For those wondering how to check a mirror to see if it's one way: Try looking through it. Trick mirrors require the observation room to be roughly 10 times dimmer, so if you cup your hand to make a tunnel around your face you should be able to see through it if it's false. You can also try sounding it out by tapping your knuckle. Regular mirrors are butted against a wall and should make a dull thumping sound.

There's a finger test for two way mirrors: put a fingertip on the surface of the mirror, if there's a space between finger and reflection - it's a regular mirror; if there's Not space - it's a two way mirror. No space, leave the place!

I'm from Egypt and this used to happen more than a decade ago. Women would go in to changing rooms and just vanish in to thin air. One incident were a guy and his wife went to a clothes store and she went in to the changing room and vanished. The husband didn’t stay put and searched high and low for her. The husband was a police officer so he had the upper hand. He eventually found out the truth. The changing room was an elevator staged as a changing room. Once a woman gets in, it activates and they kidnap her for organ trafficing. I don’t remember honestly if he found his wife dead or alive but i think she was dead because her organs were missing. After that case, these kinds of abductions miraculously stopped. But organ trafficing still exists and way worse than before, they changed their tactics to go under the radar. What a world we live in.

There is definitely an authority figure behind this, and they have connections with the police. Stephanie!! You forgot the part wherein on the night Jovelyn was missing, a police (who’s also Jovelyn’s school instructor) sent her a facebook message asking where she was and that her mom’s looking for her. People found it weird because Jovelyn hasn’t been active at school for 2 months and the messages seemed so casual as if they knew each other. People conspired that he sent that message so that he won’t be a suspect. Turns out he likes Jovelyn but she didn’t like him back. He would even comment on her photos that she looks like a doll. This was all revealed by her friends/classmates on Raffy’s show. Raffy then demanded that he should be a person of interest. This was all buried because of new revelations and that he apparently has a strong alibi. People didn’t believe this because the night Jovelyn disappeared, August 5, was the guy’s birthday. And his messages were sent on August 6 at 12:53am. She wasn’t even officially declared as missing during that time and Jovelyn’s mother also allegedly didn’t know who the guy was so his messages didn’t make any sense. Also, remember the sedan found on the cctv that Jovelyn allegedly rode? The guy who sent her the messages owns a sedan. However, the sedan evidence found on the cctv was buried because the investigator was just tired and sleepy when he made that statement on Raffy’s show!! Also, people are suspicious of him because who has time to message a missing student of yours at 1am when you’re tired of celebrating your birthday. The case is so complicated.

Ive been practicing tarot for 6 years and you nailed it with the meditation angle. It is exactly like that, helping you figure out your feelings about a situation and a mind map for solutions. Cards link in different, novel ways that you wouldn't have considered because you're stuck in your own head, in a mental loop or not sure what to do about it. The epiphany in the cards is thinking outside your own confines.

this is VERY suspicious and frustrating. everything genuinely seems to be faked/planted by someone in power. i think the mall or other people in power had something to do with it. either they paid or compensated the cousins in some other ways or threatened them to take the fall. as mentioned, the decomposition was too fast and the bones looked too clean. im afraid the higher ups or the real perpetrators got away with it and used the cousins as scapegoats.... my guess is she got trafficked.... :(

that's exactly my thoughts on the matter... every single step of this is beyond sketchy... like, why did the mall REFUSE to give cctv footage to the police? this to me is one of the most pressing questions. people do things for a reason. for a mall to simply WITHHOLD crucial evidance is so bizarre?? also, if its not just an urbal legend and there WERE several disappearances in Robinsons malls, that is so suspicious. it gives high likelihood of foul play on the mall's part. on top of it all the police so desperately trying to close the case and pin it on whoever...

This happened to someone that my former boss knew. It was a girl that my boss' friend was dating and brought to a foreign country (I forget the country). This story was shared with me back around 2003. Girl went missing inside a retail store. Boyfriend was confused and sworn she was in there yet no where to be found. After authorities came they found that the mirror in the dressing room led to a tunnel. It was a two way mirror (meaning in a dark environment, the person in the lighted environment would never know). That mirror covered a passageway to the tunnels. It was clearly designed to abduct and to kidnap. I heard she got rescued but was never quite the same in the head after. Be aware and informed. Stay safe. 🙏 ps: with regards to the urban myth, wouldn't it be easy to search for trap doors in the dressing rooms? I'm aure with social media today, one can lead a movement of curious fans to go 'hunt' for such trap doors in that very mall.

