagan facility there and as far as lore goes the Allagan conquered the four corners of eorzea and expanded their domain further beyond so it's safe to bet they, at that time, conquered the entire star. I mean who would oppose them if they already captured and slaved beings with infinite power like the Warring Triad? The dragon might be captured in one of those facilties or even corrupted by the ages.

Before anyone annoys me with stupid comments, this is just a question for Mrhappy. Do you think that the Au Ra were created by Bahamut and Tiamat? Before anyone says that's this is a stupid question, let me explain something. I said created by Bahamut and Tiamat, not born from dragons. This means artificially created. The fact that we know that dragons don't have a major body mass difference is obvious mention, same with the enhance hearing and spatial recognition. What I'm asking is if the two dragons could have been made to be a form of warrior and/or servitude beings for the young dragons. This, of course, would be if they were made before Bahamut became a Primal. If you're not Mrhappy, then I'm not even going to acknowledge your comment.
@thehighwayman31228 жыл бұрын
While this is an interesting point, I do believe that Bahamut and Tiamat aren't likely to be the Au Ra's creators. The Au Ra's articles on the Heavensward lore section on the FF14 website states that the race hails from Othard, not Meracydia. So, taking Mr. Happy's video into account, I would guess that, if any of the First Brood had a hand in the Au Ra's creation, it would have been Vrtra, not the Meracydian Monarchs.
@KAvanAlten8 жыл бұрын
I'm going to answer anyway, but with a serious answer: in the creation myth of the Au ra they speak of a 'Dawn mother and a dusk father', without being specific about who these people (if they where people at all) where.
@thehighwayman31228 жыл бұрын
Krijn van Alten "Dawn Mother and Dusk Father" sounds like another name for Hydaelyn and Zodiark.
@KAvanAlten8 жыл бұрын
Liam Jordan It does. But there is no 100 % clearense on who these people are. And they are froma creation myth, so wirhin the in game reality they might be more mythological than actual beings. But than again its a Final Fantasy, so we might encouter them at some point when we go further eastwards in 5.0 or later.
@TowelRanger8 жыл бұрын
JaQuan Millery I'd like to add that based on the small amount of info on them in the lore book: I don't have mine right in front of me, but upon recollection, there is no mention anywhere in their history of serving dragons. They (I'm assuming primarily Raen) were retainers for Doma Lords at some point and (mostly the Raen) assimilated into cultures. Also what business would the Meracydian Monarchs have had fighting each other in Othard?
