4:02, DO NOT headbutt somebodies actual crown part of their skull, this part is EXTREMELY hard. You will cause yourself and your attacker pain and dizziness, trust me, ive been there. Instead, headbutt them in the nose, much better. Somewhere softer...
@thedragonbroke
@thedragonbroke 10 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was going to say the same. Makes me doubt him actually. When you head butt somebody, bend your neck as little as possible. Use the front part of your forehead, just to the side of that little knob at the top. That is the hardest part of your head. Definitely go for the nose, but be careful because if you go too low you'll end up with teeth in your forehead. If possible pull them by their shirt into your headbutt.
@matthewchapman7893
@matthewchapman7893 10 жыл бұрын
Or grab them round their neck, pull them in and boom goes the nose. Keep the other hand up in guard just incase something goes wrong. If it does go wrong, quickly swing your elbow in their face (Jaw). The pull of the failed headbutt will go together with the elbow ;) Or shirt, thats a good one too :D But wont be as powerful
@thedragonbroke
@thedragonbroke 10 жыл бұрын
Shirt is easiest. They wont defend it as easily as a throat grab. Technique is hard to remember in a street fight if you don't train (I don't, I'm just a bloke who lives in a bad neighborhood) so simplicity is good. I wouldn't remember angling my hand such way and whatnot.

Good dirty fighting tips btw. The ear pulling really hurts. I was wrestling with a friend once, on the floor, and another friend wanted to stop the fight so he grabbed us both by the ear. I was instantly paralyzed by pain and unable to do anything except plead to have my ear released. That lad was known as the best fighter in his school (he wan't even big) but I didn't expect him to destroy me with one twist of the ear ha.

funny that in this videos when talking about dirty fighting noone ever talks about hitting them when they talking, if you got some dude up in your face yelling and screaming at you 9 times out of 10 they gonna get into a fight no matter what you say. So rule number one for me is to hit them when they are talking, normally they have little or no guard and a punch to the jaw is gonna take the guy down, because if they talking their jaw could be open leading to a broken jaw and the button is open for attack, never shot for eyes or face when first punching, there is alot of bone there and if you damage your hand you lost the fight.

Great tips, thank you. Reading through the comments I see a lot of questions and challenging remarks. Our awareness is different in every situation because every situation varies. This video offers options not solutions. Having basic level of self defence and offensive training is a good idea. Then to practice such to ensure that the body and mind is familiar with the movements for those moments when there isn’t time to properly assess the confrontation. The idea here is to be able to extinguish a confrontation with in seconds so that the attacker can not keep its original intent.

I've been in a lot of street fights. Even a few where there was no one there to stop it. I can tell you that this stuff works but it needs to be in your muscle memory. Train your mind so when it's time, you act using Ultra Instinct. You won't have time to think. In the hood, we call it "blanking out". You blanked or "blacked out" loss of time or memory. In the time, your body did things that you are now responsible for.

Why does everyone always talk about jabbing the eyes or even the eye gouge. You can rip the eye right out of the socket and rip out the contents. This is the best self-defense of all time. No one is going to come after you after their eyeball is laying on the sidewalk. And if they do, rip the other one out. You can push the finger right behind the eye and pluck it out, just like a fish hook around the eye ball. And fast. Then there are optic nerves and such attached to the eye so you need to grab those slimy things and tear them out, otherwise the eyeball could pop back into the socket. Obviously he will try to pull his head away, but you can also hook your finger or thumb right inside the orbital bone (cheekbone) or other bone structures around the eye socket. At the very least then, if you can't rip it out, move your finger or thumb around inside the eye socket. The eye damages very easily and is very painful. Likely you will be able to cause permanent blindness in the eye even if you can't get it out. Just some friendly advice from someone who has fought off people twice my size by doing this when I had to serve some time in Mansfield Reformatory.

