FFXIV - Euphrosyne Raid Guide (Patch 6.3, 24 Man)

I really love how the music in this alliance raid series has been upbeat and reflects the fact that we're just having a friendly battle with gods who love and care for us and want to see us thrive. It's chill and kind of refreshing if I'm being honest.

@@ich3730 isn’t the shield enough? Shield-sword? And it’s not supposed to be a *perfect* “resemblance.” Remember, the quests post-raid fill us in a bit more. The image of these gods started to slowly ‘change’/have slight variation as time passed and/or depending the culture you see and hear from. Even in the early levels of PLD, it had Halone-named abilities. Our signature Blade combo? It only makes sense it was also influenced from Halone stylistically.

I'm enjoying fighting the Twelve. There becoming my favorite 24 man raid. Plus I can see each of their personalities just by their attacks. From Byregot's attacks all the way to Menphina's. Also I love how she summons Dalamaud to help her out. Though my favorite fight is Halone. From her attacks, her voice, and her ultimate attack. She just brings me joy. I'm looking forward to seeing the final 3..just why..why do we have to wait 8 months for that.

I like how Menphina 's move sets involve the moon in some way, and her fight song is eerlier similar to what you would hear in a Sailor Moon intro.

First three fight are fun, but why is the last fight only half room cleaves, when halone is already pushing it. Felt so monotonous even on the first playthrough. Also missing any "trick" mechs, like the rhalgr meteor to trip up first playthroughs. Second boss was def the highpoint for me personally. Very impressive visually though, so overall I'll say it's a good ally raid, though not quite on aglaia level

Definitely an improvement over Aglaia which I found was way too simplistic. Also, the Twelve designs and music was great.

Regarding Halone's Tetrapagos, because the same attacks are always done once each in some order (left, right, pb, donut), what I tend to do is just take note of where the first two attacks will be, and move into those areas after the respective attacks are made. (ex: if the first two attacks are pb and left, I start out and right, then after pb happens I move in, and after left happens I move left. At that point you know you'll be safe from the third and fourth attacks, so there's no need to pay any attention to what they were. Just watch out for the 5th attack if it's later on in the fight and it's Tetrapagos Thrust being used instead.)

14:00 the moon definitely isn't always north. In fact, as you say "to the north" on this second one, you're literally looking south-west towards it, according to your minimap. It's any cardinal or intercardinal, aligning with the cross-hatch of lines on the arena.

When the debuff is active (usually 2-3 seconds I think) , if you attack or move you'll suffer a nasty bit of damage. So if you were moving/attacking, it could outright nearly kill you/probably would depending on your health at the time. Best way to counteract it is to stop attacking, and put away your weapon at the moment. Keyboard/PC its by pressing Z, not sure on controller. To cover it's polar (ha get it because ice) opposite, Deep Freeze, you HAVE to be moving when it expires else you get frozen. Unable to move, and you'll get a few ticks of damage like when you move for pyretic. These are a few 'normal' mechanics that you'll see in some fights, the one that stands out to me at least off top of my head is Deltascape V4.0, the first tier of the Omega Raid.

If you've done the 24-man Aglaia raid, and the "myths of the realms" quest line, then there should be a quest in mor dhona given to you by Deryk that starts the quest line for the new raid

I wish there was more to Althyk and Nymeia. The first time I ran it I thought "I have no idea what's happening but I'm not dying". The second time through I realized that just nothing was happening. And while I'm not usually one to complain about difficulty, this one was easier than Aglaia, imo at least, and I think that's a bit of an issue. Honestly, I think the first 3 fights and _especially_ Menphina could all use some more dangerous mechanics. Still think its fun though. The spectacle of it was amazing.

its sad that 24 mans are devolving into braindead spectacle fights... Just join in once a week, look at the booba and flashing lights, step out with welfare gear. Its honestly useless to make this guide about it, who watches guides for this content and spoils the spectacle for themselves, the *only* reason you are there in the first place.

It's because everyone is overgeared for this raid. It's ilvl is only 595. At this point, most players are ilvl 620 or higher. Powercreep and overgearing are two major issues this game has

@@ich3730 24 mans in FF have always been this game's version of LFR combined with a way to catch up on gear level with your alt jobs. They aren't supposed to be ball bustingly hard.

My first time through it seemed like we hit an enrage with Halone because we didn't break the spears fast enough but I've never had that happen again so I cant confirm what that actually was

That's just a classic add phase thing. Defeat the adds before the boss' bar fills up, or you lose.

it's weird the hard enrage didn't work for them when I did my first run, the buff faded on them but we were able to still beat them

I have a theory that, now when we've fought 9/12 of the KNOWN deities, and we know that Thaliak, Llymlaen & Oschon will be part of the last Alliance Raid (which probably will be called Thalia), but Alliance Raids have 4 bosses, meaning there's a 13th unknown deity. I think it might be Hythlodaeus who's the 13th. Either that or Azem, but Azem seems quite unlikely.

Well, they already said in the story, or conjected at least, that the Watcher on the Moon is the unnamed 13th. I think that's probably the safest bet. I doubt it could be Hythlodaeus or Azem. Hythlodaeus became part of Zodiark before the world was even sundered, and we saw his soul pass on with Hades at the end of EW. Azem, for one, didn't join Venat's group. And for two, since they passed on their soul to us, that would heavily imply that they aren't around anymore.

I think it's Deryk. Think about how he acts and what he says when going around with Halone and Menphina - like he is baby sitting these deities? He acts like a father and not someone who just happened to find a way into their world. He is practically chastising them in Gridania for not being with Krile. Why would some random archeology type act this way to beings that are supposed to be gods? Wouldn't they be his gods too? He sure doesn't act like it.

@@melissas4874 I assumed Deryk is Oschon the Wanderer. "He who rules the mountains, and shall join man in their solitude". Hence why he feels he overstepped his bounds when giving the Lamb of Dalamud advice; he literally did intervene as a god himself. His "object of information" was also a map, very fitting for a Wanderer God. He was the failsafe to actually get people to the Ophalon to actually interact with the other gods. As for final fight, I'm not sure. Could be the Watcher in the "Seventh Heaven": the moon. Could just be Oschon has multiple phases.

I like halone, but it's bad raid design to just have overlapping spam aoes. Have actual mechanics. Same thing for the new trial and dungeon. Still having a blast though. Also I'd marry halone and i have no shame in that.
