The thing most people are not talking about is a no weight cut 170 lb Michael Chandler. I know that that version of Chandler might be a mystery. But it could also end up being one of the most terrifying versions there is. Chandler already cuts a ton of weight. And even then, he is already super explosive, super strong, great wrestling etc. If Chandler is not cutting the 15 lbs, will he be more durable? More explosive? More gas tank? If all these things are true, man thats gonna be insane and could potentially cause Conor issues. Well see tho.

The whole problem with a tune-up fight or a less intense of a matchup for him is that 1. Connor isn't gonna be back in the testing pool quick enough to fight before the Chandler fight. 2. You can't replace Chandler with someone else because none of them would be realistic enough to coach TUF while also being a significantly easier matchup.

he has a point about not fighting often enough. he's been saying that since back in the day and it applies to a lot of the higher ranked fighters, not just mcgregor. it seems like as soon as someone makes a name in the ufc, all of a sudden they fight like once a year or even less. look at khamzat. when was his last fight? honestly i think it works against them. they lose momentum. i feel like most fighters learn from each fight and when you stop their cycle like that, it's just gonna fuck their flow up. staying active is key no matter what the skill set

@@kevinmurphy5878 well mma striking is different from striking in specific disciplines like boxing, kickboxing etc. in mma you fight with your hands up or hands down depending on the situation because of the threat of take downs, grappling etc.. he also fought Dustin in the 2nd fight with a high guard not with his hands down (he was going to fight Manny Pacquiao in a boxing match after Poirier 2 hence the heavy boxing style and stance) and was out boxing Dustin up until Dustin’s continued calf kicks compromised Conor’s lead leg and Dustin was able to capitalize and get the KO.. in the 3rd fight they both had great exchanges until Dustin implemented heavy grappling and a ground and pound strategy.. so not sure how you could have your hands down when your on the ground.. then when they got up Dustin checked a head kick from Conor and Conor’s leg already had a small fracture from training camp and the check broke the bone and when Conor stepped back it gave out.. Dustin is also a much higher tier fighter than Chandler and Dustin had defeated Chandler.. Chandler is a superior wrestler to Conor but Conor is one of the greatest strikers in MMA history.. if Chandler tries to stand and bang with Conor he’s gunna get starched but if he implements a ground and pound strategy which Khabib and Dustin both used effectively against Conor then Chandler will win.. at least that’s my opinion based off both fighters strengths/weaknesses and their history..
