I just finished watching this Snowstorm of love drama, and I absolutely loved it. This drama is so different from the usual C-drama that I've watched of Rich CEO ML and poor/naive FL. This drama is so light, fresh, no drama, no petty misunderstandings, no evil third wheels that tried to break them up, so I quite enjoy watching it and there's everything that I see for in a light romantic drama, there's chemistry between the leads, there's friendships, there's brotherhood that support each other and has equal love for one other not like other typical dramas where the supporting roles are always shown as below the ML .

I agree. It’s hard to come by a romantic drama being so light and subtle and then building up more as time passes. By not having plots with unnecessary clashes among characters actually make the experience of watching it better. May be Wu Lei character got some tormented issue a little about his past but that all ends in heartwarming note. So I say the story is successful in deliver what it promises. It’s one of the most enjoyable dramas I’ve seen.

I agree 100%! The acting is very subtle. I don’t understand the people who say they don’t seem to have any chemisty. Not sure what they are seeing but what I see is hella chemisty and would enjoy this drama just to see they way they look at each other alone 😂 I’m on eps 12 and you see them slowly start to get comfortable with each other, touch each other more, open up about their lives more and more in a very realistic way. I’m loving this show and I agree that it’s a breath of fresh air from the norm. Also, it’s a 30 episode drama so there’s PLENTY of show left for the story to really unfold.

I actually loved this drama!! The initial awkwardness and shyness were so realistic. Both actors act well and the cinematography is so gorgeous. It’s a very romantic modern love story , so I understand that it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. But one thing I want to refute is that it’s not quiet at all, there is a lot of hype on sns and the drama is topping many viewership charts so you may want research that statement first..

It didnt promise any high profile thriller type story they promised a cute Romance and thats what they are presenting and its ok for me . Although everyone have different choices for me it's quite good .

Exactly. The trailers promised moods, feelings, and atmosphere...and that's what this drama does, and it does it wonderfully. I don't necessarily need characters to be yapping non-stop in order to be enjoying my dramas and movies.

Exactly and it reminds me a lot of first love stories where I didn't knew if he likes me or not or if everything is in my head. Because I was approaching things so carefully, many things flu over my head. The type of story presented in this drama is the one that really finish with "till death do us apart" because it is true that many successful couples don't disrespect each other or have ups and downs every 5 seconds.

ah, watching this review is surprising because I found myself watching this in under 2 weeks and when I ask myself what is the appeal.... I can understand that NOTHING is actually happening (even with the sport/athlete angle, these aren't "underdogs" they are prodigies so that plot angle is light work) but something about seeing a woman loved and adored for 30 episodes straight, no side plot, no crazy off the wall break up, no huge ensemble to keep track of....was just what I needed 😭

I enjoyed both of these dramas. Amidst the Snowstorm is a cute and uncomplicated love story. Sometimes I just need these, no angst, no misunderstanding. These are 2 people are talented but inexperienced in the love dept. She's only 21 yrs old and he's for yrs dedicated to his craft and his studies so they seem awkward, which is understandable. As for Fighting for Love, I like the relationship between the 2 leads. She needs to do what she needs to avenge her family. He wanted to take care of her but had to let her fight her battles and move up the rank. So far I have no complaints and plans to finish both. These are better options than what was aired in Jan for sure.

Amidst A Snowstorm Of Love , the awkwardness between the leads was intentional at the start (makes sense its two introvert dating ) but now after episode 8 when they starts dating good lord the tension & chemistry is on another level . And after ep 16 you see the other characters coming in with their side of the story & also more of the sports part Ep 8 was too soon to quit

The lighthearted aspect brings happiness and smiles as we remember the time of being young and love is new. The point about the old teacher is interesting and heart warming. Wu Lei has accomplished communicate his feelings through his eyes.

