The segway-ninebot products have all been stellar so far in terms of quality. I bought a mini lite for about the same price as those crappy articulated hoverboards and it's got about 300 miles on it in the last year and so far no signs of wear or degradation. Just picked up a pair of these W1s and they're also incredibly solid - looking forward to many years of use.

@@fictivmade this idea is too simplified and not in the right way the entire device is basically the motor. Why did they choose this design. But its absolutely clear to me the way this should be marketed . Is to put that main wheel motor directly at the back heel then place a faux wheel in the front for balance and boom what do we have its called electric roller blades get with it already the market is ready. How does it work as the person edges there body forward the blades activate forward movement its not rocket science . I just don't have the resources

Hi again. Interested in adding the omitted cells, but don’t want to brick my shoes. Do you think the electronic components aren’t rated to handle the extra juice, and it’ll fry or refuse to power on, or it will "just work" and give more torque and/or range? Thanks!

@@MatthewLiguori Glad you enjoyed the video! Check out our channel for more cool teardowns! In terms of the omitted cells, they may have had a good reason for leaving those out after the early design cycles. If the product doesn't provide it themselves, the components probably aren't tested or rated for those extra batteries, and it could be risky to try to add them yourself.

Are you guys sponsored by Segway? If not, you should be! It's a shame these companies don't invest once-off in their own marketing with videos like these to demonstrate what a solid, high quality piece of kit these units are, especially because they look like toys. Meanwhile, all sorts of dodgy self-exploding, overheating death trap hoverboards are selling like crazy because people don't understand quality engineering.

Hoverboards are probably easier to ride for kids and seem more fun to them. Electric unicycles are leaps ahead of all these things but not many people see that.

do you think they can be used in the long term even on not smooth ground like tiled with grooves that make them vibrate constantly? I’m concerned about the electronics that can break with constant vibrations.

There are some rubber grommets included in the assembly with the purpose of dampening those vibrations!

speed. the cells are in series. the higher the voltage the more speed. parallel gives more range.

@@MatthewLiguori There was no reason to cut some if not most of the wires. I doubt they're going to go through the effort of soldering all those back into a possibly working device.

@@LauriraYT these things have lost their value already. There are so many of these lying around collecting dust. You can find these for under 50,- used now. It's because it has no good use after the novelty wears of.
