I had quite a few amature fights 15 to 20 years ago in new Zealand and here in Australia I'm no great trainer or far far far away from an expert opinion but this is outstanding advice , it was the area in which we weren't shown how to slip punches and move like that because the head gear was so thick and bulky . This is really good advice and great training principles too.

Try moving your head to the side the width of a fist as you throw the jab sometimes, rotating and extending your jab in the process. This gives you preventive defensive head movement and also a full extension jab, keeping your opponent at the tip of your maximum extended reach. Let us know how that works out!

@ryankabcenel9700 4 жыл бұрын
It's amazing people will heed advice from a complete stranger with no credentials, and will believe anything. Shadow boxing with weights is terrible for you and will slow you down. The most you should use is ONE pound to simulate gloves, or better yet just wear gloves. All it will do is help to condition your shoulders and keep your hands up. Studies have been done to prove this. You feel like you're getting faster, but you're getting slower
@gokublack5620
@gokublack5620 4 жыл бұрын
@@ryankabcenel9700 yeah I looked into it and this is bullshit. However, the problem mainly is the internal rotation on the shoulder and that is from the uneven wieght. Shadowboxing in water however is a great tool at this

Love your vids, man. They're usually very good for introducing beginners but with just enough depth to be good reminders for people that have been practicing for years. Hell, I learn so much from these. How do you get rid of reflexes from one combat sport to transition to another? Whenever I spar or do mittwork, I always duck and weave the moment I feel a little fatigued or threatened by a strike. This has gotten me scolded over and over in muay thai. I can't seem to stop it. Trainer says block and strikes slowly, I block, Trainer sneaks a quick kick to get me to block to test out the new blocking technique and I duck and weave in close to get a body shot from different angles instead.

CLOWN STORY: No joke 4 days ago I was playing pokemon go while riding my bike and a group of clowns in a red car, (I think it was a Honda) slowed down as they drove near me. I peddled faster to get away from them and they just drove the same speed right by me. I road to my friends house and spammed his damn doorbell and they got out the car. When my friend opened the door the four clowns ran full speed at me. We screamed so loud and slammed the door shut. #TheseClownsMustBeStopped