For snowstorm review, I agree some points but not everything. Snowstorm’s clingy-giggling, omg trend for this generation. Without snowstorm, I won't understand my gen Z niece (she is always on her phone.) At some point of Wu Lei’s gaze n stare, I am tooo old to feel it as our generation gap, he is not targeting his aunty fans in early episodes 😂. However all actors portray the reality life, I love it and support them. 👍 Patiently waiting upcoming episodes for playing billiards in arenas. Lastly I am assured one thing, Leo attracts to thousands of young audiences with this drama 😍. He’s now my niece’s new crush. 🤣

Sometimes when people claim that certain CPs have chemistry, I'll watch the same thing but not feel anything. For me personally, this is prob one of the most romantic dramas I've ever seen, and I get shaken every time the leads are together on screen.

Imo, the drama is boring. There's no story. Lol. Just them hooking up. The snooker subplot is just an excuse to pretend the drama is exciting. Wu Lei and Zhao Jinmai make a super cute couple...but the drama is dull...bland. The drama isn't even popular in China. Only 60k raters on Douban. Seeing how popular the drama is outside of China, I thought it was going to be similar in china. Even Love Endures (a drama with a very specific niche) has over 100k raters. I hope to see Wu Lei and ZJM in better dramas, especially ZJM.

to me Amidst a Snowstorm of Love is my top C-drama in the start of 2024 so far, base on storyline and characters in this drama . Yes it just another cliché romance drama and at first ep I thought I was going to drop it but strangely enough the more I watch it the more I like it. They're just simple couple in relationship, not way too cringe or too exaggerated of any extraordinary people, I find it somehow relate table in real life . I read and watch many toxic both novel and drama recently, so this drama is such a refreshing of people in relationships to me (they are likeable ) that's my POV of course people have different opinions. I am actually a bit skeptical about C modern drama overalls...sorry but I found most of them are childish idol drama, and overrated. I think this drama is better than LOVE ME LOVE MY VOICE (which I dropped it) it's just a bit boring to me (not about the quality of filming production)

Totally understand your frustration with AAAOL but that’s exactly why love it. The current generation has a different way of communicating and this embodies that. But the underlying emotions they have for themselves and for each other stands the test of time. This is a lovely, gentle, emotional drama and I give it a top rating. It’s a pleasant change.

I like amidst better than love me love my voice. amidst had a very clear arc from the beginning, the ML was kicked out from his club, so we know at one point in the drama he will probably return gloriously. and that motivation carried on quite well through out the drama. the FL was rather insignificant, but i think the ML's arc was very shonen-esque.

At first I agreed that this drama verges on "boring" as it does not have any excitement to it, and like Avenue X said, there is endless texting. The male lead is a taciturn character - that is why there is not much conversation. Then I read the translated novel and realised that it is almost an exact replica...apart from the cut away, censored scenes. Well, well, well. I love seeing this pair. Especially marvel at Wu Lei, how manly he has now become, ever since his Nirvana days. And our dear actress from Reset, how pretty & refreshing she looks. The amount of censorship poses a problem..it makes certain conversations out of whack. Anyway, I will just read the novel & enjoy what's left of the drama. It is stress-less, a suitable drama for CNY😂 The final episodes of the drama are much better because the focus shifts to the si fu of the male lead, parents, old bonds & ties. This drama would have been much more popular & ranked much higher with a better script. The fluff - texting ,etc could have been cut down by 50%, and angst introduced to that amazing chemistry between the 3 top male players, male lead's return, as well as the parents' side

I truly love this drama ... it was really different from the normal CEO/bad mind, jealousy filled, toxic scenario especially since 2024 ... simply toxic-free, lots of support showing brotherly love so I am very happy for this one... I like watching dramas with uncomplicated stories where its mainly about the main leads, like Love me love my voice, Hi venus sort of dramas. Amidst the snowstorm of love is very similar in the story but its too slow pacing. But from the start and end credit scenes, it seems that there's much story left. I have watched 10 episodes and kept it on hold. I will binge it on weekly basis. And currently I am rewatching Love me love my voice.

