Some more details/fun stories on some of the topics we mentioned. 1:12 When I rode a similar slow train to the one Xu rode, it was the year 2009 for me. It was an overnight slow train to Beijing. The reason I rode it was because all the faster train tickets were sold out. Beyond what the picture shared, some other funny memories: even the bathrooms had people chilling in there. Because the bathrooms at least had more space. And people could smoke a cigarette in the bathroom too. Thank goodness, I got to take a nap the moment I got off that overnight train. In 2008 I actually rode another kind of slow train that had beds, but they were equally uncomfortable because the trains were so loud and stopped so often. So I didn't get any sleep either. The next day in Shanghai, I was completely tired to the point where I fell asleep on the bus and accidentally smacked my head into someone's eye. That was how tired I was. So I didn't just fall asleep, I fainted asleep. 4:22 That friend of Xu was the ref in that notorious Tai Chi push-hands vs wrestling video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKaylaRmm7yErbc 5:23 I will likely translate that on Fight Commentary Chats or Fight Commentary Extras. I haven't decided which channel to use. After this match, here was the Pressure Point Wing Chun Master's excuse: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2TWo4aPoKmjl9E The full conversation with Nicole will also be uploaded in the future. Xu’s social credit was restored after he paid the fine and apologized for a week on NetEase. NetEase has since taken down his apology, but because I covered it during the initial event, I have the original apology screenshotted (which I showed in the video). Xu Xiaodong's KZbin channel is linked in the description and endcards. During this event, Xu was actually supposed to take on two "masters." The other guy was a self-proclaimed Tai Chi guy (with maybe a Shaolin lineage too). 张法义 was the master's name. That guy dropped out the last week before the event. My preliminary search after finding his name is that he has a KZbin channel. He was apparently doing some kungfu style that he claimed was from Zen Buddhism. Seems like a contradiction. I'll see if he ever explained why he dropped out of the match vs Xu during this event in Karamay. The wing chun master still has a douyin, but nothing too spectacular is on there. A lot of other masters that Xu fought have social media but there’s nothing too much to see. The only master that seems to be making progress is Tang Duoji (the slip n slide master who looks like Jack Ma). That guy is actively sparring. I'll add more to this as I think of more details to this video.

I will comment again. Just look at Xu's form while punching! It's all over the place, a good boxer would easily exploit that (he might be doing it on purpose to show how bad his opponents are) his jab needs a lot of work, i barely see him kicking (once again, he might just feel like it would be too much for his opponents or that he does not need it), he goes forward without having proper defense (ditto. A boxer would exploit this and take him out with a simple check hook or smt, but he might be doing this on purpose)

Fun fact: I like the manga Fist of the North Star (here in Italy its animated adaptation is INSANELY popular with my generation), and the protagonist uses a pressure point style... And sheer boulder-shattering POWER. In fact, the first part of his training was to become strong enough to destroy a tank bare-handed (he did this), fast and precise enough with his hands to casually catch an arrow and throw it back to the shooter without bothering to look, and tough enough to actually take the kind of strikes he can dish, the invincible pressure point strikes were the final part of the training. And there's plenty of occasions he didn't bother to use his pressure point strikes, his raw physical power and knowing how to use it were often enough. Even a manga understands what this LüGang doesn't, that physical is the base for martial arts alongside technique.

Apart from his fighting skills, Xu xadong is endowed with an iron body that makes him unbeatable.

The only part of Xu that’s weak is his vocal cords. He keeps having issues with his vocal cords. But everything else is made of iron 😎

Pressure point master feeling the pressure of the other guy's punches. I bet he's going to go home, rethink his life choices and find another profession.

The bigger guy took many shots and still cannot take down the smaller man. What a shame! 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

interesting vid but a couple of comments... playing rugby... no one wears a cup.. one guy had his scrotum torn, had it sewn up and finished his match... Wrestled in school and tbh there are weight classes for a reason. Maybe Xu needs to find a shuai jiao or San da fighter to see what TCMA could do?

"Masters" ought not be possessed of huge egos. Masters are supposed to have conquered petty self egos

Having to apologise and the the way they're treating him is beyond ludicrous

I didn't know that Xu was a pressure point guy, cuz he was pushing points on other guys face continuously.

I didn't see any wing chun fist. All I saw was he got beat up real bad. 🤣🤣🤣

I still remember his excuse for losing that its because hes vegan & Xu is a meat eater therefore hes bigger & stronger 🤣🤣🤣
@FightCommentary6 ай бұрын
Yep! And before the match he said he was stronger, more powerful and more flexible. It’s hilarious that he put all that in writing before just to completely 180 on it after he lost.
@geryquin42146 ай бұрын
In his defence meat eaters really are stronger than vegans. So at least at the end he got some sense knocked into him and suddenly became factual 😂

This would have been even more entertaining if there was a line of Kung Fu masters waiting to fight him - all of which he would have destroyed.

About "superman punch", this punch is mad from a LOW KICK FEINT. Do you know when the people fall for superman punch? When they think that you will kick them. So, this is the kind of strike that not work at Boxing for example.

My understanding is that Xu Xiaodong is not even that good as an MMA fighter. Not sure if that's correct, but imagine if a serious MMA champion were to go up against these self-proclaimed kung fu bullshido experts. Game over in the first few seconds.

Xu has some sparring footage on his YT channel. I will definitely commentate some of that soon!

Xu is a great fighter. He was a champion in Sanda kickboxing & he's solid in his mma fights. Just sadly his career is halted often because he's always punished by not being allowed to fight and/or not being allowed to show his face.
@maxhensley16856 ай бұрын
Depends what you mean by "not that good." He has a very solid background in Sanda, and he's trained and competed at a level way above what most casual practitioners will ever reach. So if we're going by the standards of average people going to an MMA gym hoping to get better at fighting, that's just not true. But if you were putting together a list of top 50 MMA fighters in the world in his weight class, he probably wouldn't be on it. So by that standard, he's not that good. It's kind of like saying the 200th ranked tennis player in the world isn't particularly good. They'd probably lose a game to any player that any casual follower of tennis has actually heard of. But they'd still demolish anyone you've ever met in a game.

At about the 7:11 mark the way you laughed after stating the pressure point guy does not wear a cup because it reduces his power.

Kung fu guys always make stupid claims. Dumbest one is claiming their techniques work against bigger, stronger opponents. MMA and boxing have weight classes for a reason. Size matters when it comes to taking shots and delivering shots. This one was a mismatch from the get go. Good lesson for the Kung fu guy.

That was no Kung Fu Master, that guy was a KZbin video watcher that thinks he learned something.

If wong fei hong was alive today or if magically xu xiaodong travelled back in time to meet WFH, i wonder who would win 😂 Or what if xu xiaodong met If Man in his prime? 🤔
@RangerMan-yv7rl6 ай бұрын
Xu is a great MMA FIGHTER but he needs to learn humility n not just call rude names of ppl no matter how ludicrous the fake kungfu masters. That doesn't go down well when you are a famous person even in the West.
@wolverinex42435 ай бұрын
You need to address that China is prideful in their Gung Fu, so most of the bs is from China not wanting to lose face to any other form of martial arts outside China.
