Ok the theory that people aren't just falling completely randomly into the backrooms, and that their electromagnetic-wave-generating technology is messing with the interference given off by the portal opening and causing them to fall in, is actually a genius idea. Literally creating null zones on accident.
@crangejo2 жыл бұрын
Can be debunked tho On Found Footage #2, the girl throws wood chips and a baseball into the back rooms, and almost certainly more things before getting her camera nearby. And no, it's not because she "opened" it with an EM device so subsequent things could be thrown inside, otherwise, the car that noclipped in would've made every single car to travel that lane to eventually noclip too

An idea that i just thought of: the backrooms have Infinite space and therefore infinite mass. An object with infinite mass can theoretically time travel as it bends spacetime which explains the time difference. This would also explain why people fall into the backrooms as space folds in on its self.
@kingofthefunnyguys2 жыл бұрын

@nohaxjustxmod-sfs39842 жыл бұрын
But an object with infinite mass and infinite space, what’s it’s density? We see in the backrooms that everyone is being pulled, well down. At least that’s what it seems like. If gravity works how it’s supposed to in the Backrooms, then the concentration of mass increases the further down you go and lesser upwards because if both had equal amounts the gravitational force from both sides would cancel out. It’s a wonder how the Backrooms hasn’t collapsed under it’s own weight yet. But the more probable explanation is gravity is also warped. Considering time is heavily linked to space which are both linked to gravity, the distortion of time likely means the Backrooms doesn’t have gravity in the same way we do.

Unfortunately, that wouldn't explain why they are infecting people and attempting to impersonate them, The Thing style. My guess is that they're neither a "Virus" nor an "Anti-Cheat", but a scrapped "Enemy Mob" that was supposed to conflict with humans and counter them, in a sense. A mob AI that would evolve non-stop in an effort to infect whatever it came into contact with, and thus give Humans an incentive to evolve further in order to combat them, and exterminate them, but were ultimately too dangerous to other living beings that didn't have the advantages that Humans have. Since these "mobs" were based on Bacteria, my guess is that the backrooms is meant to keep them alongside all of the other "cut content", but since they are "AI", they wandered and evolved in the Backrooms.

Another point about the questionable timeline - Kane used to have all his Backrooms videos in a playlist organized in chronological order according to the dates in the video descriptions. This order had his first video, "The Backrooms Found Footage," at the end of the playlist. But I noticed after he uploaded "Presentation" that the playlist has been rearranged to follow what I think is order of release - "The Backrooms Found Footage" is now at the beginning. With the time distortions proposed in this theory, that rearranging might (or might not) mean something about the accuracy of the official timeline. Whatever the case, it looks like from now on, theorists will have to keep track of the timeline ourselves..

A theory: The backrooms, being the unused assets of the universe, is somehow outside of space-time or the flow of time is being manipulated in or around the backrooms. Information such as radiowaves and sound waves from all across time is “trapped” in the backrooms because of the noclipping effect. I don’t know if this means that you could be walking around the backrooms and a gamma ray burst from a star would just appear in front of you. Properties of electromagnetic waves could also be different in “real life” and the backrooms so I have a small doubt about the null effect causing the noclipping (although there is much more evidence to support that theory). This could be why we get transmissions from the future.

In video games(especially older FPS games), a Null Zone is a space in which is outside of an additive-bsp style map. Which the player accidentally accesses by reaching "leaks" in the geometry. In games that use additive bsp maps(Quake, Half-life, in comparison to subtractive bsp maps like Unreal), there are spots where if the geometry does not meet up properly, you get "leaks" where the light can bounce outside of the world geometry(bsp brushes) and go out into the null zone. A player can also fall through the missing geometry and essentially fall forever(or loop from bottom to top). I think this is where he gets this from, although scientifically, it makes sense too.