Spot on about Fighting for Love. I love that they give a funny twist to a heavy military drama. The jokes and comedy timing are good & doesn’t seem forced at all. But it’s also not a comedy drama because when it’s serious it can be quite intense. Although it’s not a masterpiece, this drama is entertaining and it’s a bit different from the usual Cdramas.

Shame you didn't like Amidst the Snowstorm of Love, I enjoyed it. Like others have said, it's refreshingly free of unnecessary drama, the leads actually communicate, their relationship is healthy and it's just a joy to watch. It's quite close to real life, except some certain parts of it, as you've pointed out, the others are there to push these two characters together but towards the end you do see that the other characters have their own struggles and dreams. Anyway, it's very relaxing and beautiful to watch. Maybe it's not for everyone, and maybe you need to be in the mood for it and I'm glad I was when I started it. When you want something mellow, quiet, yet heart fluttering (Leo can really do longing love gaze very well) give this a try.

Amidst a snowstorm of love actually missing the STORM. Lack of plot , slow paced to a level that makes you angry, poor acting by Male Lead ( WuLei ). Very problematic drama, and also a perfect example of grooming. ML is literally grooming the girl ,prompting the girl e eey second, its very disturbing to watch. LACK OF PLOT , is very evident, dragging through every scene ,adding kissing scenes eveey now & then - you will end up asking "ok bro , you kissed enough,what next ? ". Im not sure why they spend so much money into this drama , shot in Finland etc , but nothing special to watch so far. 🙄

I haven't started Admist a Snowstorm of Love but I think I give up on MBFB drama adaptations. I sincerely enjoy her novels because they're full of romance for me to create a story and vision in my head. But the stretch of a romance driven drama to fill a 30-40 ep drama with no real depth is really hard to sit through. I may be ok with 24 ep but not more than that. Started Fighting for Love, and it's actually decent so far, so I'm hoping it doesn't crash.

TBH while both leads are talented actors in their own right, I would not choose either of them for just a romance-driven role. Angel Zhao is better in suspense or slice-of-life dramas - I think she has a good career in more indie type dramas/movies. Leo Wu would be better in more action driven drama. At least pair one of them with another lead who can do romance well and can generate the chemistry to make up for lack of plot (Zhao Lusi, Chen Zhe Yuan). If you want to see a really well done drama that mostly focuses on romantic love between leads - that would be Hidden Love. I think ZLS and CZY knocked it out of the park with that one. The other one with Seven Tan and JingBoran - again I really liked both actors and Seven can pull off romance but it was a slog to get through to the end.

Good comment. "Fighting for Love" as a period drama for me is the most entertaining at the beginning of 2024. It shows how an ordinary story can stand out if it has good dialogues and good actors. A wise mix of drama and humor, it is the FIRST time we see a Prince who is not cardboard like plaster, but relaxed, laughing out loud with his girlfriend and throwing kisses. Things unfold in a natural way : from strangers to awkward exchanges for gratefulness to awkward friendship cause of burgeoning attraction to confession to first moment of dating to being more serious lovers. I also like the normal way the leads talk. Nothing dramatic nor cartoonish (the magic of actors dubbing themselves)

The plot is love and how you start courtship. How to try to do things especially when you find your first love and you have ZERO experience, where every small thing you do to progress the interaction it is seen as a huge victory. If you already had your first love you will probably see the resemblance with what happened to you and how you perceived things and if you didn't it is a win because it helps you identify some cues that someone is interested in you and it is not only in your head.

I have a good impression of the two leads and their acting so I wanted to check out Amidst a Snowstorm of Love. Unfortunately I could not make it past 3 episodes. Yes, this drama is incredibly boring, but I think what made it impossible to continue for me was it was SO awkward. It didn't give me the cute-awkward vibes of two shy people who are clearly interested in one other (if anyone has watched the Kdrama Do You Like Brahms?, for me that was awkwardness done right), but came off more as two people who have zero chemistry and barely know each other but somehow keep finding themselves in situations where they have to interact. I was cringing from second-hand embarrassment the whole time I was watching.

