Every time I draw hands, they look awful to me while I'm drawing them. Then I look at them later and I'm like "Oh, that's a hand. Nice."

I participated in funguary last year and it has become my favorite challenge! For some of the prompts I just drew the mushrooms themselves as tattoo designs and that spread helped me get my apprenticeship! I honestly just love the community for that particular challenge and I highly recommend everyone check feefals prompt list out

I totally relate to wanting to do multiple projects at once but getting worried about that. But I wouldn`t overthink it, and go for what your intuition tells you! I don`t think humans are supposed to be 100% consistent and interested in a single thing, so for me it's been helping to just accept that my motivation swings around, and I'm the most productive when I ride these waves instead of scheduling and planning every single thing.

Working between comics and having funding from social media is something I've always struggled with balancing (especially since I'm in the beginning stages of building a platform). I like that you're choosing to find easier to produce videos so you can still chat on here while not getting overwhelmed by both comics and video creation!

As a person who really wants to read your comic you should start a kickstarter for the first issue. It's actually really nice to hear your perspective on maintaining social media while also trying to create a comic. I've been working on a personal comic project under contract for the past couple of years, and I've always wondered what it was like for others, because for myself the amount of energy and focus it takes means I've needed to pick one or the other and make a sacrifice between the two (and sacrifice the other fun, less intensive projects that I often want to do because I've learned I'll burn out doing both), especially on top of freelance or a full time job, which is very much the case for myself. I wish you a lot of luck in committing to that project and finding your balance with it, and it's really cool to hear your thoughts on the process throughout, especially since I don't really hear conversation around this exact topic on KZbin! I hope you continue to share this kind of conversation in the future.

I feel like with those kinds of challenges, the best thing is to compromise, so maybe doing one illustration a week rather than every day is more manageable, and you end up with four matching illustrations at the end of the month ^^

perhaps you could stretch the mushroom prompts over 2-3 months? doing one every 2-3 days? or even over 28 weeks, doing one a week on a set day and time to keep that schedule that helped you in the past?

I just dont know why every artist insists on using shapes instead of forms in construction? I feel like its unintuitive that forms I studied are just for that, for study and the real bussines is done using shapes that then you transform into forms trough values and conture with understanding you've got by studying forms, like I dont want to let go of forms I had to go trough so much agony to finaly understand and be comfortable with but in the same time shapes and turning them into coplex forms are the "final step" in learning fundamentals, any advice?
@CosmicSpectrumArt2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if there's really such a separation between shapes and forms. Because art is 2 dimensional, you obviously have to see shapes - shapes are 2 dimensional, which is why it's just an aspect of 2d art you can't remove from the process. But form is 3D and when you draw a flat image you still have to always imagine it in 3 dimensions, so shape and form are basically the same thing...
@krsmanjovanovic86072 жыл бұрын
@@CosmicSpectrumArt I actualy made few "experiments" with drawing only the shape of a cube in 3:4 angle (basicaly a flat trapezoid) and then using only conture and values to describe its 3d form, and I actualy got acurate 3d forms even tough my value and conture skills are trash, you are right! Right now I still need some solid see trough forms to guide me in more complex situations like weird poses and angles, but I can see now how more versatile and efficient shapes are, thank you!
