I agree with you guys on all of that. The unnecessary activism just turns me off off off. And I was already wary of the movie having had to sit through stories about China's purported involvement in the film and with jackets and patches and so forth, and also having seen a Tom Cruise meltdown about masks during some other filming that he was doing back in 2021 I think it was. I had lost respect for him in that moment. He was just unhinged and mistreating his crew on that other movie, and there was no good reason for that. I'm glad that this movie put all of the bullshit aside and left the politics at the door and just focused on being a good movie. It's only 1 of 2 movies I'll pay theater prices to see all this year. Because Hollywood generally (and specifically) still sucks. I will also add my recommendation to see this one in IMAX. It really is worth the extra cost. But don't drink all your soda too quickly. It's a looonnnngggg movie, and your bladder just ain't that big!

I'm pretty sure the Mach 10 plane in the beginning is called Darkstar. Fun fact, for the film they actually got Lockheed to design an an aircraft for them that would realistically look like a mach 10 airplane. They built an actual scale model of it and it was so convincing that China redirected a spy satellite to look at it when they were filming.

Out of courtesy only asked one question next to my aviator buddy during movie: Does airhose really make a difference to hasten engine for quick takeoff ? Would have really liked to ask questions about aircraft design, differences between aircraft maneuverability, as film storyline only hints at performance variance between the few shown. Cheers to all aviators & those who've dealt with high Gs 😊💞🕊
@MysticalDragon732 жыл бұрын
Actually some aircraft require a huffer cart (thats what supplies the air to the air hose that connects to the aircraft) in order to start as they dont have starters on the engines or something providing their own air supply. Also the majority commercial aircraft have this connection if their APU is out in order to be able to start the engines. Some aircraft turbine engines use electric starters but air driven starters are far better and more common especially on larger turbine engines.