the electromagnetism theory here actually has a lot of weight, imo. The term that came to mind was "destructive interference"; that is, when waves of opposing frequency interact their magnitudes cancel each other as he pointed out. However, the "null zones" that are referred to are *physical* and this raises the question again: how were the backrooms created? They definitely seem procedural, and these "null zones" point to some governing variables behind the way they generate. Perhaps the universal variables that dictate the universe are also a seed of sorts for the backrooms. EM frequency somehow dictates the 3-dimensional space of the rooms at a static point in time, and matching EM frequency and spacial position in the real world "softens" the barrier by destructive interference to such an extent that it fuzzes the simulation's interpretations and pushes things through the threshold. This also points towards some worthwhile experiments. Destructive interference only nullifies both signals fully when the signals are of the same frequency and out of phase by half of a wavelength. Amplitude, however, must also match to perfectly nullify a signal. This begs the question- by what accuracy does the simulation float variables? How precise must a signal be before mistakes are made? This also could mean that destructive interference need not be perfect as well, since if the threshold isn't perfectly sustained then a small window of any other close-to-perfect frequency could eventually nullify the signal enough to break the barrier. This is especially dangerous, since the degrees of freedom for accepting an EM signal as a free ticket to the backrooms increases and the number of combinations likewise increases by orders of magnitude. TLDR: Assuming EM waves are cause for people falling into the backrooms and the simulation theory holds water, the less accurate the simulation is, the more likely any signal is to cause the "clipping" to occur. The connection to a universal variable may also make predicting the layout of the backrooms a possibility. I really wish that Kane's ideas warranted a full on original series off platform, because the amount of creativity on display here is truly worth the attention. Hope he has a long a fulfilling career, and the boundaries of conventional horror keep being pushed in unique directions like this.

On the other hand if its a spot in both time and space, it might be more plausible. Hey! I may have an idea for the "Null Zone". In some video games, there is no boundary or skybox (generally its more common with skyboxes than boundaries). So, you can technically go on infinitely upwards or downwards. The more you go, the more degraded the game gets, i.e, more jittery, more unstable, and you keep going until the numbers get too high and it gets so degraded that your game crashes. Where the degradation begins, is called a "Null Zone" in some games. My theory, is that the more you go down in the backrooms, the more distorted and broken things get. This would fit the theme of video games and going outside the boundaries. P.S, Aeraki#9214

I have a backrooms theory: Humans built the backrooms. Since time and space don't work the same in the backrooms, the backrooms could have been built millions of years after humans first enter them. The future humans built the backrooms in the past is one way to make sense of it. Why did they do it? Maybe to continue the loop of people finding it and then needing to build it so it happened in the first place. The original future humans built it didn't know what they were doing. They opened up a portal to an empty void. They built the backrooms maybe as storage which would explain all the random items or maybe even as an experiment. When they stepped in, it messed with time and made them build it in the past without realizing just to make their way back into the real world, everything was different because they rewrote the future

@@judgment5090 There are many many many things going on. But to simplify, they are all pinned together because of their individual wave forms interacting. Matching wave formes (for example iron to iron) lead to stronger pinning, thus materials naturally collect if close enough, and become each other via the trading of parts. When close enough together a field is created that repulses other particles, like a sort of hard cap on particle density. As far as losing particles, you do that nonstop. It's just you lose them as such a rate that eating can compensate for it very easily. The friction of existing is enough for particles to fly off you like rain, and we do a lot more then just exist to survive. So every person has a sort of haze of matter flying off them at all times.

I have a theory, you said the plot of the book “the yellow wallpaper” which has a woman who tries to free another woman trapped in the walls and then becoming her. The entities try to free your soul and end up “becoming you” by infecting you. The backrooms aren’t the scrapped or unimportant ideas in the AI, it’s the AI’s attempt to trap the entities by no-clipping them into “the yellow wallaper” style rooms. But I don’t think the entities are actually just entities that spawned there, they were people. Let’s make an analogy; let’s say people are like grains of sand in a sifter(the sifter being the 3 dimensional plane in-between the backrooms and the real world) whenever a rock gets too small, it becomes sand and falls through the sifter. But I think that “getting too small” correlates to the early stages of getting infected and becoming an entity, therefor trapping the hosts into the backrooms and the older entities “help” the hosts because they’re undistinguishable from a normal person. This is the act of getting trapped in a room and becoming an entity. PLEASE make sure he sees this

In truth, this actually mirrors the real world in that information and concepts are the core substance and function of our universe rather than matter and energy like people think. Conservation of energy actually can be broken in certain situations, such as when the expansion of spacetime stretches light waves which increases their wavelength decreasing their energy. However, conservation of information can never be broken, and it's conservation of information that causes conservation of energy. As an additional idea that might not be strictly relevant, but I thought was interesting, is that the original idea of the backrooms gives me less of an impression of a video game world, and more of an idealist world where, if you happen to slip behind the ordered nature of the face of reality, it begins to more resemble the chaotic and dreamlike nature of subconscious, except that there's very little presence there, because everyone is living in the ordered and conscious aspect of reality leaving only phantoms and distortions in the backrooms.

