Thank you for your patience! I have been really busy, but I do try to release content when I can. If you have a suggestion, please post it here or email refereeuniversity@gmail.com. Next video will probably be on any new rules released!

Very informative, only missing discussion about throwing in to the back court when inbounding from the front court

You are completely right. I wish I could add it to this video. Hopefully KZbin allows that capability in the future.

@@refereeuniversity Great, there's an NBA exception to the rule where players can Inbound from their frontcourt to their backcourt after a timeout with 2.00 mins or less in the fourth quarter. I don't think fiba applies such a rule and this would be a backcourt violation under fiba rules.. Can you please make a video to explain this entirely.. Much appreciated..

If a frontcourt throw in hits a) The Rim, b) the backboard in flight with under 2:00 mins., is the throw in legal, and if so when does the clock start when the ball hits the rim, or a player on the floor upon grasping it.
@refereeuniversity Жыл бұрын
Great question, clock starts on touch by any player. Throw-in is legal!
@cptfwiffo5 ай бұрын
@@refereeuniversity I agree. Time starts on *touch* of the ball. If the throw-in was legal up till that point, it is over. It is not over (and can thus still be illegal) until it has been touched by another player on the court. (or, in other words, it could still roll out of bounds without touching. It would then be an illegal throw-in, and possession would change)

8:26 If I score the basket in the Throw-in this is violiation for me? And the ball goes to the opponent?
@refereeuniversity2 жыл бұрын
Yes, violation due to "Cause the ball to enter the basket directly"

Hey i have an interesting question! What if an in-bounding player is about to pass the ball, then steps over the line to the playing court with one feet, but realizes he is over the line and then puts his feet back behind the line and then passes the ball. Is this a violation?
@refereeuniversity2 жыл бұрын
Violation due to second bullet point of Art 17.3.1
@HoopsOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Just to clarify, where do you start after a 3 in the key violation? I understood that it would be on the endline next to the backboard. Is that correct?
@refereeuniversity2 жыл бұрын
Correct, violation occurred in restricted area so throw-in occurs endline nearest to violation next to the backboard

Is there a throw-in violation to the thrower-in player when his body is over the boundary line while his one foot is stepping outside the court?
@refereeuniversity Жыл бұрын
if one foot is in contact with the court, it is a violation
@rowboatfilm2 ай бұрын
If you jump from out of bounds, do you need 1 or both feet to contact inbounds before catching the ball to be considered legal?
@refereeuniversity2 ай бұрын
1 foot! Great question!

Ok so this one I’m not sure is a violation or what should be called. A1 has the ball on their own baseline with plenty of space behind (more than 2m), while trying to inbound A1 crosses the boundary line with their hands on the ball (A1s feet are still behind the boundary line and have not entered the court). B1 hits the ball out of A1s hands and recovers the loose ball. B1 has not crossed the boundary line at any point in this case. TY for any help.
@refereeuniversity11 ай бұрын
You cannot interfere with the inbound, ball has to leave throw-in's hands before they can make contact on the ball
@orlandoespiritu3517 Жыл бұрын
How about backcourt violation what is the ruling example player A1 dribble a live ball near halfcourt line then he stop try to press defence of B1 and he step the center line but he A1 hold the ball it is a violation in FIBA rule.

Has the player attained front court status? Two feet and the ball in the front court?

Throw-in 14sec after timeout are they aloud to enter the opponent/defence court?? Or it will be called for back court?? Tia
