I mean, I can't blame him. I would be doing the exact same thing in his shoes. Watching the shock on a friend's face when they get to the major plot twist that fucked you up when you first experienced it is so satisfying and you don't want to ruin it by telling them, but you also want to hint at it to make it even more devastating. I've done it myself in some contexts, even just laughing at a friend when he got to the twists at the end of books I recommended while they yell at me for leading them on.

Shadow of the Colossus, the story about how one kid almost destroyed the entire world for the sake of love. Personally I'd say Wander was in the wrong. Definitely not exactly a hero.
