Truly, anything in the old days can be made worse just by saying "...and then Ala Mhigo came along.". Good thing they don't do that anymore with Raubahn at the helm!

Ah Skalla aka that one dungeon city that the mad king Theoric (Probably butchered that spelling) hid his gold in with probably the singular idea of "So I decided to drown my riches and treasures so my enemies could never find them." Such a fun guy that Mad King Theoric, I look forward to his history/lore whenever ya get around to Ala Mhigo's lore so till then keep up the good work!

Two minutes into the video and all I can think about is: "Does he have a party of FC members run off ahead to clear out the dungeon?" "Or...... does he clear it out alone and just go all the way back to the start, using the Return spell?"
@SynodicScribe2 жыл бұрын
I go through the dungeon, recording whatever monsters or bosses I need footage of, clear them all out, then Return before walking through the entire dungeon for the extra footage.

Adventure mode exists for this dungeon, granted they explain they didn't use that function.

The story behind this dungeon is a mirror of Scala ad Caelum and Radiant Garden in KH. Radiant Garden is Ala Mhigo. The mad king is Ansem the Wise. The narrative is also extrapolated by Beauty and the Beast. Transfiguring the family and servants and trapping them beneath the castle. Very interesting. Widargelt from the Monk’s storyline looks like Aeleus, and I was able to accurately predict Vidar as a character to be revealed based off this.

I think it’s the bit at the end clarifying that the monsters, spell circles, and jail cells at the last part of the dungeon were entirely added by Theodric and his hired mages. Nothing if it are artifacts of Skalla nor the War of the Magi.

Feels like Theodoric's madness is rather suspicious. especially given that his madness led to the weakening of Ala Mhigo and subsequent invasion by Garlemald. Possible Ascian possession? Also the man looks very much like a Guado.

@@SynodicScribe next year's April fool's video idea? The Manderville family worked great, but at the same time, they literally have a whole dedicated quest line spanning even back from 1.x as opposed to BLU which most of what we know is that it has a good following in the Colosseum, it has roots in the New World and that Martyn is a chaotic force. ...that said, we do have several months to (hopefully) get the next BLU expansion, so it's not out of the question we could get more!