Furthermore, not everything gets onto the internet or remains online especially if it's before the mid-2000s or even pre-2010s. The worst that's in the world don't make it onto the news in general. For example: There's poor and homeless young boys and elderly murdered everyday around the world. There's countless migrant laborers being tortured or killed everyday, countless more dying attempting to move to foreign countries but are held for ransom or are drowning or being killed before they ever make it. There's wars, massacres and ethnic-cleansings across Africa that get little or no coverage. Human sacrifice for good fortune is big in some parts of Africa, especially if you're albino or sometimes even family members kill their own. @nikkiej.5875 Жыл бұрын
This case is so so suspicious. I feel like there’s a cover up going on especially with the police. It’s really horrible that the police pinned the crime on the cousins when there is no evidence linking them to the crime even though they confessed. Although even though the cousins weren’t involved in her death, I think they still could’ve been involved in kidnapping her and she was brought into human trafficking. She made it out of the mall but she met with foul play while waiting for her bus. It’s also possible that while she was waiting for the bus, someone asked her if she would like a ride home and they ended up abducting her. Also, I’ve never heard of that legend from the Philippines about the human snake. That is the craziest story I’ve ever heard.
@CrowClouds9 ай бұрын
That footage was so fuzzy that the family couldn't even confirm it was her, so it would be very easy for police to say oh, here's grainy footage of a random girl waiting for the bus, which is what they did. So there's zero reason to believe that was her. Which means that she was somehow abducted from inside the mall. And the fact that the mall refused to release footage means that they are the prime susprects.

When we were in a public restroom in a famous Mall specifically Robinson, the restroom were full of queue, every door has queue... And we still lined up. Minutes passed until my next turn, behind me was my mom. We waited and waited... Until more than 5 minutes or more has already passed, and no one got out of the cubicle... I mean we could notice it since the room were so full of people, and that time there is no such thing as physical distancing. And I decided to push the door a little and we were surprised, that all this time we waited for nothing. I really know that someone has gone inside the cubicle! But no one got out? We have always felt hopeless and our culture itself taught us to just accepts such injustices and leave it to prayer. Usually international media doesn't cover our issues much because of how small our country is or when social media personalities cover it there's always a hoard of threats thrown at their way before the issues have been brought to light. Human rights violations from authorities here have been such a big issue for so long that it somehow just became normalized and most of our countrymen just decided to live with it. I hope you never stop doing this and maybe, just maybe people in my country would open their eyes and see how much we have been wronged and the people on top of the system can finally take accountability for their twisted actions.

Same here... I came across a story you covered a few days ago...Now I'm subscribed and look forward to the next stories. Although sad and tragic cases, you have an engaging way of telling the stories that pulls a viewer/listener in. I'm glued from beginning to end.

Yes, Im happy that Filipino Case is covered. But I'd to clarify this, 1. The snake man is not related to this case. 2. The robinson's mall in question of the urban legend is in manila. 3. Jovelyn case is in robinson's palawan which is almost 800km far from Robinson's galleria 😊 😂

as a tarot reader, thank you for this beautiful positive light on it; a lot of people have a skewed view on it and the way you described it were so accurate!

I honestly dont believe a body could decompose that quickly... Something's not right. A body has been found in our hometown that has been missing for a month, with the kind of weather we had... I dont think its possible.

I have so much respect for you and your team for the amount of time you put into shedding light on these cases. Side note- I am truly always impressed with how many countries/cultures embrace tarot readers. (Especially those who can read a playing deck of cards)

When I was a kid in the early 2000s, everyone knew this story. Even my classmates saw it when they were shopping at the mall. They saw a woman accidentally fall through the floor, disappearing into a small space beneath the curtain cloth in the dressing room

Fun fact: they actually made a movie about the Robinson snake but it was alleged the company sued the filmmakers that's why they changed the story instead of the mall they turned it into a train station. I highly recommend it it's from a series film called Shake, Rattle and Role part 8

The first time I went to Robinson's Galleria, I was amazed on how classy the mall is compared to other malls. Everything was actually ok until I went to the rest room... it was actually crazy how chilling I felt then. For no reason and at all l, I suddenly felt so uncomfortable as soon as I stepped in the restroom. Once I got into the cubicle and started unzipping my pants, I really can't explain why suddenly I am getting so nervous and panicky. I decided to not go on and just leave right away beacuse the feeling is really so unsettling. My friend who was with me that time asked me what's wrong because I am so pale and sweaty when I came out of the restroom. I just told her we have get out and I suggested to go the other mall beside Robinson's Galleria. Once we got out, I told her about how creepy I felt inside the restroom and that's when she told me about that urban legend. Seriously, that gave me chills and since then, whenever I needed to go to Robinson's Galleria, I always bring someone with me, and that means in every corner that I go to in that mall. The experience is actually strange because everything is literally ok but that feeling that I got in that restroom is something that I can never forget.

