It's not only about defining meta and power creeping seevants. As Durga/Kali she could've had some unusual mecahanics to show that she is a goddess of destruction. Or maybe play around her turning into Kali. And etc. It shouldn't necessarily be something broken.

Yeah, if they move the bar up a lot it becomes like FEH or other mobile games where that new unit you got is bad a year down the line because rampant power creep makes the devs constantly one up all the characters. Sometimes someone like Tiamat is released or what have you, but even Tiamat doesn't invalidate other farmers particularly farmers that you already have high NP levels on.

Durga reminds me a lot of Kyokutei Bakin. QQAAB deck, bad card gain, pretty good refund, and double NP niches (one being demonic). Durga shines a bit brighter for me, though, because even if she has less raw arts boosting, she can do something for the rest of the deck. If Bakin doesn't get her arts cards, no loop. Durga can at least guarantee that those bad cards can be arts. She can theoretically NP-A-A two turns in a row without deck resets. Also, pierce invuln is a great niche. Ultimately, Bakin's only edge is a wider spread of card buffs and more of a crit focus. Also Demonic overlaps with Evil more often than Sky. At least Durga has almost no competition. Imagine having to compete with RiderVinci, Odysseus, and Habetrot...

It’s fairly clear that they’ve decided to just make some average to good characters and let the personalities determine the rolls. There’s overlap, but the average player probably isn’t going to whale for each AoE arts looper, so having a good spread is probably for the best. I’d rather have a bevy of more or less equal units than have good characters become functionally useless because they need to have a unique gimmick that is at odds with how the game actually works. If another character got Jekylled, it’d be a tragedy.

I agree with everything said in the video, but I don't know how I feel about the summer Ibuki argument Sure, if we consider an NP2 or NP3 Ibuki against NP1s of the other classes, Ibuki is better, so she's a really good option to hyperinvest into But if we compare her to other aoe arts at the same level, she's worse than most against the proper counter classes (especially considering some are even free, like habenyan, sieg or the summer valks) So it depends on what you want to do, if you really want to be efficient for farming, probably just getting summer Ibuki and get her to N3 and maybe lvl 100, would be better than having to pull for Muramasa and Kali/Jarcher and summer Melt/Vritra and potentially some others too But if you do get those other classes instead of more copies (or even just one) of summer Ibuki, they can also do other things outside of farming where they can be better than Ibuki, so it's a weird argument overall And if we really want to be optimal in terms of how many servants we need to be as good as possible at farming, probably you shouldn't even get Ibuki, you should probably just get high NP lvls of Melusine and Tiamat and you're done, or even just Arjuna Alter

That's not exactly true. I'm currently looking at numbers. Double Castoria BBG setup. All np1. Third wave damage. Ibuki with x1.5 damage: 236488 Jarcher with x1 damage: 125964 Kali with x1 damage: 133867 Percival with x1 damage: 109949 Lambda with x1 damage: 132282 Dabinchi with x1 damage: 124301 And etc. There are some outliers, like Muramasa, who deals 160k+, or Tez, who deals 170k+. But on average Ibuki deals almost the same damage as class specific loopers with class advantage. So yes, she is a valid competition for many arts loopers.

But it is true that for just double Castoria BBG with 2004, which is what those numbers are (which, even for this setup, is not the best MC, Arctic would usually give you more dmg, and also Perci's numbers are wrong, he should be doing 118745, I think whoever did those calcs missed a 20% NP dmg buff, since that's the number you get if you use a 2.5 multiplier instead of the 2.7 from 80%+20%+20%+50% from BBG + first skill + NP overcharge effect + MC, although even then, he is, in fact, the only one who does strictly less dmg than Ibuki) the dmg difference is not that big (although for other classes like riders, with Habenyan, or assassins, with the summer Valks or Tezca, or sabers with Muramasa, the difference is more appreciable) But I was referring mostly for harder nodes where you need double Castoria + Oberon. The dmg comparison does change because of how some buffs stack with others, which varies for each servant, but still proper counter classes, with a few exceptions like Perci, will strictly do more dmg than Ibuki, and in a decent amount of cases (especially welfares) the dmg difference is more considerable.

you're right, a really good hot takes, even on a servant that i really like, i rolled her np5 and grailed to 120 because i like her, when i rolled i didn't even look at her kit, when i saw the fight with the alter ego npc i was like "i like her too much... i seriously wanna roll her like few servants." although I have iyo to level 120 that does more damage than durga(i tested both, level 120, 2k fous, black grail mlb, 2004 and double castoria) but i don't care, just rolled because i like her and not for gameplay, that is something apart , i even grailed dino mom to level 112(i have np3, i'm waiting for the next rate up to np5 and 120) so, i would simply say: just roll her if you like her and wanted to have at least one copy, if you do just because i wanted her, if you do roll her, u get a good arts aoe archer which can bg farming etc etch, but nothing special like summer ibuki or tezcatlipoca, just go if you wanted her, I believe that the only must roll are the supports like castoria, koyanskaya, skadi, oberon etc for gameplay, not a dps like durga. sorry for my bad english lmao

I would argue maybe you downplayed her CQ utility a bit more than is warranted - her ability to work with the Castoria + Lady Avalon team makes her pretty valuable IMO and I used it to bulldoze some of the new Advanced Quests without paying attention to the rules/gimmicks set up for the fight. Otherwise, good take, and I largely agreed. I'm probably going to 120 her depending on what exactly gets released with the Anniversary this year - I will have to reconsider plans if they do level 150, for example.

