@@GinkgoPete eh, he was even on the scorecards despite getting his jaw busted, and in his opinion, Usman faked a a nut shot to get stoppage time to recover, which, if true, gives a huge advantage to usman, because Colby doesn't hit as hard as usman, he's a volume striker, so a stoppage hinders him from creating pressure and causing accumulated damage. I don't know if usman really got hit in the nuts or not, I seriously don't, I have seen that from the angle to Usman's right, another angle could've been better, but it didn't look like a direct nut shot(could've been indirect, as a shock to the nut pad also hurts, those have happened in the UFC before and are valid for a few minutes off), so if it wasn't a nut shot and didn't hurt him, then the fake makes no sense, but if it wasn't a nut shot and he did get hurt bad, then faking would've been a huge advantage, since he got hurt and that could've been a TKO opportunity for Colby. Don't get me wrong, Colby was the asshole and had taken a lot more damage in the fight at that point, and I'm not saying Usman cheated, but I'm also not sure he didn't.

So, with that 5th going to Usman, had it not been stopped and gone to a decision, it would have ended in Usman winning by split decision (47-48, 49-46 and 48-47). And that's judging like last year, when judges weren't so gung-ho in giving 10-8 rounds. If that 5th round had been a 10-8, Usman would have won by majority decision (47-47, 49-45 and 48-46). Either way, Usman wins.

I believe for hardcore fight fans that Colby's skills is enough to do it. But collectively with his antics, it will net more interest, as he's targeting both demographic (hardcore Martial Arts enthusiasts and the more casual fans who gravitate towards the WWE style promos). Now regarding the topic of stardom, I think it's fair to say that a fighter's ability to sell a fight is directly attributable to their star power. By definition, a star in combat sports is someone who fans would pay to watch fight. If GSP couldn't sell a fight, then in what sense is he a star? The guy can certainly sell a fight, albeit solely with his skills (and maybe people who admire the way he conducts himself) being a "heel" is not the only way to sell a fight. Now maybe you can respond to my comment on Bisping's glass eye, seeing as I responded to your non sequitur comment on Colby's ability to sell a fight (a point that I had no contention with by the way, that you had somehow thrusted upon me). And if we can find some common ground then maybe we can have a conversation/debate on the *actual* topic at hand. Or not, whatever.