This is just your opinion , i would say 90 percent of the cdramas are bad played with horrible scripts ,in modern dramas there is always a rich arrogant heir with beautiful face but bad acting quality and a pretty but dump poor female lead happy to get that dominating rich guy, people love these traffic stars no matter how bad their playing is , amidst the love is one of only a few dramas where falling in love for the first time is excellent and realistic portrayed,the cinematography especally in finnland for me as an european is excellent and much better as most chinese dramas which are mostly created on pc with software,especally costume dramas

I gave it a few more episodes because I love Jinmai, but it got painful watching her (her character) being subtly pushed to get physically intimate even though she's visibly uncomfortable....

I am probably biased to judge this drama since I really like Wu Lei. But honestly, (not trying to be rude but) you seem a bit too old for Snowstorm of Love. The general target audience of this drama seems to be young adults since the main characters are texting often and they act like their love is bigger than anything else in the universe around them. Immature or not. It doesn't seem that far-fetched to act like this in your first relationship. I'm a 22 yr old who has never dated and this drama seems very refreshing to me. The awkwardness and romantic tension between them is really enjoyable to me but the plot really does pick up very slowly. Personally, I'm okay with slow if the couple is worth it. And here I am (maybe biased) but very much enjoying the main couple.

Thank you for the incite, I decided not to continue watching the Snowstorm after seeing some clips posted on social media. It feels bland and cliche and doesn't really offer anything to the table. I'm not too particular whoever the leads are when watching cdramas as long as it's refreshing and new but I was really disappointed considering the budget allocated for this drama. You're right, they really don't have to shoot this oversea.

For snowstorm love, i know this is slow pacing love story, but i can't think of any memorable dialogue or scene that can touch my heart. I can withstand to watch until now just because of their visual.

"Do you have any questions about me?" That part was funny especially because it played into differences on one hand you have woman that tends to have the tongue locked while in presence of a man that she is interested in while the man interprets her silence as not being interested. I didn't memorized it but the same goes to the prior scenes where she tried to make casual conversations to interact with him while he only given clipped answers. Do you know how many relationships started without even beginning because they didn't have the presence of spirit to tell them that they love to talk further with her but this is their usual way of talking.

The Snowstorm is good. In the opposite, don’t like the film with too much filter, prefer more natural filming just like seeing with your eyes. The ML may be a little stiff, but that’s his depressed introverted character affected by his early life which is depicted well. FL is one of the best Chinese actresses who can display the natural affection others can’t do. 😂

Accidentally saw a Fighting For Love highlight video the other day..watched it & I thought it looks good (& yes, it's funny) & got me watching a few more highlights. I personally like the color grading and the production seems not bad. After checking the reviews here, feel like giving this period drama a try.

If you haven’t seen the other dramas she mentioned or that are similar, it’s a good watch but when you’ve seen several like this one before unfortunately Amidst falls short. I like both actors immensely, they are known to be able to work well w their costars but I’ve seen Leo (who has more professional experience) having better on screen chemistry w other FL. And it’s true there is nothing that says it’s Finland, they could have used CGI. And the character development falls short. And loved seeing the growth on FL from previous works. They are both incredible actors.

But it didn't. Everything from the story through everybody's acting, felt artificial and without purpose. I heard so many people praise snowstorm and it had everything I liked - in theory. I started it with high expectations and the leads were okay but I just can’t point out why it didn’t work for me and I had to drop it on ep 4. I was incredibly bored, constantly skipped or watched at 2x speed. It’s fine though, we don’t have to force ourselves into watching something.

