I never really thought of the predator in this film being a young cocky risk taker while the first film featured a more methodical and patient hunter, but it does make a lot of sense and gives a good weight and diversity to both films. Excellent treatment as always. :-)

I saw Predator 2 in the theater. The audience lost their minds when they saw the trophy wall. In some ways, i like it more than Predator. Probably because it's in a place we feel we've tamed and civilized. The WWII idea sounds awesome.

My older Brother took me to see this film. That Trophy wall scene, I don't care how brief, was an epic moment. My older Brother, who is a fan of the Alien films did not recognize the Alien Skull. I did, and I was nudging his arm telling him that was the Alien Skull. Of course he did not get what I was actually saying and said to me "yeah, those are all Alien skulls" 😅😅😅

I love this movie :-) And the Predator stalking Harrigan at the cemetery and the subway scene's "want some candy" really nails home how different the two Predators are in my eyes. Also they really should have explored the potential of Predators in the past, just imagine one during the Crusades and how limited the options for the humans would be... That could be awesome if done right but it is little more then a dream at this point.

Be nice if it was set in the Northern Africa campaign, predator in the desert could be fun. Or in Italy, predator in the mountains. Western Europe is a bit overused, but plenty of other theaters that would work well

I like Predator 2 a lot. one thing that always amazes me when I watch it is how Mike Harrigan is ballsier than Dutch Schaefer, despite the lack of heavy weaponry and the physical bulkness. I'd say he's like a more serious and hardened version of Roger Murtaugh, but even more fearless than Martin Riggs, and he shows it from the start. I also love the cast, from Maria Conchita Alonso, Ruben Blades, Gary Busey, Bill Paxton... Well It's a shame they never been able to make another Predator movie as good as the first two.

Dutch said it himself. 'We're a rescue team. And don't do this kind of work." Dutch left the Army to form his own special team of contractors because he was done with fighting wars. Sure, he would conduct rescue ops that involved combat, but he didn't want to deal with the machine political agendas, and bad intel.A couple of times,= in the film, we get the impression that Dutch and his team have been screwed over by the CIA and other "customers" in the past. Dutch was driven by a will to survive and his sense of responsibility for his team. All his actions were in trying to get to the extraction site,until he lost his entire team. Found a tactical advantage to level the playing field. And set out to avenge his men. Harrigan was fully committed to winning the war on the streets. After losing his friend,his actions were driven by seeking revenge. Harrigan had multiple opportunities to stand down and let Keys team deal with the Predator.

Also loved the grit and grunge of this movie. LA looks like an absolute hellhole, the opening gun fight is intense, epic and exciting and Harrigan taking the Predator head on and beating him is a highlight.

The xenomorph skull in the ship is without a doubt, one of the greatest eater eggs in Sci-Fy film. Love this movie as much as the first one. Love Predators. Adrien Brody and his squad was absolutely awesome for an action Sci-Fy survival film.

@@kobain6657 Lance Henriksen. Although he was an android in "Aliens", he was "killed" by the queen. HIs death is heard but not seen in the police station that gets wiped out in Terminator. He also got torched by a Predator in AVP.

The City hunter is my second favorite Yautja next to the classic Jungle Hunter of course. Both personalities showed signs of honor, cockiness, power, intelligence, and definitely having fun at times. I truly love this film and enjoy it just as much as the first film. Mike is a great character as well, Danny did a great job with that part. There are too many things I enjoy in this film to name off so I’ll just say how fantastic it is once more. I hope I can enjoy Prey as much as this or even Predators (2010) another underrated fella

This is criminally underrated, sure I would have loved to have Arnold return but what I did like was that it tried to be different from the first movie. Most sequels end up being to similar to their first movie, I also really like that the last 10 mins explains so much about the Predator just by what we see.

I’m SOOO glad you reviewed this film!!!! Yes, the original was great, it was like The Expendables in the 80’s. But Predator 2 expanded so much on the original. In particular, that the Predator plays “fair”, for lack of a better term when he sees the female officer pregnant and spares her.

It also made the Predator the real star of the franchise and not one actor. I think an Arnold led Predator 2 would go down in history as an inferior film to Predator because we had already seen Arnold defeat the creature. Predator 2 really opened the door by having very different characters with very diffeerent skills going up against a Predator. Imagine a Predator film set during the battle of Iwo Jima or in Cambodia. We kind of got something like that with Kong Skull Island.

Omg my favorite part in this movie is the predators reaction to keys team in the meat locker. He's ACTUALLY surprised and all most frightened that he. THE Predator. Almost walked into a ambush, I bet he also got even more impressed by the human intellect. Probably really anxious to engage too! Realizing it's probably gonna be a good fight.

I be curious to see this version of the Predator vs. the Thing (Both the 1984 and 2011 prequel Versions) in a HUNTER becomes the HUNTED Fight/Battle. The story could be that the Predator is Hunting both humans and Xenomorphs, in a Massive Game Reserve, but it finds out that something else attacking its Prey and Assimilating it. This twist would bring it into conflict with the "THING"!

Or how about the ship that crashed in the antarctic in the Thing films, was a Predator ship. When the ship was destroyed in the Thing prequel, an automatic distress call was sent out and a team of Predators are sent to sterilize the site. A Team of US Special Forces/Navy SEALs are also set to investigate the US station that went radio dark during the original film. The US troops and Predators fight each other and Things that infect both sides,until a human survivor and the last "real" Predator join forces.

Loved this movie! Glover was a fantastic choice for the lead... but now I know about it, some part of me would like to have seen Segal's version for the novelty value. Like Terminator, Alien and Robocop, these sequel movies were as good as or better than the original in adding depth, atmosphere and intensity. And I've always wanted to know the story behind the flintlock pistol handed to Glover at the end.

Predator 2 became the most watchable sequel in the 90’s. My buddy introduced me to this movie while I was being babysit at age 8. This movie became my guilt pleasure since… mostly the carnage this Predator brings upon the city of Los Angeles.

I really like this movie, it's up there with Alien 3 as one of the more underrated movies made, despite the original admittedly being far superior. But then predator is one of the best action/horror movies ever made so comparisons were always going to be hard on P2. One thing that is certain is that Stan Winston studios did absolutely fantastic work with the creature design yet again. They created a hunter that was obviously from the same race as the original, but yet looked very different at the same time. I actually prefer aspects of the city hunter. His beautiful copper mask for example always looked like an angry duck to me. I'm lucky to have a casting form the stunt version made by HCG collectibles years ago. Sadly the "Hero" mask was lost or stolen after filming. Somebody has a beautiful piece of cinema history sitting on their mantlepiece. Also every single one of the "lost hunters" from the end have more soul and character than any Predator design since (Predators 2010 was okay) All that work for a few seconds of screen time is why Stan and his team will always be remembered.
