In 3 years since posting this video you get 23 comments? 150 likes? I see this as a sad state of affairs where peoples' interests are in areas that do not deal with the discovery and the taking stock and the observation of our surroundings. Yes, the amount of detail given in M. Blanc's presentations is specific, it is detailed, and specialized. But it is of plants and habitat, for heavens sake, it is of vital importance, nowadays. Back when I was a lad I did roughly the same things with aquariums etc. as M. Blanc describes, and today, being of ripe old age, my interest in these vitally basic and important matters have not diminished. My implied question, maybe the question I am no longer afraid to ask is: what the heck is wrong with 99% of people? They do not care? But my highest compliment to M. Blanc and his team for producing this series of travels!

Thanks for your comments. I visit tropical forest since 1972 while I was a student in Paris university and afterwards regularly in connection with my scientific research on the adaptations of forest understory species perfectly coping with only 1% of full sunlight reaching the forest canopy. Many trips again in 2023 : South India, Malaysia, Cameroon, Thailand, New Caledonia. Every time new observations and new informations.

Kudos to Pascal for creating this video. And to you. Crypts are my favorite plant and I am fortunate to grow them in my aquariums, especially C. huderoi

Hello Master! a little information about c. cordata var. siamensis. The plant used to be imported from Bangkok under the name: The Brown One. It also tolerates very hard water as an aquarium plant, because in our district with hard water back then, it thrived splendidly in our aquariums, with cichlids from Lake Malawi

Bonjour, yes all the forms or varieties of Cryptocoryne cordiata are easy to grow. In our 25 000 liters Christarium at home, full of Malawi and Tanganyika Cichlids, C. cordata var. cordata from Malaya, C. cordata var. siamensis from southern Thailand as well as C. cordata var siamensis 'Rosanervig' imported from Southern Thailand long time ago and probably disappeared from nature, all of them are perfectly growing in spite of these numerous Cichlids and others, the worst for all the plants being Puntius mahecola because they eat all the green creatures. You can see some photos on my website at House of Patrick Blanc, page 2.