I’ve been to Robinsons Galleria plenty of times back when I was in my 20s because it’s close to work and it was one favourite place my friend and I go to on weekends. Looking back one thing I have noticed was my friend and I never went to the mall’s restroom and fitting rooms as much as we did at SM malls. We were aware of the urban legend but we didn’t believe it, strangely whenever we visited RG we never used the mall’s restrooms. When I went home 2022, we visited RG and my husband asked where the restrooms are. I took him where it is and while standing outside I felt this uneasy, unsettling feeling that you mentioned. I felt something off about it that I couldn’t explain. In the end I went to SM Megamall and there I used the restroom

@@THB_M888 It is really strange.... creepily strange. I did not even know the urban legend that time because I was new in Manila then. I also went to Megamall that time just to pee, 😁😅. I really can't explain why I felt so sweatily uneasy that time...

Always trust your gut. Humans are animals, we have instincts too, we just convince ourselves out of them a lot of the time. Something my mother ensured in me from as far back as I can remember was to trust my gut, even if it was rude. I’m beyond thankful for that and I truly believe it’s helped keep me safe.

i remember getting trapped at one of the restroom stalls in that mall when i was 12. Seems like the lock got stuck. I tried to call someone for help but no one was there so i panicked and i crawl to the open space under the door. When i heard this story a few years after that i was so scared i was unable to use the malls restrooms for a long time hahaha

I’m a Filipino girl that has never been to the Philippines before, and after listening to the beginning. It made me not only terrified but captivated, feeling safe in a public place, only for it to turn into something darker. Thank you Stephanie, for being an amazing story teller, I appreciate you a lot!! Also note to self: don’t use changing rooms in PH malls…😅 EDIT: JUST SAYING, I WASNT BEING SERIOUS ABT THE PH MALL THING!!

@uglybetty8747 I am from the Philippines and NOT ALL malls are scary unless you’re here will you ever judge that it isn’t safe to use the changing rooms. Do not judge as if you’re from here. Do’ not comment like you know what’s really happening in this country to even generalize it. I watch a lot of true crime stories mostly stories from the US and Europe and other asian countries. Does that mean just because i watched that a White or black man in the US raped and killed a woman walking down the street happens to all when i travel to their country?

I was in the same area as the victim. For over a month the majority of the citizens cooperate and give sympathy to the family, every morning you will hear radio stations broadcasting about the updates and conspiracies roaming around about the case. However, after Jovelyn's body was found, there were too many leads and suspects, even the suspect confesses, people still think that there is still more to it and can't accept the result and still think someone is the culprit even if the case is closed, it continues until the community became toxic in relation to the case until people lose interest in the case.

This case was well researched. It covered everything that happened here in the Philippines. It is soooo frustrating how incompetent the police are and how uncooperative people were.

I was still a teenager when the Alice Dixon incident happened, thank goodness, me and my friends only like to hangout at National Bookstore to browse/read novels most of the time and tried on suede leather shoes displayed inside the glass cabinet/escaparate in a different popular mall. We all believed about that urban legend, never ever went to that "mall" I remembered something but it was vague from my memory since it was several decades ago but until now I never and will never set my foot in that place. The bone being so cleaned or almost looks like it was bleached must be from strong HCL acid from the stomach of the "beast" that swallowed its prey.

So she went in the changing room, the mall had a blackout, she walked out of the mall where two of her cousins somehow knew she would be there alone at that time, kidnapped her, killed her, dumped her body somewhere where crocodiles would carefully bite off her flesh (not the bones) while leaving her in place, causing her body to decompose in less than 20 days, before one of the cousins confesses that all of that was their cousins plan for an entire month before one of them somehow manages to stab himself in a fight. Makes sense to me, I have no questions.

I am one of those who automatically felt the lies when they found those bones and said that it was Jovelyn's, & the lies when they accussed Jovelyn's cousins.. as a human being .. you can feel all the lies on this case! we've seen so much crimes that we can already identify fake tears versus the genuine ones. Her cousins cry are deffinitely genuine and it what made us believe that the whole ordeal were all staged! It makes me feel, that someone's with higher authority in this city or perhaps in the country is behind Jovelyn's dissappearance!
