Man it is incredible just how important Crystal Tower is. Let's look at everything important it set up. The tower itself, source of the future salvation of the source and the 1st. G'raha himself. Don't need to explain. Nero developing that weird friendship with Cid more, though that tends to come up in side stories. Amon and even his penchant for clones foreshadowing the fact that yes, that isn't the real Amon we kill. The world of the Void and the 13th. (Still love the theory that Cloud of Darkness is the fragment of Azem from the 13th.) And more.

I’m curious, I’m only just getting into ShB, but I keep reading things saying how G’raha is gay or bi or something. Can I ask you why that is? I’m just curious and I don’t mind spoilers.

I... I don't remember playing through any of this. Was all of this a part of the MSQ? Did I really skip that many cutscenes in my younger days? Mayhap I should go back and do another playthrough... unless it wasn't a part of the MSQ and was optional content, in which case I feel like this being optional is a disservice to the story.

It was the original alliance raid from ARR! Before the later patches of Shadowbringers, it was completely optional. When getting near the end of 5.0 MSQ there was an alternative cutscene where the WoL doesn't know Grahas name. If you did the quest line, the option to call him by his name was present. They soon after made the crystal tower series a required part of the MSQ to alleviate the problems of "Who is this character I don't remember meeting them"

It's not msq but its the only mandatory side content, so players have to do it

Its now mandatory for msq but it used to be a side quest series U can replay it through the new game+ feature

I am here NOW just finished storm blood and I really didn’t want to do this right now. Idk if I like raiding? I only did the one before this and I was carried by Fc I had no idea at all wtf was happening lol

​@@mhiggs8001 thats normal on your first go in an alliance raid. Its a dungeon made for 24 people, so it has extremely strong enemies and special mechanics made for 3 parties. Its chaos to say the least 😂 But it worth doing them ateast once, just to unlock additional content or get gears for fashion

It was a set up for Eureka which was an FF3 dungeon beneath the crystal tower. They ended up taking the idea in a different direction however it still got used for the ShB set up.
