Remember, without a big family, you won't survive in the Philippines. With your wester mentality and without money or without a big family, you won't do long in those provinces. It look nice as a tourist, but those poor people are going trough problems also. When someone die, they have to beg door to doors to get money to buries the dead person. That is the real reality

You don't know what videos like these gives to Filipinos currently outside the country(Oversees Filipino Workers). We are away from our families and videos like these give us a glimpse of our homeland. We have to sacrifice a lot and leave our paradise for our families. This bit of happiness and nostalgia really helps us get through day sometimes. Thank you for posting.

When I was there visiting family with a my wife and a white friend of mine from the states we were staying in a fishing village and we kind of adopted some kids that lived in the house we were staying in, one day we walked the kids to school just to experience a typical day in the life of the Philippines, believe it or not that was a cool experience for us everyone was so nice, we met several teacher and the school principal got to watch them do their morning exercises and sing their nation anthem it was cool seeing the different culture and everywhere we went people were so kind and nice to us we were the only 2 white people in the village and we kind stood out, smiles and waves from everyone and I was shocked at how happy everyone there was despite the obvious poverty, proof that you don’t have to be rich to be happy, those kids we took to school we spoiled while we were there and now years later they sill call me Tito (uncle) Mike and I keep in touch with the whole family through FaceBook, I’m looking forward to going back and seeing those kids as young adults.

Awesome video and the little lady there was so absolutely adorable!!! I so prefer these type of videos as opposed to all the 5 star hotel/resorts/malls/touristy areas that everyone else has shown. If you're going to live in the Philippines you should learn about their culture, and no better place to do it than in the province. Just being kind and respectful goes a long way, but pitching in and trying to help and learn goes even farther. You are a great ambassador for foreigners and let the locals see that not all foreigners are the same, there are some good hearted ones that want to be a part of their life style too.

Because you're in Bohol, we call this yummy food as 'tinunuang nangka' or a young jackfruit in coconut milk. It's so yummy especially when added with ginger, garlic, spring onions and bell pepper, and with dried anchovies (if you can eat dried fish) and sometimes pork (a rare option). This is one of my favorite food.

⭐️ Here, we call each coconut pressing stage a different name (Tagalog): 1. First press with a little water is KAKANG GATA (coconut cream). Separate that. 2. A second press is made with a little more water is just GATA (coconut milk). It’s important in reading recipes which consistency is needed- milk or cream. It’s the same thing just more water is milk. Generally stews call for cream and soups call for milk. Cooking it too long will quite sadly turn it into oil. Still delicious but not creamy. It’s especially critical in making Bicol Express. Sadly, we know only to throw away the pulp. That can actually be still useful. I think you can extract coconut butter from it-which sooo delicious. I can be wrong. But I imagine you can use a mechanical press and squeeze every last drop of it into a very oily mix. Pour that into a a centrifuge and you separate butter.

I wanna go back home. This is our life when we were in the Philippines 🇵🇭. I have the same farm where we have all kinds of fruit trees, coconuts, langka, lanzones, mangga etc. Now we’re living in this place where all you see are shining things that doesn’t impress me anymore. 🇺🇸 US is full of hate culture now, not what it use to when we came here many years back. Time to save up, pack up and go home 🇵🇭

Love this episode. Brings back a lot of memories with my parents' farm and livestock in Bukidnon. Virtually, we didn't have to spend a centavo on what we eat. And we can even have lechon any time we want and anything in between including quail eggs, turkeys, ducks, chickens, goats, etc.. The Geese and dogs are off limits though to the menu because they guard the whole property.

I tried climbing the coconut tree when we went to visit the Philippines, and it was hard. I didn’t even make it to the 2nd notch because I kept on slipping. I’m actually impressed that you were able to get up there more than halfway. Love the jackfruit in coconut milk dish so much! Personally, it’s best to simmer the jackfruit in coconut milk for a longer period of time in order to create a more concentrated creamy sauce & a more pronounced flavor.

I envy this life so much. You have no idea how many people would sacrifice a lot of things just to have a land in province so we could settle in province one day or for vacation. Waking up to roosters and goats in the morning feels so much better than waking up on vehicle noises in the city. You are just one of the very few foreign vloggers here in Philippines who does this type of content instead of going to luxurious places. Keep up the good content man and I hope you meet a lovely Filipina that will show you everything in PH one day.

America has lost its was with the high cost of living and craziness...this is what we all need. I miss traditional hard work and values...I went to visit my fiance recently and she pulled out the game scrabble...we played for hours and she spelled American words that I couldn't even spell...reminded me of the times before cell phones and social media...privacy and simplicity

That’s my favorite dish growing up in the Oriental Mindoro province. I like when it’s made with a little thicker coconut milk sauce. The camansi (round green) a lot smaller than jackfruit and it has better texture. So good. Thanks for the awesome video! Watching from Seattle. 👊🏻💪🏻

Don’t throw the grated coconut after squeezing milk from it, You can make it Coconut macaroons. Just add a cup All purpose flour, eggs, grated cheese and condense milk. Scoops in baking pans or molder then bake until lightly brown. Yummy dessert 😋 ❤