They honestly should've done more with her third skill. Like the Art face card gains some special property e.g., remove buffs or block buff or or make it a 3 CD or something. I felt blueballed by this when it only gave one turn pierce invul and Arts card conversion and a measly 30% 3 turn NP damage up.. Btw in multicore farming, she's Living Human and can be paired with Arcueid's multi-core farming group. It's pretty decent from what I tried, but definitely need NP2++ for both to make it consistent.

As someone with NP2 Kiara Summer, and NP2 Hokusai on NA, I badly wanted a NP2 Arts AoE character on JP and I'm happy I managed to roll her, Even if her face cards are a bit cringe and even if she doesn't change the game. I love how much she refunds, she's hot, and Kali's NP is so fun to watch. Also I love her voice acting in both forms, such sharp contrast.

I feel like being one of the 6 main class servant is already underwhelming in 2023. Why bother rolling or investing in a main class servant when you can do the same with a universal class that can cover everything. Unless that servant has something unique that make them stand out, like Melusine has 2 forms and can buster farm with BG, or Tez with insane 90++ supports, otherwise being a main class servant just feels like a disadvantage for a dps or farmer, especially with many good universal options nowadays, so just being slightly better than some old options in the same class simply won't cut it.

There was a lot of hype with Durga which lead to misinformation. The sheet Myst uses in his vids had a note saying "really high" refund on Jeanne Archer but "INSANE" refund for Durga... when Jeanne Archer's refund is much better 🥴 Of course Durga has more damage, but I think refund can matter in 2-mob waves which are common in 90++. Jeanne Archer is better for multi-core farming in 90++ too due to her 40% Charisma for Good allies.

i mean you cant just desig units to beat others in the literal sense. Atleast not every time. i am not even close to "i need to replace" Muramasa for any other Arts AoE in the near future. He is literally good enough for my account i would even consider go for NP2 Muramasa instead of summer Ibuki just because i dont own summer ibuki and a NP upgrad is isually better in terms of resources management. Unless you love Durga you should pass 100% for summer ibuki that is almost certanly comming back but in general the difference between have the top dog or just another of the efficient enough units is not even important unless you aim to be the most efficient 3Turn farmer .

The constant comparison with summer ibuki makes me realize just how much i hate the direction that berserkers have been taken in recent years of the game, where to start with they used to sacrifice survivability and some offense due to taking 2x damage and dealing 1.5x for that versatility of having semi effective damage against basically everyone and although the taking 2x and dealing 1.5x damage is still true the damage stat on most modern berserkers has been so high that they can compete with if not exceed the damage dealt by the actual counter class that deals 2x damage and basically sacrifice nothing while having super high versality which invalidates other classes

IMO berserkers should do significantly less damage than a counter class would do while still doing more damage than a neutral class would to incentivize bringing the actual counter class to nodes and only bringing berserkers when you don't have a good enough counter class option instead of always defaulting to berserkers

I can not see how Ishtar is better on a 1:1 comparison to Durga if I am being honest. Farming wise Ishtar might have an upgraded NP but has no dmg niece and her "Invincibility" and "Ignore invincibility" on her second skill are 80% chance to proc even if we were to compare them on that aspect. Durga has better survivability and at least a "sure" Ignore invincibility even though they might be situational they are there. Damage wise Durga not only has 2x niches but can also use the Black Grail and as you said she has no problems looping. Running the numbers at NP1, without even an MLB Black Grail, she outperforms Ishtar by 40-50k dmg. Also due to her NP overcharge she can participate in the Immortal Team with Lady Avalon and Castoria but I agree that most Arts units are carried by Castoria on that topic, that is not a secret. I can see why Gilgamesh and Tesla would be better than Durga in farming but not Ishtar. The only advantage Isthar has over Durga is that due to Buster Looping she doesn't care about the node structure. And ok maybe that Ishtar offers 20% atk up and 20% crit dmg up on the party for 3 turns , and 20 stars every time she NPs, so I suppose she has some "support" for the rest of the party. As you mentioned with 90++ nodes a unit should either have very good utility/support or dmg niches.

The things I'd say would help her Have her S1 gives Party Wide NP Gain to helps her Base NP Gain less crap and maybe a Charisma to give her a Damage Trifecta Have her S2 gives 30% instead of 20% Colour Buffs because Self 20% Damage Buff is an absolute crap Have her S3's Ignore Invul Last 3 Turns and give her a Heal Regen that can be multiplied for every Cards she converted into Arts for CQs Have her NP gives 100% Star Gen for 1 Turn to make it more than just a Looping Tool And maybe give her a Split NP Gain like Cas Gil or Kerry Well, that's pretty much it. As far as Servants being introduced as a Boss of the Story, I'd say she is the least Impressive of the Arc 2 Bunchs
