In addition to what the other two replies said, the show doesn’t take place in a universe that is static. Each universe is a different take on real science and technology, so he’d have to pick and choose episodes to theorize upon- unless, of course, the theory is that they’re interconnected somehow.
@jamiestpaul7917 жыл бұрын
Actually Black Mirror is a goldmine for this channel, the theory being: are they all set in the same universe? We see someone with the user name I_AM_WALDO in the episode white Christmas, which is one episode after The Waldo Moment and the Z-Eyes are a recurrent tech that pops up in many episodes and in different forms. There's honestly a rly good essay trying to connect the dots in that show. Also, the last episode of season 4, The Black Museum, I wont type any spoilers because it's only just come out but it rly adds to the theory that it's all one universe.
@jamiestpaul7917 жыл бұрын
Actually this rly got me thinking. Black Mirror spoilers ahead----> So the hacker(s?) in Shut up and Dance develop an advanced dating app that collects information about the user and runs simulations to find a perfect partner, in order to fund their campaign to expose paedophiles and adulterers. The tech for this app is further evolved into the cookies in White Christmas by the hacker(s?) who at this point have gained a huge level of control over the modern world through blackmail. They carry out various deeds during the mid 21st century including blackmailing the government of the U.K. into setting up a torture prison/ theme park, getting the Prime Minister to fuck a pig on national television and shutting down a company trying to manufacture tracking devices for children. During this time developers around the world discover the tech in the dating app and reverse code it to make their own products that are seen in the episodes: The entire History of You, Be Right Back, Playtest, San Junipero and the memory scanner seen in Crocodile. Seeing a need for massive global change the hacker(s?) engineer the plot of The Waldo Moment to happen, and then follow it up by pulling off the events of Hated in the Nation. The mass killings that occur cause widespread panic and emergency measures are put in place to control the internet. This snowballs into the world we see a short glimpse of at the very end of The Waldo Moment. With global resources limited but a desire for the world to stay the same the global Waldo Uprising creates a situation where a large portion of the world's population is living like we see in Men Against Fire, and a lucky elite live in a world like we see in Nosedive, kept in line by a social media big brotheresque fear of being 'disliked'. Over some more decades this evolves into the two worlds we see in Metalhead and Fifteen Million Merits, with soldiers no longer being tricked into killing with V.R. and simply using robot 'Dogs' to hunt down and kill the undesirables, and the elitist culture of Nosedive transforming into a seedy, greedy culture of reality T.V. and pornography. Most of this theory got pinned together by thinking that the events of Metalhead weren't an apocalypse but just an extension of the plot of Men Against fire and I worked back from there. Probably full of holes so please please please watch all 4 seasons of Black Mirror if you haven't yet and make this theory better. Hugs etc.

0:37 I wonder if Deadpool could survive the Hunger Games if it was before he got his healing factor and with no weapons until he picks some up.
@ShieldWolf-yp3cr7 ай бұрын
If Deadpool had his healing factor in that scenario you would have to change the name to pool games. Cause you know he would have too much fun with that. But if he had not gotten his healing factor and mutations I wouldn't bet money on it. But after he got his healing factor and somehow got it removed and has already kinda lost his mind. I would be scared for those people he has to fight.

@jamiestpaul7917 жыл бұрын
Not entirely sure how they tested it but I'm guessing it's along the lines of a standard eye test and he was probably found to require glasses. You're not allowed to wear spectacles if your in the general infantry for plenty of obvious reasons, like dropping them or lens glint, whatever, but you can operate in any number of support roles while wearing specs.

It takes much better eyesight to accurately fire a weapon than to drive a car. Chances are if you're driving through a war zone you won't need to read any road signs.

Surely a simpler solution is that Wade grew up reading Hemmingway and idoled him, resulting in him developing similar personality traits and, according to the movie, unlocking a power he thought his idol had. Itd also explain why he has so much interest in controlling his narrative: he wants to be as good as Hemmingway.