In this case I think most people avoid that because they think it's too cruel or don't want to see it (I find that disgusting, no offense intended, I might vomit if I see their eye ball out...) But also personally I've got a psychological problem with it still because my mother used to beat me, people kept telling me it was normal and "you'll do it too when you have children" (I talked to the wrong people about it), but when I defended myself from aggressors or harassers a friend (who's not my friend anymore but I considered her my best friend) told me it wasn't fair even if I just pushed them, so my vision of what I can, should, have the right to do is totally fucked up. Even though for example someone else told me "this man tried to rape me so I hit him with a metal bar and accidentally killed him" I insisted that it was right to do that in that situation and not her fault, I understand it when it's someone else, when I imagine myself hitting someone with a metal bar in a similar situation or need to defend myself IRL I feel like I'm my mother and beating a child and that it's unfair, even if I just lightly slap or push someone who is doing way worse. It's probably also the case of many people who will still defend themselves but don't want to do any or too much damage because they've been abused by parents or partners. Like there are situations I've been in which were self-defence but I still feel guilty about defending myself. Only recently am I getting better about this, but I still feel like a bad person. Lately I've decided that if I have to defend myself, then I should hit hard, but it's still psychologically hard (thankfully nothing happened to me as of recently.) If you're in a similar psychological state you will probably find it unthinkable to do that even if it's efficient.

The way I do the fingerjab is thumb pulled in, fingers relaxed and pointing forward(no pinky swaying to the side) and in a 45 degree angle, though it doesn't have to be precise, just make sure you're not throwing straight flexed fingers at your opponent, because you can easily break a finger. I can easily jab a wall in this way with full power. The point is to get your finger as fast to your opponents eye, a slight stroke will do it, no need to pop his eye out, though it will probably hurt like hell. A good tip would be to learn to make the groin kick with the lead leg(JKD style). Faster and less telegraphic. I miss the sidekick to the knee and biting you're opponent when all else has failed.
@neaituppi7306
@neaituppi7306 9 жыл бұрын
The finger jab really doesn't work unless you do some Kung fu conditioning. Usually people will lean back when you push at their neck. You would have to do it really fast, and move in to where the jab would go past his neck, essentially. It is an advanced attack, in that if you don't have the conditioning and skill level, then it doesn't work.

I get the same thing. Just let it happen. Breathe deep though no matter what, and do the right thing anyway. Let it become your friend. You can use that same energy to tear somebodys head off even while your scared. Its not a bad thing. Your nervous system is there for a reason and will help you by pumping out adrenaline. I'm the same way. I go into an altered state and almost into a panic. But I keep moving forward anyway and fight even though I'm scared shitless. I have so much adrenaline pumping that I don't feel anything. ANYTHING. Had my cheekbone cracked and 32 stitches and never knew it until almost an hour after the fight. Just let it be Don't fight against it, let it be your friend and let it work for you. The trick is not to let it make you run away or something.
@onetrapnation4266
@onetrapnation4266 10 жыл бұрын
i know this is unrelated XD and please don't hate on me for this but we all no that your scenario never happened to get that out of the way most people have this problem they usually just get too much adrenaline in their system. so i agree with Tony Gambino just let it flow when you get scared just breathe and always watch for opponents rhythms and when a bigger opponent is facing you dodge and jab their stomach or ribs after they punch you because big opponents usually swing wide so just duck under under and look for pressure points. when big people fight smaller people they tend underestimate and try to end the fight quickly.

If you throw your fingers at a guys throat or eyes, they'll probably flinch and you'll hit their cheekbones, forehead, or chin, and break 4 of your fingers in one go.

Kho Du93 Still risky, since a humans natural instinct when getting punched is to flinch, ie lower their chins. Chins are almost as likely to break a hand as a forehead

Alex Diaz Also after practicing the techniques enough, they become muscle memory and eventually just reaction. That's why you practice a technique over and over, not just to get good at it, but so it becomes programmed into your mind to do said technique in the situation that it's needed.

I've done shotokan karate for around 5 years now and when I get into a fight I don't think about the other person what so ever, I feel every single movement and use his moves for my self. For example whilst this guy attacked me from behind after I accidentally pushed him he got me on a head lock on the floor all I did was take the tiniest bit of skin and pinched it so hard he had to let go. It's all about staying calm and knowing what I do. Remember this move next time it happens to you. It's dirty.

The finger jab is insanely powerful anywhere on the body if you condition them. In Kyokushin Karate, I think it's not allowed at all in sparring

also yeah, if your life is in danger "only do this if very, very neccisary" clap your hands on both sides of his head, like your playing the symbols on his skull. basically, slap/punch him in the ears. it will stun him. and yeee, finger jab the temple of a guys head. ALSO, a punch right inbetween the ribs in the middle of the torso theres a soft spot that will wind them. punch that, you have them.

