Client needed these roof caps made ASAP. Normally we have a fabrication shop make us caps like this. Of our local vendors the fastest shop needed 10 days to make our caps, but our customer wanted them done before then due to incoming weather. This gave us an opportunity to make a video about how we field fabricate roof caps.
In this video we used our break from harbor freight, and the star of the show is the Hilmor Pocket Brake. We insulated the penetrations with two layers of duct board, the bottom layer is air sealed at the building layer and the top layer has insulation on supports flush with the top. We used plywood as a support backing under our sheet metal caps.
@hilmorTools Makes a great pocket break, if you don't already have one, do yourself a favor and get one for yourself.