Hemingway also had a huge tendancy to piss off everyone, yes Fitzgerald, but he really pissed off Gertrude Stein too by keeping wanting to hang out with her even though she didn't like him anymore.
@cuckerinokripperino42167 жыл бұрын
Not how it happened bud, he pissed her off by wanting to be in the middle of the action and warfront. She thought her writers should sit back and observe, this is when she first starts writing about how Hemingway was like a little kid throwing a fit. In 1933 Stein writes a book and in it she talks about how Hemingway deep down is just a yellow belly and etc things. Hemingway then publishes about her being a lesbian after that they never had anything to do with each other. Ive never heard about this "theory" of him wanting to hang out with her and she didnt like him no more can you provide some kind of link that shows where you got it from?

Haven't read Gertrude Stein's piece on Hemingway (although having read a lot of books by her), but the theory of him trying to make out with Stein was explore in «Alice & Gertrude, Natalie & Renée et ce cher Ernest» a play by Jovette Marchessault (in french) written and perform in 1984 (there is a printed version I read). Since it's a work of fiction (a prosopopoeia where Renée Vivien, Alice Toklas, Natalie Barney, Gertrude Stein and Ernest Hemingway meet at the same place and Hemingway bothering them all :p ), they are maybe more nuance to it than I might have put in my first comment. Thanks for correcting me. But he really look like a Deadpool in that play :p

*SPOILER ALERT* Mr. MatPat sir, I have a question/recommendation. I know pirates of the Caribbean is an alright franchise but one thing has never been addressed in the series. Jack sparrow's iconic compass is actually like something special. It points to where the holder truly wants to go/find. SPOILER ALERT, in the newest movie when held by one of the main characters, not jack sparrow, it points to his long lost daughter because as he said he is looking for a family/home. And when this character wanted to find Sparrow it pointed him in the direction of Sparrow. So this compass is obviously enchanted. So I have a question because I know you like to dig deep and overthink things, every time jack sparrow holds the compass it points somewhere * obviously * but keep in mind that it is enchanted or something. My question is, what is jack sparrow truly looking for. I know he has not found it yet because at the end of the new movie he opens it and it points to some direction and looks at it thoughtfully. I think it would be an interesting theory and would love to hear your thoughts. Maybe I'm just overthinking it but you never know. Also to anyone who has read this far, thank you for reading. Sincerely me.

JC S yup. so I'm gonna phrase the simple questions that debunk most of matpats theories. how, and why? how did Ernest Hemingway end up in a situation to receive DNA from wolverine? why would anybody risk turning somebody so conspicuous into a superhero? after all, you'd be able to see upon researching it "oh, Deadpool showed up about the same time Hemingway died/disappeared/gained superpowers, secret identity EXPOSED" ...so, making him a superhero doesn't really work.
@donovan63917 жыл бұрын
he actually answers the how did hemingway end up in that situation, he was a man that wanted to join the military whether by government or outsourced methods if someone offered to make him superhuman to be able to fight in the war at the time he probably would i mean look what he did to his boat so there's the how question answered, and the why answer is that at the time he wasn't famous in that time period so why wouldn't they with a man so willing to do anything to fight the enemy and relatively unknown at the time its possible. now dose this mean he is or isn't who knows i just answered you plot points cause they bugged me. hope you like my reasoning!
@madchu77 жыл бұрын
donovan6391 it works I guess, but just fixing his bad eyesight (the reason he couldn't join) seems less conspicuous and more practical as far as a reason for human experimentation, as opposed to turning him into an uncontrollable, all powerful mutant. I'd have to do more research to see if Hemingway had written books at the time he supposedly would have gotten hooked up with wolverine DNA, but I see your point, but respond saying that there's no reason to pick someone so arrogant and unstable for your superhero. I mean, who's to say he wouldn't turn on you?
@donovan63917 жыл бұрын
and i respond with when has the human race ever been "reasonable" in anything we do if we do something it usually has to be done as big as possible. and that is the exact reason to pick him he would be easy to control and all they would have to do is point him at the enemy and wait then pick up the pieces after wards (i don't say this to be callous but remember we were at war so compassion went out the window) they wouldn't be trying to create a superhero but a super soldier a weapon on the scale of the a-bomb to end the war asap to minimize death toll.
