I've been using a Turbosaw LT3200 saw in combination with my home made grapple, and 2038r. I've cleared thousands of cedars, hedge trees, etc with that setup. It works so well.

Really nice combination, I like the tines on the lower half of the grapple,works like a brush rake on a dozer, You were able to pull that one tree out by the roots, Impressive. And the saw cuts it close enough to the ground so you can mow without poking a hole in a tire, Enjoy Both You and Christy, It was terrible windy here in Mn. Tractors are addictive, and using them is really just a form of play. I think even big farms have people vying for the chance to drive the tractor. Can you imagine doing the same work by hand? Not many people want to do that these days. Tim, the more of your videos I watch the more it seems as though the original concept of using a 1025R for small back yard projects has come off the rails. It's true that you need the right tool for the job, and not every job calls for a small tractor. I do hope to see more of Johnny X in the future. Not all jobs have to be gigantic to be interesting. We do a LOT with the 1025r. However, it is hard to keep coming up with new and interesting content with it for every episode. No choice but to ‘branch out’ into other tractors.

It appears that the.tree saw could be handy for cutting tree stumps off at ground level. Save a lot of stump grinding.😉. That was a great combination for the project. Blessings.

Those cluster of trees are Russian olive trees. They are a weed in my area. I have found they are easy to push over and just pull out of the ground with the bucket.

A lot of those tree saws recommend 50+ pto, that deer only pushes mid 30's, probably why you had issues with the larger stuff slowing the blade down. A little more power and you can take trees as big as the opening for the blade. Also, easing into them instead of ramming them would probably help a little too.

The pto to mid is great ! now if i get a plastic bag in the big mower I can disengage and move the blade to find the bag. Balloons and super thin food strore Tshirt bag can be wrapped on the cutting edge and stops the blade from cutting. Thanks Tim.

A lot of that brush looks like Chinese privet. I’ve been clearing a lot of privet on our farm in SW AR with my 3025E and grapple. A lot of it, I can just rip out with the grapple stump and all. It’s a very invasive brush but it’s not too hard to clear. Great video!

The only design flaw I see with that saw is it doesn't have a guard to keep it from pulling big stuff in between the blade and housing like it did with that one tree that you almost had trouble getting back out again. It should have something that hangs just above the blade so it won't pull stuff in and jam things up. The other thing that might be helpful is if that upper bar had hydraulic rams so when you try to take big trees down, you could use it to help push the tree backwards. Especially if the blade starts binding, you could use the bar to push it slightly to help ease any binding that might be happening. I think those are the 2 upgrades that may make it even better.

Reducing the clearance between the blade and the frame is likely not to work as expected. In that case even smaller branches would create a problem, as they will wage into the gap, blocking the blade. Perhaps, some sort of flapper door might work... But then again, if it's too loose, it's not guarding much. If it's too tight, the stuff will be biting onto the blade. I think that vendor decided in favor of a bigger gap for a reason - the guard might create more problems than solving ones.

Watching you with that tree saw and grapple makes me want to go add a saw for field edge management. I'm in southern Indy and the dang honeysuckle is trying to eat up my field the stump bucket does wonders but its a pain to swap between it and the grapple after. Thanks for the great video

what will you do with all the stumps? This is definitely quicker but I find leaving 2-3ft of trunk left sticking out and then pushing over which usually brings the stump with it. this of course only works on smaller, 2-3”, diameter trunks given the tractor size but the result is much cleaner IMHO.

I have an artillian rops bar on the way for my GrandL6060. I had skipped the chain saw holder as I thought it was too high for my saws. But I see one - not as high as mine would be - but still up there. Do you take your chainsaw off from the seat? or can you get it off from the ground?

Oh, the tires are ok. Deere doesn't offer any sort of a hybrid radial for this size. If they did, I would probably choose it. I do have the R1 Ag tires on the 3520 (same size/class machine). However, I haven't used it yet with these tires on it. Gotta get the modifications/improvements done on it so that I can get it going!

For a Ventrac, I would recommend the Ventrac landscape rake. It is perfectly balanced together, and the front gauge wheels really help.

Tim do you have any experience with the Sabre Samurai Cutter? I see it advertised on KZbin but I don't know anything about it. I have a Kubota B2601here at home which restricts my choices for ditch and bank mowing. My old buddy and neighbor has driven his Scag mower into the river twice. It's a nice mower but it really doesn't make that good of a boat. He's in his 80s but still insists on doing everything himself. I'm looking for an offset cutter that isn't terribly expensive that I can mow the ditches in the neighborhood and around the water. That isn't easy to find for a small tractor. If we were on the farm it would be no problem but I don't have larger equipment at home. God bless you guys and happy trails.
