great set of vids! Since you and David have been around for a while, it'd be cool in the next set of the stories you incorporate how you and David came up within the FGC. Going from being competitors to commentators, and whatnot. As well as seeing how Sajam and Tasty Steve came up within the FGC. I bet there's all kinds of interesting Side Stories and tangents each story could go into. Either way, great stuff man!

SEGA’s 1995 Fighting Vipers was one of the first fighting games ever with air recovery. But it obviously was a crazy big deal for a 2D game not typically focused on juggle combos to incorporate into its mechanics. And especially an established series like Street Fighter.

In regards to Bang the Machine, it is completely possible with audio editing software to remove the licensed music without effecting the rest of the audio. You would just use the same process that people use to get acappella tracks from songs. You can even use something as simple as audacity to remove the licensed music.

It's crazy to me how these guys have this good execution and setups in a time where (I assume) they hadn't had access to any kind of training mode. I assume there weren't a lot of "arcade perfect" fighting game console ports at the time, please someone correct me if I'm wrong

I've wondered for a few years. Why the fellows who made 'Bang the Machine' don't take the existing footage to a sound engineer and have the music stripped out It is at this point entirely doable. It's not EASY by any stretch, but it can be done. And it would be amazing if that documentary could get a wider release. I've had the full length of it described to me but have not seen it myself. Perhaps I will at EVO 2017. To be fair it's only been a reasonable possibility (stripping the music out of the audio) in the last few years. but it's not impossible.

I got to see it at EVO. My honest opinion is that it was fun to watch due to nostalgia, but the film itself is too short. The film production did their best to extract a storyline from the remaining footage they had after initially losing everything, but regardless the story feels like it jumps around and is incomplete.

I don't know, I have mixed feelings about Bang the Machine. It sounds cool and all, but it also feels completely bs. I don't think it's very reasonable to just keep it away from everyone that can't make it to EVO at the specific years. There are so many solutions to this. One could be just letting people download it from some torrent website and just launch some sort of donation drive to support the creators. It's not like they'll make much money from it anyways, but this way it'll be at least something. It feels unreasonable to keep it away from so many people out of stubbornness or "tradition".

Agree. Releasing it can only help the scene, which is what these guys are always preaching.

Also if they can't make any money on it anyway, there's no reason not to release it.
