Great analysis. Very enjoyable, you are great at communicating complex ideas by showing the short continuations of something that to an intermediate seems totally fine.

Would you consider doing a video on tactics versus positional strategies, what makes them different, what you gain from becoming better at each, etc I have trouble understanding what the difference is between these two terms
@arasvardanyan3708
@arasvardanyan3708 3 жыл бұрын
The trick is to use tactics to get positional advantages, like in this game where shirov sacrificed the queen, while other variations gave black a positional advantage

3:00 has never been played you say? Can't imagine why it's a very good looking move For white
@EDoyl
@EDoyl 3 жыл бұрын
I also thought this was a joke, but that arrow is actually showing the pawn move Shirov wants to make and the black queen isn't there. The good move he's talking about is white queen d1 if the black queen was there.
@T_Skillet
@T_Skillet 3 жыл бұрын
@@EDoyl yep didn't notice that at all I thought that arrow was for blacks queen but if anyone would want to try it I'm sure it's also a novelty

Yes! The key variation goes Bb1 Ra4 + Na2 and I was trying to make bxa2 Bxa2 Rc4 work and couldn't, but suddenly Nc5 dxc5 (practically forced) bxa2 (threat is axb1=Q with mate) so Bxa2 Rxc5 (threat is mate in 2) and the most beautiful point is that if b4 then Bf6 with mate, therefore mate is unstoppable