I hear that about the nuts strike though. The hardest I got kicked in the nuts I did not feel it for 3 minutes, I was ramped up on adrenaline. Alot of these karates or whatever teach that a nut strike will end a fight. wouldnt bet on it. eyes, throat neck, chin, knees, knockout(chin) are all good targets.

trooperfriendly The best advice I can give you: Charge in going for the face, hit them in their sweet spot between the nose and eyes to blind them. When they reach to grab their nose, grab them by the shirt, and whoop them to the ground. Once they're down, you just keep going for the face. And be sure that when you charge in, KEEP YOUR HEAD BACK. Do not run in with your head down, that's asking to get your ass whooped. Good luck, I know you'll kick his ass :)

That's all good info Shane and nobody should discount it. On the other hand, I'm almost 71 years old and tangling with a younger, faster and stronger person is not going to happen. Pepper spray is my constant companion and after that a .45 ACP is plan B. Also, I carry a video camera at all times and, if time allows, I'll get some of the assailants behavior recorded because trying to defend onself in civil court is much easier with video evidence. I've had to interact with more than one hothead whilst walking my two little dogs and having to deal with a large dog that's off leash. You'd think I pepper sprayed their kid or something! Keep up the good work.

I was all serious and thinking "ok, after 15 years of martial arts, I still continue learning. I gotta become like Scott Adkins! Unconquerable, brutal, unspekably tough!!!", making a serious face, paying close attention to the clip, thinking about it, imagining the blows and strikes, mentally preparing, trying to convince myself how fierce I can be.... and then the crying at 2:32 cracked me up xD :'D ended up laughing myself to tears and nearly pissing myself :P

+Christophe Clugston shane got some amateur fights and pro fights in thailand. I think you can't say he's a wannabe when he actually faced some skilled fighters. As a trained person it's no rocket science to beat an untrained person. attacking the eyes or groins when you now how to punch or kick isn't hard ether. Atleast he showed some of his fights, can't see some on your channel, only big talk

A list of some dirty fighting moves: 1.) Biting the neck/jugular, biting off the nose, biting off fingers. 2.) Ripping out the throat, ripping/biting off the ear. 3.) Gouging out the eyes (by which I mean actually removing the eyeball). 4.) Gripping the hair to open up their defenses (if you can, rip off chunks of the scalp). 5.) Grabbing and ripping out the bottom jaw. 6.) Grabbing the testicals so hard that they actually break. 7.) using the nearest possible objects as weapons (gun, knife, pole/club, throwing dirt into the eyes, etc.

We have diferent understandings of what wining wins and that is ok. I made my sugestion based on the hypotesis that others may think wining is overpowering their oponent. I made the sugestion thinking your viewers may benefit from it. I may be wrong to think your public could misunderstand you. Where I live wining means beating your oponent. Anyway, thanks again for sharing and promoting a self defence/violence avoidance philosophy.

hey shane, im an active contributor to the fighttips forum, id like to say a few things. firstly i disagree with the finger jab. The finger jab is just asking for broken fingers, people cant do them properly in general. Also a finger jab to the eyes? most likely you'll hit their face or their head, and break your fingers. id prefer a chop to any part of their neck, and the eye gouge.

Great video! My only suggestion would be for people to train their fingers befoe attempting a finger jab in real time. Accuracy in hitting eyes or throat in real time is not an easy thing. If one misses the eyes and hits the skull, one is in danger of inflicting more damage on oneself than to the opponent. And, broken fingers in a self-defense situation is a bad thing. LOL! Keep up the great videos!

Great video. However, I would recommend that if you have the opportunity to strike someone in the throat, use harder part of the hand than finger tips. Throat strikes are fight stoppers even with tiger mouth style strikes. Just my first hand experience.

You forgot one important piece of survival fighting though. You gotta show aggression. If someone thinks you are willing to kill them to survive they are more likely to leave because you are too hard a target. This is actually step 1 of crime prevention, hardening the target. Make the target more visibly threatening. This can be done with a weapon or by showing a ton of aggression. In a fight that weapon or aggression only get even more threatening, especially if it's been brought to bear on an opponent.

the way your holding your fingers in the "finger jabb" will make you brake them, you should make a half fist when you hit them, still will break the fingers if you hit hard target like the skull, but good for throat and solar plexus or the medical word linia alba