Sounds like the stuff, you would only heard explored in Novels and Visual-Novels, and some Animes and Video-Games.

I’m not going to lie, this video has just really inspired me to read The Yellow Wallpaper. It sounds interesting and gives a similar feel to The Bell Jar, which is a novel I love. I’m going to to come back to this comment and give you my thoughts on the book when I read it.
@readypickles2 жыл бұрын
It’s not really much of a book. It’s only like a few pages long and is definitely not a novel. Feel free to read it but don’t be too surprised with how short it is lol

The Thief of Always is another book, and as MatPat mentioned how time worked differently- it reminded me of this book partly because of when the main character leaves a place of fear and death, it’s been over 31 years, as everyday a year passes.

Congratulations MatPat, you’ve done so good with this backrooms stuff I’m now fully expecting a video on SCPs, and I’m expecting you to do them justice

While I would enjoy that, I think it may be a little hard given that “there is no canon” is a common motto of ours, not to mention that the community literally has the ability to debunk theories if the votes are in its favor
@TheInvisibleMan-062 жыл бұрын
@@伊紹菲 yeah that’s true, but I mean, theres no real canon in the backrooms either, as far as I know at least, and maybe he could do theories on one specific story line, like how this is about one version of the backrooms made by Kane Pixel
@ExarchGaming2 жыл бұрын
I think MatPat has kinda glossed over this point, that this isn't the creation of Kane Pixel. it's a collaberative writing project that originated on 4chan I believe. (I also think the SCP Universe also was as well.) No single person owns the backrooms, and anyone and everyone can utilize it freely.
@TheInvisibleMan-062 жыл бұрын
@@ExarchGaming yeah, but MatPat isn’t doing theories on the Backrooms as a whole, he’s doing it theories on specifically Kane’s Backrooms
@ExarchGaming2 жыл бұрын
@@TheInvisibleMan-06 yeah, yeah i recogize that, but I don't think at any point he even mentions that. It gives the impression that Kane is the inventor of it, and I guess I think it's slightly disrespectful to the people who came up with it, to not even at least in passing mention to inform everyone that it's a collab writing project.

Ik “The Science!” Series is game theory exclusive but I’d love if Austin can do “the science of noclipping through physical objects” or into a different dimension.
@scrapduck4112 жыл бұрын
Assuming noclipping through physical object is almost all about quantum physics, the audience Who would access and understand such concepts would be drastically shrinked. I myself don't get quite well how quantum physics work, but the concept would be amazing

The backrooms are like the cliffs from subnautica's early development, being seemingly random and hard to treverse.

What I find interesting is typically when you no clip into the Backrooms you no clip typically behind a wall in Creepypasta lore. The Kane Backrooms lore shows random cars can no clip, both a story narrative and irl terrifies me

Imagine meeting Matpat in the backrooms. Not his human body, just his 2D cutout... "Yeah, it's pretty weird around here and I saw some guy's corpse. I have a weird feeling about all of this and that's NOT just a theory"

When Matpat noclips into the backrooms be like: Patthew: “ah! It’s finally happening! The carpets are just as soggy as I expected!” Entity: “DUOW WAI WAI WAAAAAAAA” Patthew: “ah-ha! I see that in person, it’s movement and vocal patterns are identical to the secondary reincarnated villain of a fnaf spin-off indie game mentioned earlier, the creator of which game goes by the name “murderpoop” but still remains anonymous, so perha-“

Kane is a genius. All the spin and rippoffs are hardly worth watching. Waiting patiently for his new uploads deepening the mysteri. And sometimes I watch all his content but it,s still a riddle and it makes me curious how many he makes and leads us with this masterpiece. Only 16 years old he,s up for a fantastic carrière.
