It’s advice I’ve heard before. Nobody wants to meet with you until somebody wants to meet you. You need to build up a little bit of heat or enthusiasm for your writing first. Then the agents will come knocking.

I know someone who has won the most prestigious screenwriting contests you can win, optioned scripts, and never once got an agent or anyone else who was interested in repping them.

What suggestions do you have for finding an agent?
@ArneAsada69 Жыл бұрын
You need to build up a portfolio of writing samples. Also build up a network of industry professionals who can make introductions or offer leads.

What would you have done differently?
@FilmTraumaPodcast Жыл бұрын
@@filmcourage I would have gone into the meetings with prepared questions and realistic expectations. Writing a screenplay, placing in a competition and making connections is hard enough as an amateur; nobody prepares you for what comes next 😳

So if an agent had say David Fincher as a contact can I ask him/her that maybe just maybe we can get that script in their hand as a candidate choice for the script if the agent agreed that it match the style of say director? Of course it has to go through his agent & representative first.

Please @film courage I have a question, it is possible to have an agent or manager if you are not in the USA?

@@theworkathomemama7148 😂😂 Thank you. But, there could be others out there in the wild cyberstalking me, going through my trash, or just trying to find my email address, etc. Seriously though, this interview was informative, and I'm really loving the Film Courage channel in general. It's very educational and provides great insights into how the film industry actually operates. As a content creator working on creating an animated series by myself, this information is invaluable.