For me, in Amidst a Snowstorm of Love (forward watching it up to 10 eps) the plot doesn’t give me any idea of what to look forward to. Like what could be so entertaining with two people so in love since day 1 in foreign land?? I’m not against love at first sight, it could happen! Really! But it’s a drama and I need some fun watching they are in love as human. How the girl keeps decoding the meaning of his gesture? Like We can see it already, we understand. You don’t need to voicing it all through her mind as well!! worst the background as professional pool players? It’s so lacking, male lead literally was a legend player but remains like the best despite of leaving his club years ago and moving on with life. while the fl supposedly trained all her life by her famous player cousin, but somehow so distracted by her interaction with a guy she just met for a week or two. She basically just started her practice when her phone rang. Like, remember what you came here for, girl!! Lastly, honestly I find the ml’s constant long stare, more like watching her every move, like his eyes are some laser. More scary dan creepy, than romantic or anything a guy in his 27 would do. Such eyes were ok for his character on The Long Ballad as Ashile Sun, but it’s totally off here😭😭 it’s crazy how his eyes always on her whenever she is around!!

lol reviewing a show by just watching 7.3 episodes out of 30 is cruel. The character development was so beautiful to watch❤ Well with regards to the side characters they are tools in every other show. In fact in here there is development of those characters too!

Amidst the snowstorm of Love is super boring. It could be a good drama it they would cut it in like 8-10 episodes. This way it takes forever until they start dating (and like literally nothing happens there, so there is actually no reason for the slow start). And also I felt to sorry for the passage when they go on the solo trip and we don't get to see any of the beautiful Northern nature. Was that just a commercial for the car or wtf? 😅 Why is there too many shots of them "being in the car, then riding the car etc."? This could be happening in China or anywhere else in the world 😑 I guess I'll finish it, but like 1.5 speed or skipping all the boring stuff... 😂

Amidst a Snowstorm of Love , drama is "Feel Good", a cute romantic love story. it's not a grand high-profile series and is not complicated with twists and turns. both leads meet in FINLAND in a foreign country, Both lead characters and personalities are detailed depending on their situation & background they are coming from. our FL/ ML are shy people, FL is just 21 years old, taking her time and space to understand, and going slow at the beginning of relation is more relatable to me at least.

Snowstorm is lacking in moments of conflict and movement that would lead to two people falling in love... or deciding to be with one another... but then again.. sometimes for some people it is just that simple indeed... I actually liked how they portrayed the awkwardness between the two leads... that chats (in agreement with you) did get extremely monotonous tho... I am liking it better after the two characters got together... episode 16 was pretty okay I think.. but the side characters are yet to be established and even the story other than the fact that they fall in love is yet to be established (in that it is yet to show signs of a plot)... it is a pretty feel good drama though and I like both the lead actors a lot.. so I'll stick to it nevertheless :)

Well for me I love the subtlety of ATSOL. I always want to watch this kind of drama that there is no such thing as evil or super evil antagonist. If you want to be relax and just feel in love this drama is for you, so this is for me.❤ I love the little scenes how they fell in love with each other and the electricity that they were imparting with those intimate scenes,whoa, Leo Wu is such a great actor. He just needs to be a little mature wc goes with age so he will be really perfect with any kind of romantic drama. And Angel Zhao is such an angel and both of them are really good in acting; acting with their facial actions. These two obviously come from drama academy. I need them to be in a more intense script , script that will bring them to award giving body. Actually i love Yang Zi but I preferred watching ATSOL than LE of YZ and FCC but i also love to watch it, hehehe.

Basically..it seems like a Well... not so wow..just there...and This drama also made me realise how much I'm not a fan of Wulei. Amidst a snowstorm of love - I didn't even realize that it was filmed overseas - I keep fast-forwarding, and watching the episode trailers are actually enough to follow the development of the story - Zhao Jin Mai, she's pretty and cute, but Leo Wu is so awkward, kinda like he's trying too hard to looks cool and stiff
