Great tutorial! She covered everything! The only thing I notice was when she propagated a single leaf in the jar. You MUST have a long enough stem with a node on it or it won’t grow a new plant. It will only be a leaf with roots. Otherwise fantastic tutorial. I’ve been growing a fiddles for almost five years now and have eight Fiddles!

Hi Trish. Great tips and delivery. I just purchased a fiddle fig leaf, Randy. After I brought it I noticed it had red freckles on several leaves and brown spots. In addition to that I got busy and accidentally left him in my vehicle for about 8 hours. I screamed when I saw him as several beautiful leaves were wilted. I've cut off the wilted leaves but I'm not sure if I need to cut off more. Several leaves are drooping. How do I know if I should cut off the dropping leaves and leaves with brown spots.
@TrishTalkz Жыл бұрын
Hi, Portia🤗 Thank you so much for watching! As I mentioned, fiddle leaf figs are temperamental and don't like to be moved. Find a sunny spot in your home and leave Randy there. The red freckles are normal. The plant is growing. They should disappear. The brown spots I can't be sure without seeing. Check to see if the soil is wet. It may have too much water. Again, I can't be sure. I am setting up a free community app, so viewers can drop their pictures and questions in the app when they have questions. I'll double back with that information soon. Good luck! 🤗

Hi! I just bought a tall five foot ficus lyrata today. They did re-pot it for me and I picked a pot that was abit bigger than one where the original pot fit in perfectly. Will my plant still be okay? I also plan to have it in my basement apartment near my walk up door. Is there anything else I need to do to ensure it grows and stays alive? Also, approximately how often should we water a ficus lyrata of that size? Thank you so much!
@TrishTalkz2 жыл бұрын
Hi Aasma! Congratulations on your purchase of my favorite indoor plant! Make sure it’s getting plenty of indirect light. Also, don’t over water it. Invest in a soil tester if you can. Or stick your fingers in the soil and only water when it’s almost dry. Now, the plant will likely experience some shock. If it’s dropping a lot of leaves, perhaps it’s not in an ideal location. Consider moving it. Best of luck!🤗🤗🤗

Your fiddle are beautiful. I have 3 fiddle bamboo plants. They are giving new leaves almost every week. One is almost 4 feet tall the other two are probably 2 - 3 feet tall. Question is can I put all 3 plants in one pot. Running out of room in my living room. They are doing very good at the east window with morning and afternoon sun. I do close the curtain if it’s to much sun coming in. I wipe off all leaves with a wet paper towel and dry them once a month. I watch how watering them. I also take them in the shower they really like that. I turn them once a week . They like it outside in the summer. Other then that I don’t move them they don’t like to be moved. I never fertilized any of my plants. I tried that once lost some. Thank you again. Have a wonderful week ❤
@TrishTalkz8 ай бұрын
Hi Nancy, are they all in the same area right now? If so, then combining them won’t be too bad of a shock. If they are not, then test one by moving it to the area you want all the figs in. If it starts dropping leaves, then return it back to its previous location. If it must move, then let it sit in its new location a few hours a day and see if you can transition the plant slowly. Once it is no longer in shock, combine them in a larger pot. Without knowing your exact conditions, I don’t have a firm recommendation, but I hope this helps.😊

Hi Danielle! Great question! A couple of reasons. Houseplants in general became popular again in 2020 because everyone was home looking to renovate and to connect and care for something. Because of the Fiddle Leaf Figs' architectural presence, it's extremely popular with designers and architects. So when everyone started renovating their homes in 2020, this plant became a favorite amongst others. Thanks for watching and commenting!🤗🤩🤗🤩
