Thanks for taking the time to make these videos, I really appreciate your channel. Most MMA guys I have talked to laugh at Jeet Kune Do but I have secretly used the on guard position, emphasis on footwork/distance management and lead tool striking(fencing without a sword😉) to frustrate many fighters I have sparred and trained with over the years. I am not sure why people look down on JKD and its principles, having worked as a private detective for many years and had hundreds of interactions with the criminal element, it has always been good to have these techniques at your disposal on the street. You cant afford a double leg into a grappling engagement with a potentially armed suspect (a pocket knife jammed into your liver will def wreck your jits game) or a slugfest with a guy that outweighs you by 100lbs. and has a reach advantage.

Jeet Kun Do doesn't exist.... it's the style with no style.

Former UFC champ Chris Weidman’s coach Ray Longo is his striking coach and I believe is certified in JKD. Anyway, Weidman, like many UFC fighters is a wrestler by trade. Longo trained Weidman in some JKD principles. JKD is a philosophy. Bruce studied and did Muay Thai and grappling. In fact, Bruce Lee’s son, Brandon, trained extensively in Muay Thai and put some of it in his movie - Rapid Fire. Don’t listen to people who don’t know what they’re talking about and don’t really know or understand what JKD really is….
